Fred got nissed as a pewt,
and despite some dispute
he wouldn’t leave to my chagrin!

Old Freddie was drunk as a skunk,
and clambered onto our top bunk

how he ranted and swore,

The moss green walls rise high above,
As a poet sits down to dream,

Cascading Conwy waters flow,

And old memories come and go.

When first I crossed the Beaver Bridge,
As a child who lived in dreams,
And clambered on the wooded ridge.

I fell in love with this place then,

Still, today it’s my Fairy Glen.

My breath reduced unto a gasp.
