Best Umbrellas Poems

Premium Member Myriads of Umbrellas

Myriads of umbrellas
like I’ve never seen
floating upward brilliant red,
yellow, pink and green.

Many happy thoughts must be
in the springtime breeze,
or bright hope could not ascend
high above the trees!

Opened up, hope shelters us
from the rains of gloom.
Losing sight of happiness
would be mankind’s doom.

Peace and love must guide our thoughts
so we might see rise
myriads of umbrellas
through all earth’s blue skies!

RAIN---OF WEALTH---

Bless by the rain
Refreshing glory outside
Destiny of clear white gold
Purified from heaven
Who Needs An Umbrella?

***Wet & Wild***
//Loving Nature Out Loud
//Rain is the gold, Earth holds
//A journey upon this world

Premium Member Forgotten Umbrellas

Umbrellas become afterthoughts
once the rain has cleared away,
And are left behind like discarded lovers
whose partners have moved on for a brighter day.

Held close and tight when the need was there;
opening up to let you in;
Cast aside when confidence has been restored;
forgotten like an embarrassing sin.

And yet, they hang around;
Waiting for the next lover to come along
who needs protection from the coming storm,
prepared to repeat their lovelorn song.

Are you the long-lost lover or the umbrella hung upside down?
Do you give your all to protect those you love or do you run around?

The Upside-Down Umbrellas

My dad made large upside-down umbrellas which I’m told
Won't keep the water above us from hitting us as we walk the road
But will hold the dirt and dust that's left of us as we corrode
Keeping it from falling and being washed away in the river below.

Impenetrable and round canvases of black
They go in a hole underground with a rod attached
The rods have rocks serving as bases that suspend them above ground, in their place
And braces to keep the underground canvases open-face

As useless as they are in the rain today
We maintain the upside-down umbrellas and we quietly pray
They will keep us all dry one day.

Umbrellas

I’m learning how to fly
My Mummy says I’ll be outstanding
She say’s I need to do a little
Practice on my landing
She said to stay low level
And to use my common sense
So I’m practising by jumping
With umbrellas, off the fence

Premium Member Colored Umbrellas

Colored umbrellas, they’re surely carried
Each woman has with her colorful masts
Rain did plow down from the sky and harried
Reflection from the all too wet ground casts

Each woman has with her colorful masts
Stopping the rain from reaching their soft hair
Reflection from the all too wet ground casts
They see their faces, looking like they care

Stopping the rain from reaching their soft hair
The umbrella does function as a block
They see their faces, looking like they care
Through the reflection of the time’s tick-tock

The umbrella does function as a block
The rain falls so softly now, runs on down
Through the reflection of the time’s tick-tock
The air is filled with moisture on their crown

The rain falls so softly now, runs on down
Rain did plow down from the sky and harried
The air is filled with moisture on their crown
Colored umbrellas, they’re surely carried

Umbrellas

Why do we hide from the tears
of a lonely city street
beneath the lunacy of a parasol,
undulating jelly-fish like,
dodging shadows,

Coquettishly enticing moths to the flame
of our swirling prisms,
distracting ourselves
with unwanted desires.

Flamboyant flirts tempting the sun
while denying its warmth,
deflecting the rain
yet craving its moist kisses.

Do we fear
the melting of our façade,
the softening of our dry lips,
the awakening of our love
for a lonely city street.

Premium Member A Rainy Day

The rain is raining all around my sister Bella
and me; pounding a rhythmic beat on top
of our pretty colorful umbrellas
as we hold them high, high above our heads.

Utter excitement virtually spreads.
Our spoiled hearts and spirits, begins to soar.
We are perfectly waterproof wearing
yellow and red raincoats and galoshes.
Wanting more, more rain to rain all-around,
hearing those raindrops falling to the ground.
Jumping up and down in puddles making
splish-splash sound wishing it will never stop.

The rain, the welcome cool, cool rain daring;
jumping, giggling, and singing with pleasure.

As I fall down on the wet ground with a
big Kerplop! With a jubilant bark, Frasier
our dog runs up to me, paws on my chest
smothering me with wet kisses being a pest.

Umbrellas

Useful on rainy days
  Underneath ashen skies
       Unleashed springs awaken;
             Upthrust in defiance.
                  Unobserved by others
                          Undercover kisses
                                 Utilise their shelter.

Let the Life Under the Umbrellas

Let’s leave the cats
Thinking like cats,
Stretch and sleep,

Let’s leave the turtles,
Thinking like turtles,
Love the green salad,

Let’s leave the oranges,
Thinking like oranges,
With sweet orange juice,

Let the girls
Think like girls
With black rimmel on the eyes,

Let us listen
Soften thoughts
By Jean Sebastian Bach,

Let’s leave the flowers
In the wild
Thinking like flowers,

Let’s leave the French
Think like French people,
Take care of everything,

Let’s leave the sky,
All pink in Oregon,
All blue in Marseille,

Let’s leave the dogs
Bark like a dog.
Thinking that people are bad,

Let’s leave the table,
Think like a table,
At the lunch hour.

Let’s leave the rabbit,
Think like a rabbit,
Being afraid of everything,
Stew with brown sauce,

Let’s leave the words
Think like words,
Write our poems,

Let’s give time
Slip through the fingers,
Thinking about tomorrow,

Let’s leave the sea
Go down to the sea,
Think like water,

Let the life,
Think like us,
That all ends one day,
Even love,

Let’s leave the cats,
Thinking like cats,
Stretch and sleep,

Let the life
Under the umbrellas,
Let’s all enjoy her.

Underneath Umbrellas

Unusually uninviting ultraviolets unleashes unrelenting unpleasantness underneath unique umbrellas,

uncomfortably upsetting us,

until umbra unexpectedly unloads ultimate Utopia upon us.
