Cogwheel Poems | Examples

Premium Member An Interior Mechanism

On the inside of the doohickey
is the cogwheel thingamajig.
And that thingamajig keeps the thingy working well.
It turns and cranks and circles around and round
like the second hand on an analog face clock.

On the inside of the workspace office
are the people that run the show,
and even if they have the most expensive of mechanisms
will be a chaotic environment if not
for the heart of the office glow.

On the inside of the human
is a mechanism most grand!
The heart that pumps a life giving, bloody, stream of life.
And the heart is the center of our emotions.
Our heart is the reason we laugh
and its the reason we cry the salty tears.

But no matter the location on the GPS
or no matter the engine in the truck,
and no matter the ink in the pen,
the heart of the person is the mechanism
that matters more than the most.

Premium Member Grandfather Clock

I know you love him
but if you're honest with yourselves
its become Greenwich Village obvious
that grandfather clock
is having trouble keeping time
all you need do is look
at the way his minutes quickly slip on by
there is a lot more than pride at stake
it would be sinful to look the other way

....and to all the others that hate him
the very least you can do at this point
is to not mock him anymore than you already have
karma is always a hellhound
at the throat of mockers

Grandfather clock is exhausted
his cogwheel are misaligned
so its time to finally treat him like a grandfather
not a time piece
he's payed the price for living
(as most have)
many times over.

Let the spring raindrops keep time
and we'll all call it an act of compassion

Premium Member Extra Eyes On Top of My Head

Following the conclusion
of my foresight illusion.
Wait! Where was I headed?
My cogwheel brain’s in seclusion.
