Fins ripple water
Colours of the rising sun
Koi glide quietly by

Coy Lament Espinela

Gold trumpet of flowers blooming,
an embellishment of big sound;
Spectators start to bop around
as a beat fills the air booming;

Succulent scent a bar’s forming,
with each inhale they fall in line;
The melody just hits so fine,
each hue a little different;
New version of a coy lament,
old world charisma lets it shine.

Beware of too coy a wife

An unfaithful wife poses coy, 
A spouse too straight perhaps plays fool,
Salty sea feels soothing cool,
Courteous goes fraudulent ploy,
Too sweet a tongue tends to befool.

inveigling, inviting, enticing
appeal, allure, impudent, impertinent
repelling, revolting, repulsing
cocky, cheeky
bold

Tomboy

Skirt and blouse - rejecting tomboy
Is never the cringing coy:
Very early dumps every toy
And her milky but effeminate soy, 
Cheerily ever for the boyish,
Forswearing everything girlish…

A sex-change operation hopeful
And male-fun partaker in full:
Never the allergic to drinking contests
And exclusive-to-males protests:
Not when she has got her throaty bellow 
And could say A Pure Rebel’s Hello!

The Sea's Coy Lover

I float in an aquamarine idyll; 
a bird soaring in shallows 
while hearing translucent echoes,
hovering pastel ripples
reminiscent of cobalt depths 
carried on shy currents
to an alabaster beach.

Sun's shimmer tiptoes
on serpentine waves,
pirouettes like star bursts
among the soupcon
of fuchsias and teals
that tease the surface 
like a coy lover.

Coy Obsession

thence it shall be considered
spoken, to satisfy your need
spoken only as it is worded to
be read, spoken
those that shall hear these words
shall ask others why, and in defense of
there sanity they shall want never to hear 
these words again.
