The Visitors
knock knock knock
on my front door
i get up to look
it's lonliness at the door

but quite and still
i would not let
lonliness in so peacefull i slept

morning came
and with the knocks once more
but i kept my temper
and evened the score

inside i sat quietly
wishing he'd go away
but he...

Invisible formations streak
Through clouds around the Moon,
Then delve beneath the canopy
to voice a mortal tune.

Your soul the vessel to impart
In perfect tonal scheme;
One second of a beating heart,
A light year's span, a dream.

Now as you wake in stretching...

Visitors I saw in my garden today were:

9 starlings noisily squabbling
1 duck casually waddling.

1 robin - a handsome little chap
1 bumble bee, that landed on my lap.

2 neighbouring cats, stalking the same prey
1 little mouse, who wears a coat of grey.

3 worms wiggle above the...

Waking, I heard a lovely song.
Somehow, the music didn't belong.
Bell-like in tone, to softly please.
Perhaps was only summer's breeze.
Dreamlike music, not lasting long.

I opened blinds and there, askew
pocket-size fairies spritzing dew.
Midst them smiled a green leprechaun.
Their tiny laughter welcomed dawn--
wee pixies only rainbows knew.

Sun starts...

As summer begins,
frequent visitors woo me;
Mosquitoes in stripes~
Stealing kisses on my cheeks,
Leaving kiss marks left and right.

a yellow bird in the silence of winter
this is curious, so I sneak to my window
moving slowly, so I do not scare it.
a red streak flies across and lands

two cardinals! they are messengers
I have heard of this, but had not experienced it
on a pure white...

Premium Member Sounds of Three Visitors To My Garden
Early morning, the trill
with a buzz, is weighted toward the beak,
tail twitching, side to side,
underside barred: my friendly wren.

The click in the heavy heat of summer
the bright flame on winter day or hidden in shade
the silent rustle, the graying double,
steady chew, chew,...

Visitors
Spirits riding time,
in swirling clouds, mist and fog,
off the bluff they rolled.

Special thanks to James Marshall Goff for taking the time to explain haiku to me in a manner
that helped me to appreciate its imagery and rigid format.

"Visitors" is a spin-off from another poem...

The midnight hour is upon me and the moon and stars are shining so bright.
As I awakened I arose and looked out my window. Below dancing on my lawn
were a dozen or so fairies. I watched them as their wings began to flitter...

Oh so nice to see you at this hour
Going bed? No, a dressing gown
is my evening attire.
what's mine is yours to share
Of course it's not too much.
How much was your taxi fare?
I may be a pensioner little money to spend
But what's a...

HELLO DR. SEUSS – DO COME IN

There’s a BEAR
On my STAIR,
And I wish it
Wouldn’t STARE!
There’s a WUPBOARD,
In my CUPBOARD
And a DOX
In my BOX,
I know there’s a DARSKET,
In my BASKET
And perhaps a ZUBOON sitting
Next to my BABOON
Who resembles a BUFFOON!
Then there's SCRUB
Who lives...

They are coming
They never do
It is a first in a long time
I will not focus on the fact
That it is their turn
The road runs two ways
And they have not been here for five years

Releasing all disappointment and anger
into the wind, I relax and think...
