Best Veggies Poems

Veggies

Asparagus and artichokes
May be good for us it’s true

But I won’t eat a vegetable
Our disposal can’t even chew

Veggies, veggies, I sure love my veggies

Just about any that you can name

A salad a day for more than two years now

You'd think I would tire of 'em but hey, not me

Still the best meal of the day

With my favourite Poppy Seed Dressing

What could be better

A meal fit for a king, hmmm maybe not

A kings feast is comprised of raw meat

With beautiful slave girls standing by

Waiting to grant me my every wish

Hmmm! That sure sounds pretty good to me

How does one become king

Is there some exam you have to pass

I'm a pretty smart cookie

Should pass it with flying colours

Would like a crown of solid gold

Bedazzled with rubies and sapphires

An ermine cloak and dazzling rings on every finger!

Am I overdoing it, you think

This all started out talking about veggies

Did you noticed at what point it started down a different path

Oh well back to boring old veggies

Somehow they've lost their appeal

Gotta leave you now

Going to take than exam to hopefully become king

Veggies, veggies, veggies!

Eat Your Veggies!!

Eat your spinach!
Eat your corn!
Eat your gosh-darn sweet peas!!
Only if your plate is empty,
Will you be able to appease...
My sense of indignation,,,
People starving some where in China...
And you have to grow up strong...
There is no food that's finer!
So shut your mouth of talking
and clean up all your plate!
So God doesn't get so angry,
And seal your young immature fate!

My Veggies, If You Please

All I want is stew, please.
I really want it, I lie to you not.
Please, just place my veggies in the pot.

Kale

by Wayne Wysocki

I'm eating kale to slim my waist
Lord knows it's not because of taste
It took some while to appreciate
The leafy green I love to hate

The fibrous queen of super foods
Can satisfy nutrition prudes,
And comes in leafy shapes galore:
Curly, Tuscan, dinosaur

For variation I can gnaw
This crucifer sautéed or raw,
Just as is, or baked as chips,
A smoothie blend to please my lips

But having said all that, I'll add
Too much of anything is bad,
And I've been craving, as of late,
A change of greens to grace my plate

I now peruse the produce aisle
To find the foods that make me smile
It's time to choose my next big thing
Like watercress or collards green

I'll greet my new nutrition trend
And say goodbye to you, old friend
Kale, we've had a lovely run,
But now my time with you is done.

Eat My Veggies

My mom told me to eat my vegetables but i threw them under the table
hoping the dog would eat them all because i knew i was'nt able

She fixed my plate and made it pretty with corn and giant peas
She told me it was good for me to help fight off decease

but when it came time for me to take a bite i could'nt hold it down
it came back up my throat and out my mouth and it scattered all around

so that day i made a vow and i also made a pledge
that no one would ever fool me into eating another veg.

Ice cream used to be a special treat of mine
But veggies have replaced it, most are divine
Especially Brussels Sprouts

Veggies, yeah veggies, love em ten out of nine

Fruits and Veggies

Boys and girls, I want to let you know.
That fruits and veggies don’t mysteriously
Show up at the grocery store.
They are planted by farmers,
Who sow seeds that are watered,
And maybe treated with some type of fertilizer.
The farmer gives the seeds time to sprout with leaves.
Then he or she clears the ground from harmful weeds,
That could cause them to get a disease.

Then after a few months, you will see much growth.
The fruits and veggies are picked, cleaned well,
And shipped to the grocery store.
So love the farmer,
He is not just some country guy or girl.
He is a good citizen who takes care of the world.
So, now boys and girls you know how fruits and veggies grow.

Eat your veggies you'll grow up big and strong
That's what parents used to tell little boys
I'm wondering what they told dainty little girls
Must have used some other devious ploy

Like eat your veggies you sweet young thing
Boys will come knocking at your door
This underhanded method of cajoling offsprings
Was quite normal in the days of yore

The kiddies of today are much more aware
The Internet's where they get their facts
If you try to bombard them with the stuff we got
They'll look at you as if you're cracked

Time marches on in a time honoured fashion
Yesterday's technology is old hat
You no sooner buy the latest up to date gadget
When a newer version supersedes that

When will this joy ride ever come to an end
Probably never so best get used to it
Keep eating your veggies it's still a good plan
Eating healthy will help you stay fit

I gathered veggies from my garden—once again, a winner!
I licked my lips just thinking how delish they’d be for dinner.
At last I got them on to cook and settled down to read my book.
When choking caused me to awake, I knew I had to have a look.
Then as the smoky room I crossed, “Alas!” I cried. “Love’s labor lost."
