Quiet, restful Summer took us venturing
the season that matured from early Spring.
But now it's facing change, adventuring
to the stage that bends to Autumn's call.
Blissfully canceling direction, enters Fall
to soon create new glories all its own,
as Summer's pastel colors overhaul
to golden, burnished hues new days will bring.
Air becoming cooler, daylight even fades
as the sun sets earlier each day.
Landscapes turn to ash till each pervades
bright Autumn leaves that fall from every tree.
Left meandering near open places, quilts
of colored leaves grace the withered lawns;
while naked tree trunks stand like waiting stilts-
to sleep in Winter and awake next Spring.

An email came from our hotel –
We’ve scratched your reservation.
We weren’t that surprised and took
The news with resignation.
The hurricane wreaked havoc there
And with the loss of power,
The chance of new accommodations
Worsened by the hour.
The canceling of flights came next,
A challenge while you’re driving,
But after much frustration,
Credits soon will be arriving.
We’ll unreserve the rental car
And once we get that cracking,
The only thing remaining is
Unfolding and unpacking.

A perfect off switch
the soft silence of headphones;
Sink into the sound
of classic rhythm and soul,
take me outside of my head;
I want to be free
even if for a moment;
Acoustic flutters,
that high E string butterfly
snaps and bleeds out in the sky;
Turned all the way up
solace inside the volume;
Three minutes pop off
there’s a drumbeat in my ears
canceling all the world’s noise.

A little candle
so it quiet flame
lit bright the light flame
beating like the heart
inside my vessel
light shines
from my spirit
out my soul
effervescent meeting
is my heart
right is light
my candle sings
as it shines bright
the Flames being Standing Tall
waving canceling out the dark
my candle sings The Flame beam
And it's brilliant light

They called it terminating a pregnancy you know,
like they were canceling some out-of-date TV show.
If you don’t like the song do you kill the radio,
Oh Momma, surely there has to be a better way.
You never gave me the chance for my life to unfold,
for me to fall in love, to laugh, to cry, to grow old.
And now the story of my life can never be told,
Oh Momma, why have you flushed my hopes and dreams away.
I understand what you’re saying, it’s your right to choose,
you don’t need some bureaucrat telling you what to do.
But what about me mommy don’t I have some rights too,
Oh Momma, I’m out of sight out of mind so they say.
To dream, to breathe, and to love are rights that my God gave,
to be allowed to follow my path from birth to grave.
Should you be permitted to dismiss that with a wave,
Oh Momma, for the world’s sins why did I have to pay.

God us had withstood
be without sin what we should
we knew that He would
Sunday again arrive
do love honey in bee hive
glad we are alive
have been revealing
think that we are appealing
our sin canceling (hiding)

Forgotten as the seasons pass ~ it slowly sheds canceling in spring.
trees on forest floor
lie beneath slow decaying~
baby rabbits pelt
A honey dye mantel on alder field,
emerald subtle charm comes forth and shield.
Time imposes roots, vine tendrils, dried leaves;
nests obliged nature's creatures, upon sheaves.

Peter and I are together and we’re in a grove.
Time is our treasure, precious and dwindling.
I watch for signs of the future unfolding,
like a twitch that might be the first sign of a stroke.
Answers will come - slowly - or they’ll parachute in from nowhere.
We spend a lot of time together but most of it is spent studying.
We both have silences that shouldn’t be penetrated.
I have so many questions, but I keep them at a safe distance,
so I don’t feel the need to interact with them.
All I know is we’re alive, and we still have to dance.
It's not always fun, operating in the face of uncertainty
but what else can we do - except go through the motions?
“When exactly did the world lose its collective mind?” I asked, reading the news on my iPad.
Peter looked up from the book he was highlighting with a phosphorescent pink pen.
“They’ve found toxic metals in CHOCOLATES. Everywhere.” I announced, like that Poe bird.
“I guess we’re canceling chocolate then,” he said, sarcastically, “we’ll adapt.”
“Yeah, you bet.” I said with genuine irony.

