Blaze

I had the nicest rooster,
An Orpington named Blaze.
He was around for several years 
Until a fox ended his days.

His feathers were burnt orange,
A handsome shade of buff.
A pair of deadly spurs
Made him majestic, fierce,and tough.

A regal disposition,
Amiable for the most.
(Though my mom and younger siblings 
Would not usually go to close)

Several years he ruled sovereign,
Though

Pyromaniac

Tonight you'll rise
from the ash of a story
no one claims

Strike a light, toss the match,
face awash, watch it catch

There's glory in the flames!

You'll learn not to take loss too hard
Just turn and cross back through the yard

Let the fire burn whatever remains...

Drooping Flowers, Blaze Of Grass, And Us

Dropping Flowers, Blades Of Grass, And Us

Like flowers droop
but refuse to die
from the heat,
like tanned fields
subsumed in the struggle
to survive and keep
the flow of transpiration,
like the trodden blades  of grass
pushing through sidewalk holes
to capture the cosmic energy
that fuels them onward
the victory they seek
to be free,
we, like all of nature,
must continue to travel
the jubilee road

Magma,
Earth's deep anger,
Fire erupts, ash ascends,
Life's raw, transformative power,
Mountain.

Blessing's Blaze

A radiant star was born one day,
Amidst salary challenges, hardship's sway,
Her parents toiled, their sweat and tears,
To forge a brighter future, calm all fears.

Like phoenix rising, she emerged anew,
Her choices bold, as if the world pursued,
Her watchword, determination, shone so bright,
Guiding her through life's turbulent, darkest night.

Risk-taking's lessons, though bitter, she did learn,

Firestorm The 'Orange Glow'

Scents of burnt embers flowing over my windowsills
Charred are the palm tree fronds that
once fanned the breeze 
Seized are the pods, timbers     
Torches sparking  shrills

Behold the ashes drifting 
as they fall from my smoke-sooted skies
O but in b 'tween choking and tearing eyes       

Aliens! I shouted above the roar of the blaze

Please rescue us from this godforsaken place

Angeles fires jump/kick starting telepathic wife

to a righteous leftist extraterrestrial establishing
