Premium Member Today Is a Gift To Us All

The thing about today is that:
It will be different than any other day
Many different factors will share in the reasons
That today will be completely original
The people we encounter can play a huge role
In the way that our day plays out
We have no control over how these people may act
No control over what they may say or do
We can however control the way we allow it to affect us
I have met and been friends with
About every type of person that there is
From healers to killers I have met them all
Shared meals and how we feel;the pressure of it all
I used to allow outside influences
                                                 Like these people
To play a role in how my day would go
Then one day I realized that if you remove the water from the falls
All that you have left is a cliff
And of course a hole at the bottom
All the breathtaking beauty of the waterfall is gone
All because some fool decided to build a dam to divert the water
The River had no choice in how its day would go
It had no choice in allowing an outside force
                                                        To change its course
Of where it would end today
We have a choice, no matter what anyone does
We can stay on course and maintain the original beauty of our day
As long as we always remember
That this day belongs to us
The only thing that can change that is God, for it is his gift to us all

The fresh morning air,
crisp, wet, fragrant, alive
delivers a shock to the sleeping mind
waking the senses
coming out of a drowsy yawn
the new day dawns with vibrant colors
echoing the motivation for change in my soul
bright reds and golds warm the chilled,
dew covered earth
with the promise of tenderness and love
the rising sun itself strengthens the
resolve made in the darkness of night
to grasp onto life
to live it!
To Love it!
Not to let anymore of it pass by
with pessimistic lethargy
a brand new day has begun
breathe in the vigor,
feel the promise,
live the power!

Questions of Life

Sitting here at work day in day out,
Running my machine mind filled with doubt.

Wondering, pondering about what I’ve become,
Have I done things right? All my task overcome?

Am I happy where I am? Is this what I want to do?
If I could change one thing, would I even want to?

So many questions cloud my mind,
Like the city smog from the daily grind.

Then out of the blue comes a vision so clear,
It sets my mind at rest as the questions disappear.

I see my two children sitting in my lap,
All passed out in my chair taking a nap.

Then I remember why I am where I am,
It’s for my children. It’s all about them.

So I’ll put my mind to rest for now,
Until I ask again what, where, when, why and how.

Battle Ground

Do you feels inside's a battle?
And you just can't seem to win
One day you feel so happy
The next day you feel like sin.

Do people keep reminding you
Of the wrong you did before
And when you feel you're doing well
They just knock you on the floor.

Let me just encourage you
Your battle has been won
For our enemy the devil
Was defeated by God's Son.

Remember to be on your guard
Of thoughts that come within
For the devil longs to knock you down
And remind you of your sin.

So stand your ground my christian friend
In the armour God has given
For He has dealt with all our sin
Our Savior who is risen.

So next time these thoughts arise
Remind him what is written
For in Christ you stand today
Victorious and forgiven.

Turn Your Words Into Action

Its time to turn your words into action.
Start the formula for the chain reaction.
Nothing will be easy about the path you've chosen.
You need to break through the ice, become unfrozen.

Its time to choose, now or never.
Break the chains, start the endeavor.
When everything is against you and everyone expects you to lose.
You can never give in, you must refuse.

Show them you will no longer take the abuse.
You'll hang your head high, without their noose.
During the hardest times, stand up and proclaim,
I'll make it through this, you will remember my name.

Each day you know its real by the pain you feel.
Even the deepest unseen wounds, will one day heal.
No matter how far or close you are to the finish line,
don't let anyone hold you back, say victory is already mine.

Come With Me

You question why I wish to live
In isolation among the wilds,
Forsaking all society gives
And its lure of ventures beguiled?
To answer this I can't decree
In words what lacks simplicity
Instead, why not come with me
To taste my eccentricities.

Come with me to stand
Atop a snowy mountain's peak
To gaze at miles of virgin land
The beauty of which words can't speak.
Come, let it strip away your cares
And then perchance you just may dare
To feel the peace that's waiting there
Atop that snowy mountain fair.

