T’is calm ‘ere the rain
Wind nippy at dusk
Making joints to pain
Teeth, chatter, to task
Birds back to nest
In an envelope, dark
Awaiting the tempest
To make its mark
From afar, small deal
On site, t’is more serious
Brollies and coats for real
The deluge will be furious
Lasts a while ,then abates
Tropical clime at best
The land now procreates
Dust to put, to rest
The rhythm and rhyme
To repeat many a time
Hold on you big angry cat
Laying ambush for the little rat
Take heed and be circumspect
The rat may not be your suspect
Wait a minute you big angry cat
Be patient with the little rat
He is innocent of every crime
Until proven guilty by court in this clime
Listen to me all you angry cats
Compatriots of all the innocent rats
Jungle justice is outdated
And never to be updated
Once Greenland
Had bananas
Monkeys sat in trees
Snakes in the grass.
Then it colder
The jungle vanished
Ice took over.
Yet
The Vikings
Did farming
Had cows
And root plants.
When it got too cold
They took the cow
Home
To Norway
In longboats.
The clime
Had changed
Now it is changing
Again.
Will, it ever snow
In New Delhi.
There was once a man from a cool clime,
He had an unhurried sense of time,
Cool and content, no let,
Leisure his treasured pet,
Enough time his pet moments to chime,
A poet, his verse blank,
And diction lean and lank,
Who, believed: words in right space-time rhyme.
