Clairaudient Claire clambered to cling to her cliquish closeted clan
Clutching cloistered clues, clarifying a clumsily closed clergyman.

Spry Little Elf
A lonesome but spry little elf
Was sad she was still on the shelf.
So she clambered on down.
Headed fast into town
A boyfriend she’d find for herself
The first pub she found had a party
Full of guys both handsome and hearty
She wasn’t a floozy
But she could be choosy
And wanted a guy rather smartly.
She danced with an elf name of Fred.
Who’s good looks went straight to her head
Invited him back
And way down the track
There’s three on the shelf, enough said.

I stood on a boulder in the Andes
And stared at an albatross flapped
Its wind vane on top a sycamore.
I don't know why it stood there
But I know it struggled to claw
In the jaws of the branches.
Today I clambered same crown
Gawking on the blue empyrean
Then glared at vultures picking entrails
Of the white quills of the cross.
Oh! I don't know the bullets in the chests
Of a black widow.
Squeaking hyenas gathered at the carrion as well.
Oceans welled the furrow of my face
And my red balloons thumped and stamped.
Is that how the sparkling stars feign from the nights?
Is that how the roaring lion whisper in feign silence
While fed upon by black ants and leeches?
Well, I guessed I have to breathe each gas
As my very last with golden wreath.
For dear life is a candle wax that glitters and feign
In the twinkle of crystal balls.
I will thread on the seas and oceans as well
With fragile toes.

As a child, I found a well,
In a large grassy meadow.
And I clambered up its rocky sides
So that its secrets I would know.
On that day, I had no thirst,
Merely a child-like curiosity.
Its walls were rough and very steep,
And its bottom I could not see.
Looking around, a stone I found,
And tossed it down the well.
Then I listened for a sound,
To judge how far it fell.
After what seemed a lengthy time,
I heard a muted thud,
Which told me that either the well was dry
Or filled with thick dry mud.
People are dark deep wells
With depths you’ll never know,
And have thoughts you can’t perceive
When words at them you throw.

In the slate horizon static like a slab of rooted rock,
charcoal clouds clambered from its convolute edge
with the storm that rushed with the gruelling gale,
carrying the cascade of the melted splintered sky.
The mesmerizing music of the whistling wind,
the symphony of raindrops on the shaking leaves,
drew me out to the backyard veranda,
where I stood enthralled by the sonata of shower.
Wanting to join the concert I turned on the tape recorder,
played the classical music of Megh Malhar*,
the melody mingled with the echo of the remote thunder,
and with the mellow tune resonating in the strings of rain.
The wind-swept raindrops splashed on my forehead,
dripped down the closed eyes with the touch of weird silence.
In those mystique moments of captivating exhilaration,
I was lost spell-bound in the amazing realm of frozen time.
As the alien wonder of fidgety waves crept on my body,
my rapt voice quivered with acronymic shriek, W T F W T.
(*Megh Malhar is the melody of rain in Indian classical music)

Moon, you bring romantic poems to life
Amid the heavens to me and my wife.
We sat as the sun turned the sky amber
And absorbed the gray sky; up you clambered.
Days anew; you, never having grown old
Your witchcraft wink and sounds of gold so bold.
We tiptoed to stand and jump for a glimpse
Of your brilliant new face, you never skimp.
Wistful hues have carried us to realms of dreams
On starlite satin sheets and lavender streams.

We'd get the punt from St Mary's church,
We clambered aboard, with enough gear to make the punt lurch.
There was my Dad my Uncle, me and a family friend,
You could feel the day was going to be hot,
But off we went to discover our fishy lot.
We each had a very expensive rod, but we was one reel short that someone had forgotten,
But Dad didn't mind he was just as content to lay back and rest, while we all put our angling skills to the test.
We tried for at least 5 or 6 hours but we had nothing not even a bite,
Well except for my Dad who unknowing to us had tied a line to his big toe, and would you believe he had a sharp tug, and he pulled on board a shimmering Perch,
All we could really do was to fall about laughing and to cause the punt to make one final lurch.

Selene was smoldering, the shadows shrouding Her face.
Alone. I crept through limp leaves and decaying debris.
I felt grim fingers grasping, gripping, slowing my pace.
Faint flickers filtered through gnarled trees like fine filigree.
I wondered why I am here; I wondered where is here?
I stumbled over shallow mounds, smelling the stained soil.
Alone. A putrid presence charged me with fetid fear.
My queasiness convulsed in a turbid, rancid roil.
Murky dampness clambered over clammy, flaccid flesh.
If this were dream, I prayed to end my nightmarish plight!
A chilling calm came over me and I feared afresh.
Alone. Selene hid Her visage and sheen from my sight.
Alone. The noxious night darkened, enveloping me.

1. Selene, Greek goddess of the moon
2. 13, symbolic of rebellion and lawlessness in the Bible

Splinter bruised skin shimmering
with blood of the whip,
Crown that bled blood of calamity,
A pierced side that bled anguish and pain,
Adorned in purple for a whole world sake.
Beaten with club,
Led to the slaughter house,
Clambered to Calvary hills,
In bleeding garments of torment,
Adorned in purple for the believers struggle.
A palm that was nailed to the cross,
He was not punished for his own suffering,
He came to wash away a curse of old,
Adorned in purple he bore the shame silent and bold.
Lying tongues bestowed praises that were turned to mockery,
Hail hail hail was turned to kill kill kill.
Came as a King and Councilor,
Died as a criminal,
But kept on to the promise
Adorned in purple.

By Joseph Christopher Liguori and Robert James Liguori
The waves broke and the sun shone,
As he walked on the beach alone.
Abandoning the shore and heading towards the trees,
The leaves remained still in the calmness of the breeze.
Not a sound could be heard from above or below,
While he made his homeward stroll, ever so slow.
Upon reaching his abode, he clambered into bed,
Closing his eyes, he reminisced of what nature said.
