I will wait beyond the stars
In that place we know but only
At the time we meet together
Will it become truly ours.
And I cannot say why or when
And I cannot say how it will be
But keep this thought alive till then:
That all shall be as it should,
All will be our love and you and me
When we meet beyond the stars.
These souls of ours continue on,
Unchanged, connected for all time;
Believe, when distance intervenes,
That my core carries part of you,
And yours likewise has care of mine.

Like a stigma waiting for the pollen
Like nectar waiting for the bee
Like groom longing while in heaven
My love, I wait for thee
Like the crop yearning for gentle rain
Like waves longing for the shore
Like love longing for summer O again
My love, I long for you more
And I have felt the harrows of doubt
And tasted gall in glass of trust
And sipped not from the wine of mouth
My love, for logic is not in lust
But patient like the moon I do remain
By no storm to lose my course
I circle one star, to one planet pertain
My love and all its intercourse.
I know its morning
By the fragrance of your hair
It sings me again to sleep
Day comes dividing
Us into chores, and despair
For what no life dares to keep
I want to drink fresh
The nectar of your dark lips
I crave no other healing
Though my heart would thresh
Where eternity still drips
Even though we went to sleep
With open eyes see
Nothing here but a dream. You
Left long ago, too long now
And that makes you free
And I wary that I do
Not desert you, nor my vow

Meaning in their eggs fly like birds
The snake may suckle slurping in delight
But give them time to be feathered by light
We brotherhood carvers in the tongue
Let your muse break joy this time to live among
The unslithered past of printed page
Lying against the shell of rage.
I sing truth, and truth is my balm in the night
Long after honor has winged her flight
Away from the rough cliffs of barren minds
