Mi'say Amore

me loving you
is one of those
complicated things
it's all for you
I must give up every thing
Whats to do
love complicates everything
But me for
That's the way it's got to be
that's the way
thats the way it's
got to be
it's love
really love
love complicates everything

Can we agree to disagree?

I stand not to repress,
I mean only to express,
My opinions without another feeling less.

Each a diverse human being,
Common ground far between,
"Political correctness" is nothing but a dream.

No one's truth is more true,
No one's story defines you,
Same points, details differ our view.

No one person's way is right,
People revell in this fight,
This future has no exit plan in sight.

Hard yet simple it can be,
Hinders most on delivery,
Essential for hearing you & me.

Not what we said but how we say,
Usually complicates our way,
Come together, not tomorrow but today.

Our future will brighten.. you'll see,
Full of harmonious clarity,
If we can genuinely agree to disagree.

Understanding, communication & respect above all.
We must let go, let the ego fall.
We can agree on indifference while maintaining personal truth,
A vital message to pass on to our youth.
No pressure my mates,
This not what this for,
All I am thinking,
No need for this war.

Death Sentence

Death of a friend brings sorrow,
one that doesn’t last for tomorrow,
Question’s if friendship built on lies,
As we call a friend that dies,
Not from life, but just from yours,
Doors that once were open, are now closed,
A friendship you wonder if it was forced,
One that was coursed into not having anywhere to go,
A friend that seeped in slow, one that went with the flow,
The safe becomes dangerous,
You say I know you,
You say it is true,
But my faith, mind, and heart,
complicates as the distance grows,
I knew you were too good at the start
But your lies are like water when it flows,
Who really is it you want to be,
With us or the lies that lie six feet,
To me,
It leaves a bitter taste on your tongue of defeat,
The work of lies and deceit,
Tell me was it worth all the pain and the grief,
Now that you will be stuck in the seat,
A death sentence is the eye of the beholder,
But truly nothing will change the mind's eye,
It's easy to fool one's heart when there is a mirage of beauty,
But the mask melts to the core is nothing but rotten irony.

Softened attention, marked by pure intent,
agendaless, yet trying to connect
with music of the spheres, for soul’s ascent,
delights as bliss beats within rise unchecked.

When eye be single, pheromones mingle,
resulting in a thunderous bliss surge
and we feel an ethereal tingle,
as male and female polarities merge.

The path is simple but mind complicates,
conjuring beliefs of heaven and hell
but heart’s innocence always celebrates,
with caress divine boding all is well.

Thought is overrated; shift to the heart,
for that’s where we feel bliss ignition start.

His collection of frayed, stained, flannel shirts is a library of memories. His granddaughter once asked him: “Papa, why’d you wear that shirt?”. He told her: “Because it was on top.” He blindly selected one cursing as he struggled to find the sleeve. Shoulder surgery complicates getting oneself dressed. The dog waited at the door, the cat threatened to use the flower box.
He talks to the dog knowing his secrets will be forever safe with him. Occasionally the dog will give him “that” look, y’know, like, not again, I’m just gonna run over there and pee. He watches the other dog walkers. Wonders how they got the dog. Throws the wet, slimy, tennis ball again and again. The dog doesn’t care about the shoulder surgery, just the freakin’ tennis ball. Other dogs come to see him, knowing he will pet them and tell them how good they are. They will shake their rain-soaked coats as he laughs with them. He heads home knowing that the house will smell like wet dog all day. He thinks he hears “his” dog chuckle.

some days life struggles to define itself
other days the hours roll straight off the shelf
some days fickle wind refuses to blow
other days nothing can stop the wind’s flow
some days start out headed straight toward hell
other days impossible to foretell

will not always be a reason or rhyme
to go with purposeful use of our time
lack of confidence and indecision
second thoughts, stage fright, fear of derision
disturbances which mess with our feelings
existence often complicates being

not always going to be a smooth flow
yet ever onward is where we must go

Being a Sophisticated Woman

She laughs more than she cries
That does not mean she is not in pain
As integrity blends with elegance
Her flexible movements shows a path
It just her morals
She is determined more than she is weak
That does not mean she is not tired
As honour commits to trust
Her intellectual mind formulates a way forward
It just her values
She loves more than she hates
That does not mean she is naive
As thoughts are aligned with feelings
Her love grows deeper
It just her merciful self
She understands more than she complicates
That does not mean she is a fool
As imperfections are being acknowledged
Her acceptance leads to freedom
It just who she is

Premium MemberOf Allegorical Wrinkling

Once again we’re wedged in a wrinkle
of time in our lives; a wrinkle that can’t
be so easily ironed out and pressed away.
Yet the ironing board of solutions remain up
and challenging steam continues to gush out;
however, conflicting political sizing complicates
the strained ironing out process…stalling progress.

