Premium Member The Foiler

He foils all jokes, punchlines and jocularity
He foils all contrary philosophies in hilarity
He's sarcastic and sardonic, he's even ironic
Soon to be iconic and witted supersonic
He stands for absolute truth, this trailer trash sleuth
Rap Reynolds is his name, giving noogies is his game

This spark started in a trailer park
Conceived to be, and to leave his mark
A foiler of all who attempt comedy
And the outcome (for them) is a tragedy
All those who claim contrariness will be slain
He will counteract the bane of the vain

Spoiler alert The Foiler has come to foil the plans
Ready, aim, fire and all the funny business dying with a laugh
Oh no it seems every time an Eighties tune is played
(Within earshot) I transport instantly to that time and space
And for every knee slapper there is a counteract-er
He never went to college and he'll steal all your musical knowledge

P.S. Does he chortle and guffaw at every flaw
Is he witty and urbane towards the lines that are flubbed
Nah he just needs his tummy rubbed
And even though she is in a different dimension
He thinks a lot of Emma Bankz, she's his cardinal direction

Premium Member How'd It Happen Cap'n

God created all before His face
Fish, cattle and birds on the Earth
Preparing a place for man
Jesus said "I go to prepare a place"
For all of the second birth
As it was promised in the original plan

The Evolution pollution
Has many creation theories
It is also a worldview
Full of contradictories, no solutions
So which of the queries
In obscurity do you choose

Evolution is a view of miscues
Relying on the all inclusive mutation
But mutations are a lack, they don't add information
So with the arbitrary excuse
Do your worse with your embolization
The impossibilities contrariness is our cessation

Premium Member Pause of Polarity Interchange

Line of inquiry:
“Betwixt two thoughts there is a gap
No illusions therein entrap
In the time stretched pause we then see
Ego craving is a mousetrap” - Unseeking Seeker

You see it everywhere today -
people disagreeing; it seems to be the rage.
Many folks simply won’t give in.
Their ego becomes for them a cage.

Inside this cage and during the pause
of such contrariness, there are no winners
when stubbornness, pride, and hate
turn well-meaning folks into sinners.

Seek understanding of your neighbor
even if the schism between you is wide.
Let go of ego; embrace love
by letting its pure light be your guide.

Skies; Yours and Ours

From yours over there
To ours, hereround
What contrariness of sky
Reflects the eye?

And do swifts, I doubt
Swallows, this neat
Weave, of the jovial
What is visual.

Nor while conceding
To a bias
Of summer day pride
No joy-leaps hide

Can be imagined
This placid blows
As untroubled of face
For clouds what grace.

Contraire

Contraire
by Michael R. Burch

Where there was nothing
but emptiness
and hollow chaos and despair,

I sought Her ...

finding only the darkness
and mournful silence
of the wind entangling her hair.

Yet her name was like prayer.

Now she is the vast
starry tinctures of emptiness
flickering everywhere

within me and about me.

Yes, she is the darkness,
and she is the silence
of twilight and the night air.

Yes, she is the chaos
and she is the madness
and they call her Contraire.

Strangeness

Indolent yet, constant, the feeling persists of no feeling
How do I do what I had no idea I would be doing?
Dreams are now nothing but wishful thinking
More like a thirst of unquenched drinking
Going through the motions unsure now of things I
had felt certain about, in my mind and almost in my heart
Its a different place, shadows emphasized by brightness
Strange familiarity of how life usually is, its contrariness
This is the constant, that I am not used to, this is strageness

The Downside To An Up-Hill Battle

Why don’t you go along with me when it’s so obvious that I am right?
I think that your contrariness is more than I can deal with for tonight.

It’s really very childish that you won't to concede to me this point,
I know that you are only refuting it because your nose is out of joint.

Perhaps my logic is lost on you because you are acting like a mule,
Or perhaps the soundness of my argument makes you feel like you’re a fool.

Believe me when I say I have no need to hold this over your head,
Once you’ve admitted that you’re wrong it’s kisses and we’re off to bed.

But if you’re going to hold on to irrefutable facts and only deal in reality,
I’m afraid that we’ll never work this out until you can accept my duality.

Canterbury Landscape

I use to hike through Flankers’ un-cobbled street
With easel and canvas hawking my mind

Sketching the apiary’s tenement
 Dull gray boxes densely scattered

Through the Spanish needle blooming wild
The brimming bees thought of me sometimes

Like a pest … intruding their waist waggling contrariness
And chased me in their screaming hive

Yet I kept going back there, incessantly, again and again
Something about them I could not shake from my pain,

From my matted mind, merging mnemonics of visual antics
Something more than husking their honey songs, frantic anxieties

Before the reap nectar joy, in deep abyss of altered memories
The image tabernacles … perched precarious icons faultless

Houses like matchboxes on tendril feet
Crablike clings on clustered rocks defying defeat

I lived there safe from the menace of winds that wilted
Better structures framed from punctual plans that silted us

Dams unbroken we flowed …leaving trembling shack of dreams
Clutched tightly in mirthless mothers’ unyielding hands.
