Happy Father’s Day to my Late Son Rob

My son, my sweet son, you now are at rest.
Of all fathers my son, you were the best!
Your son emulates you the best he can.
You taught him how to become a great man.

Almost twenty years you shared with your wife,
With family love you lived a great life.
Organs you donate will help others live,
A legacy you unselfishly give.

I am proud of you son, as you take part,
Some fortunate soul will live with your heart.
You tried to live and put up a great fight.
As you depart and go into the light,

Your sisters will miss you, you helped each one.
You were a great brother, my precious son.
You were only with us forty four years.
You’ll be remembered with love not our tears.

June 1, 2021

I wish all you Father’s a very Happy Father’s Day!

*This poem was written for my late son Rob who
had a severe stroke and was pronounced brain dead on
May 29, 2021. He saved over 6 lives by donating his
organs. Rob leaves behind my eleven year old grandson
Brody, and his wife Akiko. I want to thank each of you
who prayed for my son to recover. Thank you all for your
kind condolences. The love sent from my poetic family has
helped me greatly.

Premium Member The Silver Ring Virginia Gave To Me

The silver ring Virginia gave to me
has been in my possession many years.
And though it's only costume jewelry,
how beautiful to me it still appears!

The first time I saw shining on her hand
the silver ring Virginia gave to me,
I was amazed. I said I loved it, and
she parted with it so unselfishly!

So pretty is its pattern - filigree.
She took it off her hand, and it became
the silver ring Virginia gave to me,
its stone of azure blue bright as a flame!

This year I learned Virginia passed away.
To think in nearly half a century
I'd seen her not, yet kept until this day
the silver ring Virginia gave to me.

Written Nov. 3, 2016 ,
For Broken Wing's Old Jewelry or Just Old Things or Old, Old Poems Contest

(Virginia was a few years older than me when i saw this ring on her finger during church youth group. I was maybe 13 years old and was so surprised
when she just took it off her finger and let me have the pretty treasure!
I heard she lived a very good life. I never saw her again after I left for college.)

Warriors Final Due

The moon had held a wickedness
So unlike many of night I've seen
Embraced in an eerie listessness
While projecting an ominous scene

This night a warriors life was lost
One who unselfishly fought for all
She'd pay no matter what the cost
Her battles she picked, was her call

See it wasn't by beast's razor claw
She was too wise for them you see
Warriors hold at least one fatal flaw
One taking her life setting her free

It was much like an evil deception
One thing she was unprepared for
Like every rule held an exception
This one cut deep to her very core

The downfall of so many it seems
Struck down by the blade of a love
Laying there her blood did stream
Had to rise was all she thought of

High above that love raised his sword
With a swoop drove it deep in her heart
Her eyes stared at the one she adored
He broke her soul, that's the worst part

Her story will live on for the good done
How what a brave soul she held so true
Yet she knew for all the battles she won
Brought her even closer to her final due

~Kindness~
(Anaphora)

Kindness is to show you care in any way
Kindness is giving something unselfishly
Kindness is to show respect to anyone we meet or know
Kindness is showing compassion when someone needs it to
Kindness is giving a sincere smile
Kindness is loving and caring for others
Kindness is saying a kind word or two
Kindness is being nice to each other
Kindness is not being rude to anyone
Kindness is spreading God's love to all.

you’re my precious gift
from Him, I gladly received
I praise and thank Him

when you talk to me
time is no longer lonely
night seems like a day

you’re an awesome friend
a sister to me as well
two-in-one God’s gift

your knowledge and skills
always unselfishly shared
your praise: mind tonic

my inspiration
in all my writing passions
you have touched my life

though you're far away
in my thoughts and in my pray'r
you are here to stay

moments that we have
be kept in my treasure box
I thank you so much

may our friendship lasts
as I keep you in my heart
forever you’re loved

Premium Member Kissing In the Rain

rain’s paean is played
with lover’s tender kisses
cold breeze sways with grace

water on the ground
symphony of crystal drops
kisses warmth their heart

moonlight smiles with glee
dark clouds shower them with bliss
thunder drums so sweet

one heart and one soul
unselfishly shield, no fear
rain’s concluding hymn

Tribute To My Dearest Daughter

Tribute to My Dearest Daughter

My darling daughter,
Precious child of my youth,
Dearest to my heart -
From that wonderful moment
When I first felt that fluttering of life,
Rhythmically beating beneath my expectant bosom,
I knew that I would unconditionally love you forever.

With deep motherly pride
I helped you develop into womanhood
Watching you become a strong, well-rounded woman.
A loving mother yourself, you are not only a blessing
To your own children and your family,
But you are also a blessing to others -
Those who hurt in life and need care and compassion.

With its ups and downs, life has transformed you,
Challenged, nurtured, matured, and molded you.
You are kind, thoughtful, generous, patient, and understanding,
Unselfishly expecting nothing in return.
You are a wonderful human being -
You are a true angel.
God bless you, my dearest daughter, my love!