Those of us familiar with social distance look on
in curious awe at the pandemonium of the social elite
sanitizing and quarantining themselves from each other.

Meanwhile, let us not be remiss nor dismayed by the
present dilemma; let us give it inherent attention; for
before modernity, our ancestors—the help—the hidden
numbers—laid out and taught us ingenious methods
of smoothing out nagging wrinkles inhibiting our progress.

Thus, let us not forget to remember those under the mattress
techniques designed to keep us healthy and strong in our journey
along the wrinkling road towards all-inclusiveness in this nation’s
pursuit of happiness through social, economical and political equality.

Give me love that I've worked for, no more, but no less,
For no man is deserving, I freely confess!
I don't need understanding, that complicates things,
And seeds fool expectations out home on the range.

Truth is not what I need from you, meals help, of course,
Learned to hitch my ass, long ago, well before horse.
If your funny bone's struck that I hope for a dance,
Girl, with funds in my pocket, a corpse has more chance

To gain weight in the ground. Would it help to behave
Or do you prefer naughty boys? Maybe a slave?
I've more wrinkles than you'll ever see in a pool.
I've done time as Court Jester, but pass on its fool!

I do sweat fierce when heated up, shiver alone,
Known to whip up some poetic times on the phone
When you'd think I might not! Tend to think best on 'pot,'
But investments I make there don't get out a lot!

Heard your friend call you Mable, well my name is Jake
If my poem is fable, these looks girl ain't fake.
I'm as real as it gets, don't get votes from no tweets,
Spayed by multiple vets, still got spin in these sheets!

Pro Patria Mori

Missouri volunteers bit bullets, watched
as Santa Ana's baggage washed
their brazen hair, hip deep
in the Rio Grande.
The ancient river moved across the land
Like slow drool down a leather cheek.

Bang! Paul Bunyan's balls
rolled down the Great Divide, rattled
across the porcelain sea.
Oh, the girls!
Hair hot and black, Whoopee!
Their tongues as pink as baby fat.

Now tongs drop a hissing crepe
on the defoliated plate. Butter complicates
our fingers, soils the bib.
We crack a claw. Like a crib
at Benin, wary and dull,
the eagle fills his nest with skulls.

State of Emergency

A bad virus

has taken state

South America's infection

complicates

Antibiotics

required to kill the germs

Open heart surgery

removes infesting worms

Gang leaders

Of the wild, wild South

"Jail Minds "

Casting spells about

Corrupted elements

Rob the people blind

Not a drop of water

Miseries of every kind

Hearts be strong

Nicolas Maduro falling down

This tyrant's time is done

Venezuela's freedom has begun

Victory's won

She Wondered

She spent her youth in concert sinning
A fact half known but fast ignored
"I'll trade your past for a new beginning"
Said off the cuff but now an ode

She wonders if he really knows

She feels her body's spent for giving
A good man she deems him, and rightly so
Complicates further the decision
"Oh god where were you before,
Before I mastered at deceiving?"
So close to words these thoughts did grow
But prunned by his ribbon wrapped unveling

She wonders if she should say 'no'

"I'm I my past or my ambition?"
She wants a family and a home
To lead a life that's worth it living
Her mouths agape set to respond
No trace of his confidence thinning
A persistent shiver in her bones

She wonders if it's her he's seeing

His knee is floored, his face is grinning
He thinks her flattered to the brimming
Her head is spinning, her limbs are cold
She whispers, 'yes...'
                                    As she wonders on....

I Wonder

I wake in a world of uncertainty
The mind ponders its way
Striving for answers
That left my heart dismayed

Clues were never trailed
For my wonders to be unveiled
The hearts condition is frail
To Loves affections in detail

Look past the sky
May my answers lay there?
To what complicates this storm
For death to arise unfair
