Age, Old?

Growing old loses sanity, brings to life real time
Permanent scars soon appear, days are long and dreary
A gift to some, age brings forth wisdom
Curse to those who fear demise
Each one alive will reach this time
Enjoy the benefits

Respect is granted to the older one, years of life show favor
Younger ones will seek advice, a true American idol
Why question fate enjoy the attention
It is earned through years of experience
Some day will come you mark my word
Shoes will be empty

Some curse the day age will come, why? It makes no difference
Mirrors never tell a lie, Vanity becomes the hated
Why dread the day you show your age
Friends will all still love you
Think of the owl, this wise old soul
Enjoy for God has blessed you