Come with me and walk
Along a winding river's brink
To listen to the wood thrush talk
Or watch a doe come out to drink.
Come, watch the beaver's clever craft
Then pause to hear what few men have
Come stroll along that peaceful path
To listen to your spirit laugh.

Come with me and run
Through golden fields of flowing grain
Then pausing there to fill your lungs
Take time to smell the windblown plains.
Come, watch the merry butterfly
Float 'cross an amber colored sky
And hear the earth give out her sigh
As now the day says his goodbye.

Come with me and sleep
And lay beneath the star strewn skies
In timbered heights, so dark and deep
To find repose for weary eyes.
Come, think of all you've seen today
Of Mother Nature's grand display
And once we have knelt down to pray
Then let your dreams come out to play.

Then arise with the sun
And return to society
To work until the day is done
On another man's proprieties.
Think then of our day gone past
And of these questions you've asked
You'll know then why I'm an outcast
Who's chosen the more tranquil path.

Kiss In Daycare

I remember her from my daycare
Not even sure if I was yet in underwear
She had blue eyes and blonde hair
I guess I was dab and debonair.

From the first day we began to play blocks
We hit the point of stealing each others socks
I could tell it was heating up
Because she drank from my spill free cup!!

At days end we were lining up at the door
She jumped in front of me as she had done before.
Then it happened, it happened so fast
It was a magical moment from my wee little past

She bent slightly forward, eyes closed, puckered lips…
I thought what is wrong with her face and hips
I did not see it coming just thought something was amiss
But she ended my day and started my life with my first kiss.

Now this tale might be a little tall
But so was everything when I was small
Her name was Shanna and it did happen in daycare
So my story is not too tall from there.

Childlike Faith With Hopes and Dreams

Children dream of Christmas Day with presents around a tree
Their birthday is a favorite day for the presents it will bring
A life with little problems full of joy to spread around
How soon it quickly fades away as adulthood breaks the ground

Life soon starts to escalate and problems once minuscule
Bring about unhappy times in a world once full of joy
All the hopes and dreams once shared now just fond memories
Wishing that what was back then was still society

Dreams replaced with troubles and fear, a life now not their own
Trained now to assume the worse, as life moves swiftly on
A parent’s heart will ache within for what life has become
Now blame is placed for time erase the damage they think they have done

We all know life is not simple and at times can be plain hard
Moments pass us by each day we feel no use to go on
But instilled in each and every soul is a promise made long ago
That through it all both good and bad God will protect each soul

So if today you face a trial, let’s face it, we all do
Find that inner child inside, you will find out what to do
Sometimes a little childlike faith mixed in our hopes and dreams
Will bring about a blessing and answer, just try it and you will see

The Queen

All the night she hear her parents fight,
-and come the morn the storm has yet to die.
Tears upon a cheek,
is how no child should be.
It's so hard sometimes,
watching it unwind.
-But when the sun has set,
and it's time for bed, she goes to sleep,
and in her dreams,
she becomes a Queen.
Oh, yes, she becomes a Queen.
It'll be ok, trust me,
one day she'll be free,
'cause I believe, she will see,
that she is a Queen.
Someday, she will be The Queen.

All the day she slave until she weak,
-juggling responsibilities.
Emptiness inside,
is no kind of life.
It's so hard sometimes,
to take things in stride.
-But when the sun has set,
and it's time for bed, she goes to sleep,
and in her dreams,
she becomes a Queen.
Oh, yes, she becomes a Queen.
It'll be ok, trust me,
one day she'll be free,
'cause I believe, she will see,
that she is a Queen.
One day, she will be The Queen.

All the afternoon you woo my eye,
-everyday I watch you pass me by.
Things inside my soul,
you may never know.
It's so hard sometimes,
finding the right lines.
-But before this song ends,
one thing must be said, listen to me,
you're what I need,
would you be my Queen?
Oh, yes, would you be my Queen?
I would bow down on one knee,
for your majesty,
'cause I believe, to be complete,
you must be The Queen.
Just say, you will be my Queen.

