Counteracting Poems

In Jesus Name

I saw within the midst of it all,
The language, the idols.. the culture and history of the fall,
As if they owned the language and created these words long ago,
And the population just doesn't know,
Groups upon groups of layers unseen,
Claiming this is how we built our societies,
Staging fools to ruin and desensitizing their beliefs,
When Jesus came to set their hearts free,
Claiming they started words, taking out, and added to,
That they have been more in control of what we all knew,
You say in Jesus name..they cringe at the sight,
Using man's words and meanings against them, counteracting with loves might,
He will ruin our plots and ruin our plans,
To control the people and control the land,
The one who came here and fought for loves behalf,
Who sacrificed his entire life for the love of man,
Yet isn't it enough for everyone to see,
When you say Jesus name their animosity,
Because it's the opposite, and they want control,
Love counteracts all the knowledge of what they think they know.

Its Useless To Be Mean

Please quit being such a witch
Take your attitude and ditch
It away from your meanness streak
Or it's looking very bleak
For you to have any friends
This kind of attitude just sends
A picture of you violently
Attacking all kind souls like me
Who just want to spread good cheer
Your bad vibes are everywhere
Counteracting our good deeds
Your mental state really needs
To take a flip flip around
Or your mouth I'll gag and bound
So words of disgust wont come out
That's not what life is all about
We need to treat others kindly
Not walk around hating blindly
Not seeing how your affecting
All the work we've done dissecting
Negativity that's everywhere
We don't want the hate and fear
Others like you are sending
Into a world that should be lending
A more gentle kind approach
Do not be a filthy roach
Whose disease will never die
Please just give it a quick try
If your nicer and more human
We all can end this pain we're in

Parenting defiant trauma
attached to both hurt child
and wounded parent
needing to continue
co-invested relationships,
positive and constant,
without breaks
in healthy communication,
direct
and, if possible,
playful

Counteracting fear
that both TraumaChild
and I
will pressure ego-me
to choose a Win
for Self
to lose relationship
by distancing from Other;

To choose Me
over We.

I want to choose both Defiance
and Deep Listening
playing win to win together
co-passionate,
positive,
healthy communication

Frustrated by
Lose-Draw-Win
triage decision-making

As if emotionless withdrawn
leftbrain dominant verbal communication
could out-perform
actively hoping
for contagious preverbal resilience,
resonant companionship,
mutual enjoyment,
bonded courage,
cultural curiosity
re-educating accurate empathy.

Premium MemberContamination

Conscientiously Combat Contamination:
  Pass punitive laws policing polluters
Keep chemicals from killing crops like corn
Plink and plunk pests with pure, perfect panaceas
Segregate and shun smokers of cigars and cigarettes

Contradictorily, Contribute to Contamination:
  Permit and protect pernicious ***********
Validate, vindicate, and venerate video violence
Liberate, laugh at, and lionize lascivious language
Glorify and giggle at graceless, gutter-fed gossip

       Counteracting Contamination
Can't cut both ways, can it?

Premium MemberIntrospection On Toast

There once was a picture that wormed itself into my reverie
On a gray, cloudy morning, whilst it was raining and cold.
In this one picture were four slices of toast and five beverages.
Three glasses held tea the color of honey, and two were raspberry tinted.
Somehow it was important to me that the toast was suspended
In the air above the table by two glasses, like bookends.
For a moment I wondered who had achieved this strange feat, and why;
But then my thoughts turned to how my life was like that toast,
Suspended in air by forces counteracting gravity,
And any moment a passerby might jar the table, destroying the illusion
Of serenity and stability. I've seen people's lives change as quickly.
For the most part, everything seems to go well for them,
Then there is a turning point, after which nothing seems to be right.
Anything can trigger it; the loss of a child or job,
A spouse, or the home in which they have always lived.
Moreover, there is no reasoning to whom it happens;
Just like a careless passerby might bump a table,
And four slices of toast fall to the table, or the ground.

Congressional Conserve

Then void the footprints so demur,
wherein once walking, my feet pure
now doomed to stalking, faith as cure
the vise I deemed as caulking, minus stir ~

My country, silence balking
truth to serve
retreat while there is lacking
moment's lure!

What then is counteracting
what reserve
the led are never leaders
pretense verve!

To keep thy promise keeping
        keep your nerve
you backed away my seeking ~
. . . . . with conserve!

Old Flame

Fire rekindle as the old ashes are still burning
The flame in ones soul ignites
The soul awakens as there is a new yearning
In your own world was born a new light
Overflowing passion with ones mind interacting
All your thoughts and memories seemingly far away
The past experiences present counteracting
The love, your love wishes to keep it at bay
Remaining focused and still yet no resolve
Tighten your grip on your own reality
The mixture of your absurd fantasies dissolved
Free yourself from this passion insanity
Wherever you go, you always here their name
That spark, a small spark which was your old flame