Hold hero to the brave
Which can't admit his broken heart
For his desired slave
Is his ego he can't depart
All of his passion waves
Is lust be dust cardinal sin
To see if she behaves
Amongst abnormal tardent skin
Believe being to breathe
Within your whispered wailing walls
Dare not do I deceive
Concerned with not canceling calls
Lake meadows of the earth
Pour in the pure and potpourri
Conceiving streams at birth
Forming faint fire we fight to free
How shall this thrust of trust be true
For me to be your morning blue

A pink flower to smell, watch a red ball bounce, see
a clown, a puppy to embrace, a mother's smile.
A child laughs at each new discovery--all a mystery
To see the world through a child's eyes
would be like looking through an unchipped
glass and suddenly see ourselves before
we became time-worn and world-wise.
A new lesson we'd learn daily, canceling
those tired tries. Everyone would be a friend,
even a tiny, interesting bug: no exceptions.
Think about this: a child assumes the world
is wonderful and wants to give it a hug; while
we've become complacent and accept wonder
with a shrug.
enchantment is seen
through the eyes of the children
we should open ours

My gramps was a long-staunch Baptist of the sort S.B.C.,
Until his local congregation got beholden to the R.N.C.
Gramps was a hoot – on a Friday he joined the K.K.K.,
Saturday, he quit because it wasn’t a branch of the Y.M.C.A.
Afterwards, he feared a knock on his door from the C.I.A.
Would negate all his years working with the B.S. of A.
Gramps continued his strong support for the N.A.A.C.P.
But said he was canceling his membership in the B.B.B.
He was a coal miner, but Gramps never joined the A.F. of L.
It was years before he learned the union was not a U.R.L.

Executive orders signing spree
Quite a start for old JB
Killed off the jobs of myriad employees
Put a chokehold on the oil industry
But in the name of his pitch for unity
Lets look at JB's orders with impunity
Rejoining the 2015 Paris 'dialogue-ees'
He's eased up on our good friends, the Chinese
Plus he's helped so many radicals smile with glee
Like Ms. Omer, Ms. Tlieb, Bernie and AOC
Not to mention old pros like Schumer and Pelosi
Now on to re-engage Iran, Obama's lose-lose strategy
Canceling rents and student loans in late February
Open the borders ~ Here comes amnesty

I’m canceling me caring about your opinion,
I’m canceling you canceling being real;
I’m canceling this version of communication,
I’m canceling my own bad decisions;
I’m canceling the one word replies,
I’m canceling your lies disguised as truth;
I’m canceling the force fed ‘Don’t even try’,
I’m canceling me falling for false eyes;
I’m canceling the total lack of ingenuity,
I’m canceling seeing yet staying silent;
I’m canceling replacing talking with an emoj,
I’m canceling this virtual version of reality;
Welcome to Cancel Culture,
where everything’s jacked;
Waving flags you can’t explain,
don’t ask me to accept that;
Welcome to Cancel Culture,
I’m canceling your ‘Woke’;
Welcome to Cancel Culture,
you’re not woke until you wake up.

The children in control are trying to impress
By canceling the annual Christmas party for the press
Ha ha so there
So says Sir Orange Hair
Though it'll take away my opportunity to fondle some breasts

There once was a crooner with sideburns
Whose lips howled and hips churned as he turned
His first name was Elvis
They called him "The Pelvis"
Until the day he flamed out, crashed and burned
Jimi Hendrix sure wowed 'em at Woodstock
Created a new form of acid-rock
He performed Purple Haze
In a drug-induced daze
Star-Spangled Banner in permanent shock
And lest we forget Janis Joplin
Whose songs really kept her fans hoppin'
She went on a spree
With Bobby McGee
Then she OD'd, which ended her boppin'
These three heroes all met similar fates
Thinking themselves immortally great
They took liberties
With their minds and bodies
Canceling their remaining concert dates
