Buzzed Poems | Examples

Growing up

You have shone bright like a star.
And buzzed like a bee to where you are.
Carry on your journey without me.
And keep on shining as bright as can be.

Premium MemberNeighborhood Blockheads

When a pair of fighter jets
Buzzed over the parapets
They woke up the entire block

Though the pilots had regrets
But still the neighborhood frets
At each ticking of the clock

This deafening sound they battled
Their dishes chipped and rattled
And went crashing to the floor

With nerves all spent and addled
The block packed up and saddled
No one lives here anymore

Premium MemberEchoes in a Silent Lane

I rode the steed of memories to where my childhood lay,
Dreaming through the dusty lanes as laughter echoed far away
Of fairs that buzzed with colour, and joy that never dies
Of carefree games with friends beneath the sunlit skies.

But when I reached that faded lane, the world had turned to stone,
No laughter rang, no faces showed—just silence, cold and alone.
The fair had packed its magic up, and friends moved on,
And I stood there—a stranger now—where once my soul had shone.

Fly vs Buffalo

A fly so audacious and small,
Tried to land on a buffalo's ball.
The beast gave a twitch,
And sent him a hitch,
"That's not landing," he buzzed, "not at all!"

Premium MemberPuckered Up Espinela

You are known to raise blood pressure,
all my taste buds have puckered up;
A teaspoon’s like you’ve drank a cup,
I’m left buzzed on briny treasure;

Holding a sick sense of pleasure
just leaves me prone to overdose;
My off switch leaves me so morose,
I’m frozen by where hope is hung;
Heightened flavor sits on my tongue,
that taste as sweet as salt so close.

Premium MemberAndy Ant

Franny Frog wrote a fairytale about sad, Andy Ant.
She heard Andy cry, "I can't make friends. I just can't.
Why don't any ants my age want to play with me?"
Bob Bumble heard him sigh and since he was a bee,
he buzzed near Andy's ear and said, "I will tell you. See...
Angry ants like you, Andy, have to change your attitude.
Angie and Amos would really like you if you weren't rude.
Tomorrow, try talking to them and be patient and polite.
You'll make many new friends." Then, Bob took off in flight.

Andy bid Bob Bumble Bee goodbye, then I heard him say,
"I'm an angry ant, but I simply didn't see myself that way."
Sunlight shown on the ant hill when morning came around.
Andy smiled at all the ants when they climbed above ground.
They played and pranced all day long, around the ant mound.
Franny Frog's fairytale had a very 'happily ever after ending.'
Andy Ant was no longer angry. Friendships he was mending.

Premium Memberannoying mosquito

why do mosquitos love ears and arms?
this is the third one that has buzzed my right ear today
or maybe the same one, who knows?

mosquito buzzing is such an irritant
Bothering one ear, then the other
This one just flew in between my eyes!

A brazen fellow
he has landed on my arm
Ouch!
His teeth must be the size of a grizzly’s

Elbows and a Kettle

Elbows on the desk,
hands shoved against eyes,
knuckles pressed into their corners.

You know how it is:
you’re thinking, facing the screen.
Pondering, trying to meditate, excogitate.

Where is it? Where was it?
It was in my mind a moment ago.
It’s gone, my brain has lost it.
I even ask what it was.

The kettle boiled, whistled.
A letter hit my mailbox.
A car screeched to a stop out there.
A fly buzzed about my head.

Elbows, hands, knuckles,
thoughts, ponder, meditation;
brain plays with thoughts.
Then kettle, mailbox, brakes, that damned fly.

Zinnia

Zinnia Jazz called at the daybreak of Spring
The bees buzzed "how on earth does your garden grow?"
And the fresh season tapped in time with a zing

Bearing trowels and soil, the green fingered sing
With love and Godspeed where the sun is aglow
Zinnia Jazz called at the daybreak of Spring

Butterflies fluttered a tune with a soft swing
Circling to watch seedlings, raise their bows below
And the fresh season tapped in time with a zing

I ponder the music this blessing may bring
Nurturing my floral scores to sprout and grow
Zinnia Jazz called at the daybreak of Spring

To yield classic creations - I know one thing
It’s good to have a skilled gardener in tow
And the fresh season tapped in time with a zing

Summer opened the performance with a fling
Where arrays of rich colours and great heights flow
Zinnia Jazz called at the daybreak of Spring
And the fresh season tapped in time with a zing

Premium MemberLusting for Honey

A bee buzzed with love, pure and sunny,
For clover, its sweet, golden honey.
It danced in the breeze,
With remarkable ease,
Declaring, "For you, I'd spend all my money!"

Premium MemberFrozen Starlight

                 Frozen Starlight

January 15 midnight I'm buzzed and wander
away from the party to the creek in back
where it's quiet and sky clear in splendor.
Stars seem frozen in place for me alone.
I feel born again in silence, one with God.
Tomorrow I'll call my Dad and I will atone.

Premium MemberOdyssey

she shuffles in tattered slippers
held by elastic bands
securing them to her feet
bindings taken for granted

her thoughts settled into routine
to cross the dining room floor
to her table
lunch still matters to those buzzed by fog
dessert still stirs the blood to move

dysfunctional in age
she could go off in any direction at any time
like a heart monitor jittery, at the cusp of letting go
a harvested jumble of beats that still hang together

her odyssey
a matter of edges
stunted steps
close enough to the movement of others
bickering bodies sometimes
but removed enough to breathe
