Subtly significant for the cause,
Ripped apart by men,
Revering the reign of the lord,
Fools caught up in the act,
Making change prosper,
Or an effort toward it the least.
What failed was agony,
Disbelief of fauna and flora,
Once brimmed with confidence,
Flooding of the bloodsucking leech,
Man yelled at the being.
Tree hanging by the ridge,
Suffocated by newly fought freedom,
Of façade of expression and growth,
Ambition not mindful of the process,
Species that curated the being,
Progressed sipping some tea.
Fight in the open on land,
Now had turned it barren and sore,
Existence had to be revered,
It was in the past,
Not now with opening of new doors.
For salvation we may pray to him,
Or maybe give life to new,
Where little is done for being,
Even human won’t survive calamity,
Surrender to seizure of nature,
Living with a lie,
Brain put to a good use,
Man claimed!

In a labyrinth of treachery, my broken hearts cries,
From an unspoken betrayal, that no love survives.
She deemed my love wanting, a river too weak,
While I poured all into her, till I became a creek.
My silent vows etched into every setting sun,
Her needs, my command, until the day was done.
I never complained, grumbled, nor moan
She always wanted more, wanting a pet to own.
A blunder, she weeps, her voice a hollow song,
Her reptilian tears swear to have wished no wrong.
Claims of love, of missing our yesteryears' night,
Yet, now I see her true nature, a bloodsucking parasite.
Once, an angel of light in my star-struck gaze,
Now a golem, a specter in the burning blaze.
Her visage, once my sanctuary, now vile, obscene,
I should’ve foreseen that she was tainted and unclean
"I cannot bear your sight," I declare, broken, torn,
My heart, a sculpture of stone, in her love's scorn.
No more, I will overcome this relentless pain,
For you've petrified my heart, it’ll never feel again.

I have compassion, at least that’s what I try to tell my children.
I can’t even find it within me to kill a mosquito anymore,
and I hate those little bloodsucking mosquitoes, but the sound
the zapper makes when a little unsuspecting mosquito flies
into that little purple light and I hear the crackling sound and spark,
Zzzzzzpt, all I can think about is the pain inflicted before it’s death,
and I remember my husband thinking how helpful he was being
by buying that zapper and showing me how well it worked.
I smiled, and acted appreciative, but after he died I threw it away.
I guess the heart grows more tender as we age and we reflect more
on life and death and how every creature God made has its right to live.
Yes, I do have compassion, yet my children have more than I do
and that is a great thing because that means I have taught them well.

An Ode To Trolls Hackers And Scammers.
.
Hideous evil creatures
Attention seekers
Cowards who hide behind computers
Cold-hearted scavengers
Not unlike preying vultures
.
Childish and pathetic
Bloodsucking leeches
Inflated egotistical heretics
Unhappy with their lot
Blaming everyone else
For what they have got
.
Insecure reprobates
Void of loving
Rabid narcissists
Spreading hate
Incognito dwelling in the dark shadows
Invading innocent victims
Homes and space
A hooded callous destroyer
Without a face
.
Control freaks seeking power
From their lofty tower
Something they lack
But will be paid back
.
Bullies who may escape justice now
But on judgment day they will have to pay
For their evil deeds
And I for one
Can’t wait for that day.

History of folklore in T & T
Influence by West African and Creole Spirituality
Narrated and told around kerosene lamps, our folklore
Characters, deities in ancient tribes before
Legend and stories fused with intricate mythology
Still inhabit conscious vulnerability
PAPA BOIS, the protector of forest, master of animal
DOUEN, child like entity lure children into the supernatural
LA DIABLESSE, the seductress temptress symbol of lust
MAMA D’LEAU the river fairy-maid with long hair, beautiful and lush
Bloodsucking ball of fire SOUCOYANT
Shape changing LAGAHOO phenomenon
Mischievous trouble makers are JUMBIES
Night roaming Ghost afraid of salt, called DUPPIES
The Folkloric tradition preserved by our ancestors
Be it your imagination of half man-half bird atop a car
We’ll always hear stories of all kinds of Folklore and folktale
La! La! La!

Do you hear the devil's laughter?
low within the marsh waters
rustling high the tree tops
Answer not with prayer
but within a smirk of doubt
Don't tilt the boat least you fall in
and a fat gator eats you alive for lunch
Or an angry snapping turtle bites a hunk of flesh off your hide
shoot them copperheads with a bb gun
Silence in this soaked land
a drizzle of rain coats the lush vegetation
It shimmers and shines when the sun breaks loose
Cattails are full
break em and milk comes out
Bloodsucking mosquitoes
tiny vampires that the fat bullfrogs to full to feast on
Dragon flies hover over
and tadpoles dance in a swarm
Black Rail hiding in the reeds
boat gets closer hear him growl
Tiny bird no one ever sees
Ki-Ki-Krrr Ki-Ki-Krrr
Where could you be
I hear but do not see
Time for home and mom's slowed cooked beans
corn bread squares with a tab of sweet butter
Deep in the nightfall
with the bedroom window cracked
do you hear the faint sound of the devil's laughter
hiding lost souls in murky water graves
Black Rail waits for dark
flies away in the midnight sky
fly fly fly
tiny bird with the dark you are safe

inequality lies
not in the dirt streets of a foreign country
or in stories of the past
but today
but in the hearts of women who work and work
to balance
what other women take
that isn't theirs
those bloodsucking women
who learned that victim game
and never made a contribution
to their own lives
yes they
skate
sickness is their currecy
weakness is their game
any woman
shouting about inequality
has to first be sure
she is
pulling her own weight
working her own job
raising her own children
making her own time
giving her life to those that require
her
please god.
