"It is quite possible to leave your home for a walk in the early morning air and return a different person - beguiled, enchanted."
~ Mary Ellen Chase
We enjoy the whistling wind as we walk,
The cool morning breeze calms and charms us,
A peacock is perched on a peepal tree,
Its fine feathers flowing fascinatingly,
Its sound of squawking seems sophisticated,
Like mystical music to its magnificent mate;
The butterscotch-orange ball blooms in the blue,
A snake slithers silently in the sewer nearby,
Songbirds tweet tantalizingly in the tall trees,
Vehicles plying on the highway are a vision to view,
Blushing bougainvilleas have blossomed in bunches,
Numerous neem trees line the narrow footpath,
A squirrel squeezes through a small, square hole,
And we uncover God's wonders as He unveils a new day.
Inspired by Silent One's Nothing shines endlessly.

Beneath the shadow of each petal
of bougainvilleas and azaleas
that adorn grandma's porch
I trace my loneliness
into the gossamer of light
that bathes my shaded eyes
yet, the shadow fades quickly
before my hands could shape
the paradigm I longed to paint
in the unfinished canvas
hiding under the old porch.
The morning sun warms the paint
as I dip my thirsty brush
into the palette of endless quests
I stop into nothingness~
Then, I begin to dance
like a deaf ballerina
moving my feet and hands
into the rhythm of the passing clouds
until the sky dissolves in darkness.
I stop and wonder ~
if everything we see are greyscales
of negative photography
how could I paint you
sans chiaroscuro?
A dense fog envelopes the valley today
The scene seems supernatural,
straight out of a fairy tale
Even as Nature's song plays out...
A light breeze brushes the bushes
and rows of roses regale with their refrains,
Lilies lilting to the lyrics of aurora allure the muse
Dahlias dally in a delicate dance
And merry marigolds move to the music of the morn
Chrysanthemums croon along in an enchanting cadence
Spring has arrived to perform its sonata...
Bougainvilleas belt out the blues
Cherry blossoms cheer and chant the chorus
Jubilant jasmines jive joyously in unison
Happy hyacinths harmonise in their psychedelic hues
Birdies chirp, squirrels squeak and doves warble,
adding their bit to this Spring composition
The fog lifts, lighting up the chromatic vale...
The Master Director of this orchestra is to be praised
for bringing out the best music Spring can ever produce.

BLESSEDNESS
Your blessedness and bouquet gift of bougainvilleas
leaves me breathless
the beautiful and beloved butterfly bereaved
and brokenhearted sees humanity lying lifeless
on the bloodstained dying fields of greed
the perpetrator’s brouhaha will die with their arrogance
without blessedness
I took a hike
up passed the bougainvilleas
And up passed
This garden full of flowers I can’t name
And up near an area of flowers
That I can’t name
To find one flower by itself.
The vine or stem had crawled under a fence and scratched itself onto the blacktop road
Slowly
Giving petals time to unfurl into a flower
Before getting stepped on or hit by a car.
And it was enough time for an anxious bee
To get its ingredients.
Every time I watch my daughter put honey on her toast, I hope she’ll do it slowly and carefully by herself
Like that flower bloomed.
And I’m happy I know her name.
Sloan.
I love Bougainvilleas
Mighty thorny showstoppers
Though be careful if you come in contact
As they will cut you good and proper!
A flower of such magnificence
With a defiant mind of its own
Growing fast and wild
Uncontrollable left unattended and alone!
Miraculous colours abound
Pure nature personified
Occupies it’s space with perpetual colour
Portraying independence and pride!
not left to be tall
jealous of palm trees grow thorns ---
bougainvilleas
19 March 2022
Shadowy figures reflected in the panes
Framed with aloe and bougainvilleas,
Unaware, they move furtively like spirits
Dancing in another dimension of space,
They whisper of happier times long ago
When they were young and I was not here.

Morning Sun to Wash My Skin,
Air So Crisp and Clear.
Musical Songs From Every Bird
Soft Laid Upon My Ear.
Bougainvilleas and Magnolias,
Beauty From Every Shore;
Upon My Face, all Heaven Placed,
I Could Not Want for More.
Yet Somewhere Someone Waits For Me,
For Whom My Heart Completes
Who Sees In Me The Birth
Of Every Moment
Their Heart Beats.
Endowed by God with wondrous blessings*’ bounty
nature exposes His great Creation sovereignty:
awesome landscapes marked by His architectural acuity
mountain ranges grandeur and hills in their majesty
welcoming me for invigorating trek toward peaks’ serenity.
Waterfalls’ cascading crystals… oh, what a sight
glowing while flowing along rivulets gushing might
toward sea of billowing waves’ height…
beholding the ocean brings me spiritual delight
while gripped with the Saviour’s security-tight.
Refreshing breeze wafts warm assurance
midst Acasia leaves swaying with exuberance
I’m enclosed with calmness midst toil-propped endurance
neath canopy of bougainvilleas in their glorious appearance
uplifting my faith toward gratitude’s joyous clearance.

Now in this place I hear
Echoes of long ago
Sift from shadow play here
The open road beckons
Echoes call out to me
Songs of ancient days
I sense new beginnings
Stuff of fond surprise await
Scented fragrance in the breeze
Brand new start sets free
Old journal memories
Light for the morning glow
Breezy buzz of jazzy noise
Murmurs prompting journeys
I waltz into sacred moments
Feel the fresh air warmly squeeze
Touch of miracles and dreams
Truth reveals fond possibilities
Calm pleasing sea of stillness
Watch faces rushing urgent fate
Meet rustle of leaves that amuse
Here where joy awaits form
I listen well in sneeze and squeeze
Gather gait and plunge through gates
In one brief fling of fate
Intent conspires with fond desire
I plunge into the dream
Scented floral fantasies
Plumeria moments calling loud
Bougainvilleas wild by open spaces

Warm sun comforts you
You are all green and light gold
Your beautiful hold
Sunrays on red lips
Buds open out in flowers
My story-stirred hours
And the violet
Bougainvilleas on your arch
In a lovely splurge
Hold on little more
On your flowing river shore
In your lush lyric

The rain washed,
moon. I am going to talk,
to clouds,
for a pause.
*
A serene
quietness.
Rain comes down in rhythmic dance.
No bird will sing now.
*
I will watch,
the bougainvilleas.
Shedding the coloured bracts
on velvety grass.
