The New Year has come wafting on the wings of winter
The high latitudinal areas of the northern hemisphere
Would be in the grip of frequent snowstorms severe
Throwing life in desolate isolation and out of gear.
The cold wave sub-zero conditions of deprivation would persist
In many sections of...

The razor strap always welted my skin
And quickly crippled my soul as a child
Balled flesh of a hand to my head a sin
The angry pain over time I have exiled
No tears fall now from my time of beating
Nor memories close by an anguished cry
Death to...

Premium Member If I Can
If I can raise a new sun at dawn in dark horizon
I'll color shadows of your broken heart crimson.

If l can become the unfurling petals of flower
I'll bloom as smile in your welted face of despair .

If l can melt storm cloud, make rains of...

Into the Blue

Pain faded into the blue
purplish clots
pooling beneath welted skin

interstitial fluids coalescing,
coagulating, collecting
swallowed tears.

Day had broken the grasp
opened the ever-locked door
taunted the terrified

incited the torment
of acquiescence -
silenced anger.

No locks barred open doors
chains hobbled only memory,
fear’s straight jacket unbuckled.

The blue faded, hidden beneath
old lies,...

Lashes unleashed leave
    Welted wounds scattered
Blue body battered

Tender to the touch
    broken blistering skin
Blue seen within

A bruised body heals
But a broken mind always feels
Blue bruises everywhere

Lay...

Abrasive Hawk
What gallant form from vaunted perch doth alight
Leaving tailwind that unassuming gawkers affright
Whose tawny shadow the sun's rays doth blight;
Swarthy silhouette shading glint so erudite
Whose tan-welted oars the azure seas doth smite;
With swift strokes the ethereal waves doth unrequite
Whose beige shield occludes satin rampart's line...

Concertina: Sonnet For Yom Hashoah
Tonight, I miss God, though I doubt he IS;
All sense of Providence stripped away
Like my wife’s gray smock last time I saw her
Walking naked and welted to showers
From whence the sole cleansing is soul release
From this chamber of horrors which now is
Our life. Dirty Jood...

Premium Member Just Another Valentines Day
Half eaten box of chocolates
A card never read
Welted roses
Burnt toast left from breakfast in bed
Eating a rubber steak
With a no label wine
Such a lovely holiday
To be a valentine
Going through the motions
That are expected
Hoping for sleep
Wanting to be rejected
After a decade or two
Everything becomes routine
Something about...

When I Was Racist
When I was young
And felt a little glum
My Mum would cheer me
With a plum.

I began to eat them daily,
Demolishing entire punnets
With aplomb.

How I loved those big, fat,
Red-purple fruit bombs
Juicing between my lips,
Never failing to elicit
A contented ‘Yum!’

But one night after
Dinner my Mum
Offered me a yellow...

Untouched
A welted flower picked and tossed aside unnoticed and to the earth it soaks in.

My traces and finger prints left behind A name spoken so delicate, A replay of broken words said twice and over again.

tired excuses follow the depths of cold finger tips...

Their bodies stumble
 through the dark,
No mist of air to keep them high...
No circling the beaten ground tonight.
Voices won’t sing,
they will not feed
on single bough of welted tree
this day.
No, not today, not later . Perhaps
when evening comes again,...

The Ropes
I'm a beautiful mess in a dress or some sweats
I confess life is hectic right now and I'm stressed
Wont forget that I'm blessed but it's hard to remember. When I'm stayin at the shelter
With my son and these mice must think they family members

Euphoria of a Rainbow
Euphoria exploiting like sunshine
A rainbow starts to occur
Colors happily emerging
Mist soon to expose thyself from a fierce-looking nimbostratus
Welted roses wait patiently for more than a drink and a chance at life
Intoxicating smell of rain arrives
Birds chirping change notes calmly
Mountain peak tops covered...

Sea of searching tore hope without explanation
Crucified crests cascaded, crazed static fall crashing
Thrown spontaneous needs, unclean situations
Wayward waltz of flotsam incongruity, faith attacking

Tossed by tumult of quick duty drifters expected
Wanton women sought whimsy single wave provided
Crudest crass antics satisfied, longevity rejected

The Bond
For a moment, I thought
that we were sisters.
I always see you at family functions.
We share the same skin. Your voice,
your eyes are the same as mine.
Your shoulders are broad and sturdy.
Just like our mother's, our hips widened
from childbirth.
Some of them
conceived by many men.
The rest,...