Love the Unlovable

love the unlovable,
when its time to let go,do not cry.
loosen you grip, divide the fingers,
and wish them well
for you were the only person who opened your
cold bones to the untrusting thrones
of the unknown.
giving so unselfishly,
while wishing them the best
while on this cold,
not in your control journey
you fed them the best knowelege
know watch them walk away
no thank you's,no hugs,
love the unlovable

Premium Member Johnny Cash, a Southern Gentleman

by Tyr-Ziu Saxnot » Sat Mar 26, 2011 12:46 am

                             Johnny Cash, a Southern Gentleman

I knew Johnny Cash but never got to shake his hand

A hero, myth and a legend to so many that adored him

To me he was just a country boy , fine Southern gentleman

Entertaining , caring and unselfishly giving his best to them

He wrote and performed music of the simple freedom and country ways

Lyrics so heartfelt that tears naturally fell gloriously from the skies

Of love , life , danger, death and redemption that brings greater days

Seeking the answers to the questions of the how, where, when and whys

Gifting us all with his spirit and his love of helping those in need

Joyfully playing his music while dividing up his soul to share

Offering up his amazing life complete with it's heart to bleed

His love of life and concern for others never yielding there

His music taking second place only to his beautiful soul

Those crazy, wild and daringly foolish younger escapades

Only served to endear him to us while making his legend grow

May his memory live longer than the stars that heaven made.....

Thinking of Suzanne - Raised On Radio

Thinking of Suzanne – Raised on Radio

Raised on radio, I still listen
to haunting love songs that sadly
remind me of you, lovely Suzanne,
of times when we couldn’t get enough
of each other, body and soul blazing with fire.
Oh Baby, I prayed with all my heart
that it could have been you;
you with the eyes of a woman,
so perceptive, so desirable, and so in love;
you with your soft, warm, positive touch,
that arouses and electrifies all my senses;
always unselfishly happy to give
totally and unconditionally to me.
But now you say it’s all over.
You say you don’t love me anymore.
Please stay, don’t take the magic away.
Why can’t this night go on forever?
Oh girl, can’t help it, you’re my life;
and once you love somebody,
letting go is the hardest thing to do.
But somehow, I’ll survive and
I’ll be alright without you.
So my sweet love, be good to yourself,
and just know this man will think of you,
when our special song plays on the radio.

Premium Member My Soul Iq

My Soul IQ, in general, is fine,
but nowhere near as high as that of souls
who live a life as though it is divine -
humanitarians with lofty goals
like Ghandi and the many others who
affect great changes in society.
I think of common folks who also do
uncommon good and who unselfishly
give so much of themselves to those in need,
like those adopting orphans. That’s a lot!
I can’t imagine doing such a deed.
I’m not that generous with time I’ve got.
I’m patient and I’m kind, but next to some,
my Soul IQ is like that of a crumb!

Terrorize Me Not

Terrorists think they can intimidate me,
or we on this rock that sits in the sea,
this civilization that conquered the oceans,
we are world famous while they are no ones.

If you think that you can intimidate us,
by hiding a bomb in a bag on a bus,
or exploding explosives in a sold out arena,
then you must be a less evolved creature.

You believe you need to die for your God,
I believe I should die protecting my lot,
and what we believe we believe equally,
so don't think that you can succeed easily.

If I fight back am I terrorized?
No I am not I don't run and hide.
I do not need a cape or disguise
to take down the most cowardly guys.

So I call on those who are brave to all rise,
protect our island risking our lives,
refuse to back down, stay stood side by side,
if we fight back they can't terrorize.

Would you be prepare to make this sacrifice?
Be a real man, protect children and wives,
unselfishly fight and possibly die.
When it's your duty, when it's your time.

Lest we forget you should you fight.
Lest we forget those who did fight.

Lest we forget.

Premium Member Let Us Love

If
There is anything worth
Dying for, my friend, it is
LOVE:
Love for our God
Love for our country
Love for our family
Love for our friends
Love for our fellow Man
Love for love's sake,

Because

There is nothing nobler,
Nothing more dignified
Nothing more elevated
Nothing more holly
Nothing more sacred
Nothing more divine than love,

For love

Is God's voice
Is God's will
Is God's wisdom
Is God's determination to
Unify the Cosmos and Man alike
And
By doing so to make both of them
whole!

Therefore

Let us love my friend:
Let us love unselfishly
Let us love unconditionally
Let us love altruistically
Let us love compassionately
Let us love benevolently

For

That is the only way
The anxiety of Man for human affairs
Forever
Would disappear and peace and harmony
Shall be established on our planet and in
Our souls!

Premium Member Yellow Brick

" (Two roads) diverged in a yellow wood and I choose the

the one less traveled by and that has made

                              all the difference. "

                                             Quote by - Robert Frost

YELLOW BRICK

Unintentionally urgent,
to choose or refuse,
to flee, to fly
possibly to die.
Excuse: just a child…

The clickety clack
attack of the narrow.
The meeting of strangers
along the way -
both good and evil.

Badly, she wanted to go home.
Bravely, she’d have to pursue
fear, fire, the witching hour.

Apples, red, near the yellow brick -
temptation, thirst, famishment.
Off the path, into dark woods…

Tricks are well-travelled - reveal
weaknesses - coveting, weary, greed…

One could endure the orbs, slapping,
soliciting, addicting; fall asleep, dream…

She’d not a brain in her head, her father said.
Her sister thought her a coward.
Her brother thought her heartless.
Would she listen to the talking heads…

She sighed, did not succumb to temptation…
It was only a bit farther, just around the corner.

This path, though fraught with anxiety
and danger, with pratfalls - dousing
a witch with water, missing her ride…

When she’d suffered, and died to self,
she’d unselfishly cherish her kin ‘til death.

She’s smarter than her years, her dad would say.
How brave you must have been, her sister would praise.
her brother sees, she’s all heart…

The crossroads came
in a most unexpected way -
a whirlwind adventure!
