Bravely Poems

African Child

"African child"
African child, so young and bold,
On June 16, your story was told.
You took to the streets with pride and might,
To fight for freedom, for what is right.

You faced fear and danger, yet you stood tall, Demanding a future, fair and for all.
Your voice rang out, clear and strong,
As you marched bravely, all day long.

But the world saw your pain and plight,
Your struggle to learn, to read and write.
And they refused to let you fall,
For they knew, you deserved it all.

Today, young child, you have a hope,
A future bright, with endless scope.
No more to be silenced, no more to be still,
But to rise up, and learn, and be fulfilled.

Life's Storms

LIFE'S STORMS
The sky is clear and blue, no clouds in sight
To break the calm in life.
Colors come thru drab, no action's taking place,
Yet blessings still abound in life.
Be thankful for the calm, it won't remain too long
Before a storm afflicts your life.
Build faith while thoughts may come thru clear,
Before begin the trials of life.
Dark clouds will come, God helps those
Who bravely bear their lot in life.

Bravely Drift

10/10/2020
Brave heart, when so I'm called -
More like Gibson, my brain adjoins!
Gasping for breath one inhale,
Bursting with laughter the next.
Thoughts don't make sense
hence, poetry doesn't either
rhyme big with reason!
Sailing along, sometimes paddling
To drift away some little current
Is all sometimes will allow
let that suffice and just follow
The time to swim will come;
time enough left to be Phelps yet
Let this be enough right this sail;
Now, smile as you drift along;
frowning when away-
Yet, still with the current and not still
Off with a safe and dead log;
Not safe and dead somewhere else!
