The Wandering Mind

I Wonder

I wonder,
not because life is unfair or harsh,
but perhaps it was never about
being a good soul.

I wonder
why I loved life
even when it greeted me with bruises.
Perhaps I am simply destined
to suffer.

I wonder.
And I wonder again,
because I feel like my heart
has been taken away.
I know
you also wonder
I am not in love
perhaps my heart is just empty.

I wonder
At times what makes me feel alive,
And where the spark to keep on searching
wandered into my mind.
Perhaps I am just someone
curious enough
to keep wondering.

Perhaps one thing is for sure
we all wonder.

Watching

If I saw you in the dark
Without a word without a lark
Saw you standing there very candidly
I Saw you there,
I watched you watch me ….
standing very candidly
you were watching, watching over me
I wonder and I pondered
 I might have even squandered..
For what purpose are you there?
Did it matter ?Did I care ?
You were watching, watching over me.
Not quite the same, more straight, yet curved , feet hovering, not quite on the ground , mimicking my movements without out a sound
You where there very candidly watching me , watching you ,
I wondered and I pondered are we one ? Or are we two ?

Premium Member Grandson of mine

Just seven and so wise.
He's always in the thralls of magic.
His mind exploding with wonder.

Premium Member Curious and Curiouser

For my: Always Right, Never Wrong 11-Year-old Son :

“Why do you think that girl
Is smarter than me
in Go Far?”

“Ben, lots of people
are smarter than you.

I’m your mom
and I tell it to you straight

because I want you
to keep reaching.
I want you
to keep being curious.
I want you
to keep reading
about all the little things,
and the big things,
that you don’t know about.

Things such as:
how can sea creatures
survive on the bottom
of the deep black sea?

Things such as:
what makes the sky blue,
for you and me?

Things such as:
what is actual
serenity?

I’m 39, and I find myself:
“curiouser and curiouser.”

Ben, grow to be good
at what you love.
Don’t try to be the best.

"The best is yet to come."
Keep playing the trumpet.

Practice the theme song
to ‘Jurassic Park’
that you taught yourself.

Go draw your own labyrinth,
and then solve it.

Keep the center of yourself
centered, like an apple core
that doesn’t stray
from the middle
of its home.”

Premium Member Curious Tale

This life has been long, a most curious tale.
From chasing every thought to saying maybe not.
Maybe we aren't meant to fail.
He tossed us from a most precious place,
Knowing all well what we would face.
From one Teacher or not.
The future needs you and all you've been taught.
The key is a book, a most profound plot.

Blood Baths

“Blood Baths”
by Positive Mark

It’s the battle hymn of the furious,

birthed and composed in the bold minds of the curious.

Blood baths are luxurious.

Trendsetters

carving out grooves for the bed wetters.

Howling at moons, sharpening spoons on their lead fetters.

It’s cold out front, and backlashes sting.

Desensitized by the gospels you sing.

You wail.

You admonish them to stop.

Old prayers sent to Heaven for a new cosmic slop.

Case files opened on a day of judgement.

Those who did it to ‘em, and all those who loved it.

Battle hymns are raised to release the spirit.

Aerosolized blood gets mixed in with the lyrics.

Why are you here?

What were you told?

Scare to die now, or scared to grow old?

Live for salvation or die for the loot?

Kneel for the reaper or shoot?

                                                                                    pack in their groceries

The Curious Coif

Enigmatically stubborn to style, the coif
Some days it can be easily pulled off
Other days it requires an exorcism
Like Zoolander it can look like ‘Magnum’

Hides my receding hairline like a charm
Sophistication to my head’s yardarm
Its antidote is a very windy day
Requiring heavy doses of hairspray

When it works my lady wants to stroke it
I recoil in fear, making her remit
For a single finger can ruin it
It’s a fickle angel to babysit

Premium Member I'm curious about Jesus verses

For lunch, do you know what Jesus ate
on the very day that He turned eight?
Barley bread and goat cheese,
onions, greens, and chickpeas,
and for dessert ~ a honey-dipped date.
Here's a question, just between you and me ~
did anyone ever see Jesus pee?
I know of no book where it's recorded,
but was anyone ever afforded
a peek, say, by the Sea of Galilee?

The Curious Crow

A clever young crow from Belize
Collected old buttons with ease.
It hoarded its stash
In a bucket of trash,
And sold them for shiny gold cheese.

The Curious Whisper

There once was a secret to tell,
That started with one little spell,
A whisper so sweet,
It swept off your feet,
And left you enchanted as well!

Premium Member investigating a curious vine

is that honeysuckle, jasmine or poison oak?
If I get too close to it to take a photo, will it be a problem?
I get a teensy bit closer, because I want a great photograph.
My sister does not have to respond to my text.
I am itching all over the place without even touching it.
