Four moons orbiting Jupiter were discovered by Galileo.
He named them Europa, Ganymede, Callisto, and Io.
Several unmanned space probes were sent there recently.
They revealed things no earth-bound sky watcher could see.
Of special interest was the Jovian moon Io.
This body has many an active volcano.
Io is literally turning itself inside-out.
This makes the moon the most fascinating without a doubt.

could someone please tell me
of the moons intentions
and of their affair
with Jupiter's rings
when lo and behold
Io has a fire in her belly
snowy volcanic fields
burning ice in her spring
Europa stands by
displaying cold shoulders
with oceans below
life she does bring
brother Ganymede
pulls it together
dark are his regions
light his terrain
beaten and battered
Callisto the stepchild
unchanged in its matter
and the song that it sings
is this all true
of Jupiter's moons
and of their intentions
could someone tell me

Spiralling Stardust Sight
Chasing clusters of dust and Venus vapid lust
We sail and we sway throughout the Milky Way
In a thrust, we land on a planet of candescent crust
And with dynamic display spiralling star dust spray
Jupiter and its moon Callisto a calamitous cocoon
With craters of ice, the shivering silence shall suffice
Off to Mars by noon on a botanical baronial balloon
It has paid the price with scars that scabrously splice
And lest we not forget Pluto a throw away or asset
A tiny pinhole within the cosmic super galactic bowl
On the night we met the stars shining as we sweat
The love that you stole along with my heart and soul
All this on a spontaneous starry narcotising night
Within a spiralling stardust spraying sensuous sight.

Oh great Jupiter, king of all the planets.
The great gas giant.
A great red spot, a magnificent storm.
You have many moons some large and some small.
The greatest of which are the Galilean moons.
Io, Europa, Ganymede and Callisto.
The flux tube between Io and Jupiter,
A sight to behold.
As electricity jumps from one to the other.
Largest of all objects in our solar system,
Except the Sun, the giver of life.
Brilliant Jupiter many times larger than Earth
And far more mysterious.
*Work in progress*
