In a corner of the world where dreams break in waves of silence,
And shadows dance on the edge of a heart too full,
In a sea of thoughts that pour like a river of unrest,
I stand and unravel into thousands of threads of longing and regret.
My soul, a canvas of stars that ignites and fades,
In a time that knows neither beginning nor end.
My eye sees the sky and the earth as a single breath,
While my heart pleads not to be misunderstood.
Sometimes the light within me splits like a rainbow,
But other times clouds gather, heavy, over my inner horizon.
I seek my balance on the thin line between joy and sorrow,
And in every moment I lose myself, find myself, disperse.
I am just a soul trying to find peace in the storm,
A person with flaws finely woven into the fabric of their existence.
And though I strive, sometimes I get lost in my own labyrinth,
Waiting to be understood, to be loved, to be forgiven.
In this world of shadows and lights that mix endlessly,
I cry to the heavens not to be misunderstood, to be accepted.
For deep within me, intentions are as pure as a mountain spring,
And my plea rises like an ancient song to the stars.

A tangle of moss in the new gray dawn—
Palm fronds whisper hush, hush—
Waves shiver on the sand.
The sea sighs like a tired dreamer.
Fiddler crabs scuttle sideways in the hush—
Sideways like folks around here,
Slipping sideways in the hush.
Behind ragged shacks, I stand.
Smoke curls like a question mark.
A rooster crows a single note of gold.
Somebody’s frying fish, crab cakes,
And hush puppies.
Breakfast for the sun, maybe.
Somebody’s humming the blues—
A low, slow song of yesterday’s chain gang.
But the sea keeps calling—
Even the sand listens—
Dreaming of a better tomorrow,
In nineteen sixty six.

How would you feel,
If you went home today
To find a strange creature
Had entered your cave
While you were away?
How would you feel,
If the door to your cave
Had been kicked in by a kid
Who just could not behave?
Would you rumble and roar
Or just rant and rave?
You would you feel,
If you looked in your bed
To find sleeping there soundly
A wee human head?
Would you be angry?
Would you see red?
How would you feel,
If some golden-haired brat
Had gobbled your supper
And shattered the chair where you always sat?
What would you do?
How would you handle that?
No one would blame you,
If you got really mad
With a dimpled-faced terror who destroyed all that you had.
That’s how many would feel, but
Isn’t it sad
That no one had taught her
How not to be bad?

Through a break in the trees -
Flows a tawny river -
Sanding the rock endlessly
As a peerless carver.
The jungle is not seen
In the murky water's face;
The sky does not skim upon
Its delicate countenance.
It refuses the trees' approach;
The rushing seeks to replace
Tribulations for peace -
Skipping them away.
Its waters fill my mind;
I remember Zongo Falls
As an obscure haven
For which my heart longs.

If cold callous hope eats your innards
like wriggling worthless worms,
trust in the Lord who will definitely
warm your dissolute soul.
For we all have sanguine expectations,
bright prospects laced with confidence.
And oft we rely on our self convictions,
refusing help or never given spontaneously.
We fly from hope to hope,
like birds that search for the early worm.
Only to find we've lost our battle,
a sour taste on our palate
and loss of confidence on self and neighbour
not to mention putting all the blame on Him
who could have helped us spontaneously.
But think carefully my friend,
for this journey is full of bestial storms,
where thunder and lightning are deadly at times.
Yet He has given us great hope
for He provides us with what we need,
a break in the dark clouds above.

Hello good people here I am
A minor break in the action
Things are relatively back to normal
Almost to our satisfaction
Lost no data, thanks to Poetry Soup
In this age of techie type gadgets
So dependant on a very thin line
Our heads must be thoroughly checked
We think this progress is the cat's meow
Till a link in the chain gets snapped
Then we're up the creek without a paddle
We're never prepared for this fact
Does “scary” take on a whole new meaning
Such a perilous journey we're on
Oh for those good ole days back then
When all that worried us was the bomb
So there you have it, my very good friends
Just a minor break in the action
Things are relatively back to normal
Well almost to our satisfaction

Lights out
No one about
Alone we stand
Object in hand
Silently we move
Ready to remove
Items of wealth
With stealth
Window breaks
Glass in flakes
In we now go
Time for the show

Smash of a broken lock
Whispering, they talk
Time, it seems to stop
They’re in my house,
They’re inside.
Searching for some loot
A tried and tested crew
What damage they may do
When they find us,
They'll find us.
Footfalls of the stairs
They think I’m unaware
That I would never dare
Come out there,
Go out there.
Doors smash, they see my wife
He brandishes a knife
My shotgun roars to life
He falls down,
He’s bleeding.
The others turn and fly
The ringleader he lies
Looks confused as he dies…
He made his choice
...So be it.

I wait for the moment
The night to fall
Look up the sky
Stars galore
Nightingales call
Its time to sing
Forget all your pain
Wash away your sins
The moon feels alone
As the whole city sleeps
Out there somewhere
A lonely soul weeps
Forget all your pain
Its time to sing
Let new love come through the door
Through the tears of joy
Let the dawn break in

I was awake, but laid there on my pillow.
The silence was so loud it muffled me.
Fear draped me in the house where I dwell.
The anguish, I just couldn’t deny.
I heard a strange sound coming from my kitchen,
Feet were slipping on the wet floor.
I also heard the sound of the trap made of old foil,
I thought, “Just stand on the edge!”
Then, there was a very long pause…

It's scarey and curvey
and twisty and turny
this carnivale ride in my head
one minute up
and the next minute down
in all the confusion my soul
soul starts to drown
is it my fault
is it even real
to higher powers
i appeal
is this a storm that's
inside my head
or between the lines
a story unsaid
so often i feel
a boot made a steel
stomping and crushing me down
a teasing light
twinkeling bright
redemption hung
just out of reach
the ties that binde
hold me steady
until the day that
i am ready
to face a question
so ancient and old
could it possibley be
the one holding me back.....
is ME?

in the night my hair is a missing
pugged out with no hair on my fear (fare) pillow
who comes in the night
is it you, you bad bad fellow
to hit my pride, and show me weak~
or sit (set) me up with your lies
to know my medical heal (heath)
to change my soul (life) and make me dead~

The cat disrupt her thinkable moments, by
attention thou needed. She took the torso
and kept it hold from the breast by
all used ways, and kept her stand for
apart the opening window, in somnolent
in love instant glaceing is helplessness
in nightfall terrain moonily lasts sky,
standing for in deeds’ anxious sudden flow
up fictions points then’ sinew not really
she moved away from the window
Then! — put-down above rugs in blue
as faithful cat roommate, busing in breach
And ratified herself, at joined her kitchen
Baking feed.
Now by! Blank went, her young mind
And freed from images, in stages love —
In head a new channel, while, the nowadays.
