Despondence Poems | Examples

Even Big Boys Cry

I'm writing in despondence,
Perhaps seeking your indulgence,
Let's talk about this boy,
Let's be their life-buoy,

Big boys are now crying,
They are at a verge of dying,
They're all subject to oblivion,
Very soon going to extinction,

Today I'm speaking for the lad,
Do not say I'm a biased bard,
Where's the manhood glory,
All troddened and treated lowly,

To day I'm writing to the men,
Pushing on to the gentlemen,
Let's be a little magnanimous,
All you hear ain't rumours,

We've lost everything masculine,
The all world is now feminine,
The rain is heavily beating us,
Our own are licking the ****,

Let's go to the drawing board,
There are lots of things aboard,
Lets check the nitty gritty,
It's time to avoid the fishy,

Black Seed

The sins of the father
the sins of the son
Repentance left vacant
each sorrow rerun
An age of despondence
an age of denial
The past beyond hope
—the future beguiled

Premium MemberThe Christmas Story

The Christmas Story
The Christmas story we were taught so well
And it’s a story that we love to tell
Tales of sweet angels who excitedly
Permeate sky with song beautifully.

On the unforgettable holy night
The star of Bethlehem was shining bright
Gleaming o’er the place of Jesus Christ’s birth
Born to save the souls of people on earth.

Will the light shine for us this Christmas Day
Will the darkness finally fade away
Earth’s in unrest that’s gone beyond control
Lord we implore you to save all lost souls.

The world is in need of peace for healing
From the anguish it's people are feeling
May this Christmas abolish all hatred
With hearts filled with love we will achieve it.

We must find the will inside to survive
It's love and trust that will light up our lives
Born for us, Jesus died for our sakes too
A gift from God above to me and you.

Life’s become harder for some of us all
Gone are joyous days when life was a ball
Despondence just keeps on coming our way
Pray that changes because of Christmas Day.

Don'T Quit Your Daydream

With the push of the yellow rays,
The long and lone river runs in a bedlam
Of inaudible thoughts and sings
In despondence of her plight,
The thousand sightings of the thousand pebbles,
The Daffodils greet her with a smile,
Perhaps the only joy left in this vicious cycle,
She wonders under the soft moon light,
As her eyes glow with the stars,
Stars that may have been rivers like her
That dared to fly to the distant space,
Free from any bonds,
To flow in the endless nebula
And now live there as stars,
Adorned with thousand colours,
Calling her to join them, to dare.

Dormant Desires

Drinking dreamy desires in core of heart.
Trying my best to fulfil dormant dreams.
Endless earnest effort sure to exert.
Life running rippling in whimsical streams.

Impossible to fulfil dreams, it seems.
Drinking dreamy desires in core of heart
Adverse environ spreading dark black films.
               Despondence engrossed making me alert.

Desire and aversion twined, not apart
Buds of desires got no scope to blossom.
Drinking dreamy desires from core of heart
Desires oppressed suppressed died in bosom.

Dormant desires wishing to ooze and surge.
Crying in vain, where to complain, me introvert.
Lying in abyss of mind without urge.
Drinking dreamy desires in core of heart.

DEEP DOLOR

      Sudden debut of whirling gust
Garden got covered with dense dust.
Burden of bygone days still lasts.

     Clouds almost ready to burst.
     Loud thunderbolts boldly blast.
     Proud memories pricked from past.

Fast flying birds flew far leaving sky.
Last phase of mine tending to sigh.
Past grievances sad to say ‘Why?’

    Terrible turmoil on thrust.
    Horrible heavy rains to start.
    Plausible claim from deprived heart.

Me just helpless passing through plight.
She is far away, out of sight.
Plea in vain to reach her this night.

Tears in ceaseless showers to pour.
    Piercing heart sonorous storms roar.
    Steers in despondence, deep Dolor.

Premium MemberAn Epiphany

An Epiphany

     An Epiphany is brightened.
Sole soul was bathed in ecstasy.
     My full life being enlightened
     overcoming fake fantasy.