I'll say it one more time,
before I say goodbye.
You can do anything,
be anyone you like.
-Just believe,
in yourself, you'll see,
you can be a Queen.

I believe...
You will be The Queen.

The Wall

When I first met you, you were full of pain, so you built up a wall,
and you hid inside, but your life was dark, and you lived in vain.

When you discovered I loved you, and you found out how deep,
that wall began to crumble, and now it's just a heap.

With no wall between us, life has been swell, no longer are you
living in an infernal hell.

Every day I want to sing, and thank the Lord for all He brings,
my love remains ever true, and each passing day I still love you.

Age, Old?

Growing old loses sanity, brings to life real time
Permanent scars soon appear, days are long and dreary
A gift to some, age brings forth wisdom
Curse to those who fear demise
Each one alive will reach this time
Enjoy the benefits

Respect is granted to the older one, years of life show favor
Younger ones will seek advice, a true American idol
Why question fate enjoy the attention
It is earned through years of experience
Some day will come you mark my word
Shoes will be empty

Some curse the day age will come, why? It makes no difference
Mirrors never tell a lie, Vanity becomes the hated
Why dread the day you show your age
Friends will all still love you
Think of the owl, this wise old soul
Enjoy for God has blessed you

The Day Has Come I Realize

The day has come that I realize
that my soul has been slayed
killed by its murderous blade of lies and shame
don't understand it probably never will
I try to keep hope for the future
but my light gets blown out every time like candles on a birthday cake
crashing me down and spiting on my face while they laugh

My dad said I'm a leader, but I'm starting to second guess his words
starting to think I am a follower sent to do others will
I'm the sheep that has been lead to the slaughter
Like the Christ put on the cross for our sins

And pray for all my friends that are in Hell
the ones I couldn't save the ones I couldn't make the sell
for the ones who are locked up in the cold cell
we have problems that only human, but I just hate that we have so many of them

This is my last verse to tell
I don't know why I get back up I just do
Is it because of faith, truth, love, pride, or just stupidity?
I won't know the reason until the smoke clears
this is my proclamation I will stay strong
even when I get knocked down I will get right back up
The day has come I realize

Day By Day

Life is not an easy task
To live it day by day
For every step that we take
We must think along the way.

There may be some different paths
That we must over come
For once we have conquered them
We are proud of what we’ve done.

We set goals we try to reach
Taking that extra stride
Wanting so much to succeed
When we do we fill with pride.

So much we want to complete
Struggles may come our way
One must always give their all
Living their life day by day.

You Don'T Have To Be Perfect

My body may be mangled - I can't write or talk - My legs may be immobile therefore I
cannot walk - My hands and arms may tremble from nerves I can't control - But there's one
thing that will not change - God's Spirit is in my soul. Although I can't express in words the
way I really feel - I know the love of Jesus Christ within my heart is real - I know some
people look at me and think and deaf and blind - But they don't even have a clue what's
going through my mind - Of course there are some times I think of how I used to be - But
God and I've been talking and He has a job for me - He wants me like I am for now so
people know it's true - You don't have to be perfect for God to work through you - Yes the
Lord is using me just the way I am - He is my great Shepherd and I'm His precious lamb - It
may not be until the day the Lord comes back again - but that will be the greatest day there
has ever been That day I'll kneel before God's throne and with my voice I'll sing - then I will
leap into the arms of Jesus Christ my King!

What's His Name?

J is for Joy in the time of sorrow
When you think there's no hope for tomorrow.
E is for Everlasting, that's what His Love is,
from day to day never passing.
S is for the Suffering on the cross,
for all of us who are loss.
U is for Unity, one day we'll all be in Eternity.
S is for Serenity when we're able to behold all of His creativity.
So, as you can see that Jesus is His Name,
And we that have breath should always praise His Holy Name.