    Then sinking in devastation.
    An Epiphany is brightened.
    My soul went on ignition.
    Serene soul on realisation.

    When felt helpless being frightened.
    Sinking slow to deep despondence.
    An Epiphany is brightened.
    Rhapsody on divine cadence.

    Dark silhouette soon faded out
    as if me forcibly destined.
Pure pristine seeds of peace to sprout
   An Epiphany is brightened.

Premium MemberPale Moon

PALE MOON

      Pale opal-like depressed Moon
on ebon night in charcoal turquoise sky
peeped through dark grey scattered clouds.
Soft glow casting sober polite glance looking morose.

Whelmed and mesmerized I am to gaze.
My forgotten love of bygone days
whispers and sighs merging in dim hazy glaze
      of maroon Moon.

Off and on black clouds try to hide the Moon.
Time to time it slips to show dull face
     emerging from clouds
I reminisce grief stricken lost love.

  I sink in despondence
  drinking dormant dreamy desires
seeking serenity in illusive drowsy dwindled
 lunar lamentation.

Premium MemberTransformation

Your story begins with a promise prime
On plateau of life a furrow you blaze
In dawn sky like the golden sun you climb
A shooting star across night sky you graze.

Surging storms strike, snatch flashy gleam away
Suck you in distressed perpetuity
Drown you in fathomless sea of dismay
Life turns debris of incongruity.

Dreaming for the feel of serene embrace
From dust of despondence you try to rise
Travelling free within the inner space
Hear the music of life you improvise.

With sated soul you live a life sublime
Your story begins with a promise prime.

Wondrously divine in its transcendence
God’s love* affirms kindness of providence
Radiating tender mercy’s resplendence
Defying any counter evidence….
My heart does claim with grateful confidence.

Marked by compassionate condescendence
Christ’s love is offered with heaven’s credence
Midst His sacrifice against impudence
Asserting biblical jurisprudence…
My faith accepts along praise-filled prudence.

Wrought with sovereign superintendence
The Lord’s love marches through grace-incidence
Redeeming those in sin-guilt despondence
Pardoning them from confessed decadence…
My soul receives midst earnest dependence.

Blest to grant everlasting residence
Saviour’s love gives hope of trust’s precedence
From hell’s eternal evil dissidence
Imputing righteousness with peace cadence…
My life owns against selfish diffidence.

*1John 4:9 In this was manifested the love of God toward us, because that God sent his only begotten Son into the world, that we might live through him.

Bits and Pieces

BITS AND PIECES

Bits and pieces they say makes the whole
A whole of what I can't help but ask
Bits and pieces of pain - despondence
Bits and pieces of lies - distrust
Bits and pieces of self - egocentricity
Whatever be your chosen assort.

So,

The bits and pieces you chose to gather
In mind do bear the responsibility of
that the bits and pieces you then do sow
To lend from the French "des choses"
Are the sort of dribs and drabs ......
You should feel no fear to harvest.

Premium MemberEssence of Black

Black brings beauty to white and coral opalescence
Lends obscure luster to gold and yellow’s fluorescence
Artists present wondrous reality with its clear presence
Creation of God* is never complete against night’s essence
Kindness’ purity becomes perfect vis-à-vis grim evil sense.

Bold to stand against neutrality-prevalence
Living ebony blends with varied hues’ iridescence
Asserting dignity, royalty, formality’s existence
Calmness blends with starless somnolence
Keeping balance as cheers versus despondence.

Bestowing sophistication along arrogance-absence
Lightless soot manifests elegance without pretense
Accentuating shades in its wondrous defense
Championing blue, red and yellow shades’ incense
Kindling depth of green, orange, violet – verily intense.

*Genesis 1:5 And God called the light Day, and the darkness he called Night. And the evening and the morning were the first day.

FAILED TO ACCEPT TRUTH

Once I failed to accept truth not being smart
Failure to endure, luck did not favor.
Love came in silent mode, me not alert.
Love waited for response: Gone for ever.

Failure to endure, luck did not favor
    Pearly passion ended in despondence.
Love waited for response: Gone for ever.
Romance rippled in air, left no essence.
