Premium Member Shackles of Love

Shackles of cynicism have displaced your heart,
the love that once transcended time is no more.

No wordsmith can bring beauty to an invisible emotion,
lost in translation to an ignorant uncultured mind.
As you searched for a definition of the tangible,
intangible feelings were ignored, even with eyes shut.

Funny, how three words cause a chemical imbalance,
but the euphoria is short lived when ego takes hold.
Promises to comfort, wipe away tears, anguish and pain,
come with no guarantee of satisfaction - no refund for regret.

Love does not say when the fire is burning to wage war,
it provides an opportunity to nourish peace and harmony.
Love does not say to be bitter and live with a grudge,
it asks for you to forgive, not to antagonise another's soul.

In a world lost to materialistic commercialism,
the skeptic doubts like a pessimistic detractor.
Love is not like money, that must be reciprocated with interest,
it is simply an undetectable phenomenon that graces us all.

To some a second hand emotion, but the language of love
still remains the most powerful feeling known to humanity.
One tongue that has no religion, race nor geographical boundary,
which only fails to blossom when limits are implanted.

To The Brink For The Ink Crack Like Fissures

Another page scarred with ink. Upon her page, I see red ink
branded by the thoughts I think. Tattooed thoughts, that make me think
My mind imprisoned, feel the burn, Within intricate patterns, my heart it learns
past the point of no return. As I slip off her ledge, my spirit churns
Faces bob like buoys in an ocean, For her mind, it is an ocean
I'm sea sick to societies motion. I'm lost upon, her wave like motion
Clutter intoxicates my brain, Intoxication, it fills my brain
filling me with failure and pain. Strange impressions, as I view her pain
Forcing sleep deprivation muse, bubbling from my mind, feelings break loose
cigarette, pot and coffee abuse. I'm transported back, to my own abuse
Five A.M. and the pressure is strong Crack like fissures, emotions strong
to make these words move along. I feel I've known her all along
My audience awaits but I'm still She grants me audience, within places still
writing rhymes against my will. Her rhymes resonate, until I bow to her will
Blocked by need I'm suffocated, lungs filled fully, never suffocated
my joy becomes what I've hated. She’s one transcended, not filled with hatred
I can't escape the vines I've grown, a climbing flower, I've see how she's grown
notebook prison, I cry alone. With her notebook open, she's never alone
All this angst and misery, She transcends angst and misery
all for the love of writing poetry. Within her glowing landscape of poetry

Koorosh the Great, Friend

All of my heart
One tear
Or one Monsoon
No amount, no grandeur
Can express the sorrow
Oh yes, I am sad, I am saddened
I am in sorrow
I am swimming in the darkness
I am missing something
That can not be said in words

Koorosh the great was a prophecy
For only now have we seen
The truth of greatness
Not by Victory, but by kindness
We are blessed to have seen
How simple life can be
Love your life
Your family
Your friends
Bring everyone laughter
Create, envision and dream
Everyone who knows you feels special
Your father taught you well
Kindness that transcended generations
In the end
A humble man
No god could make him bitter
He was as he always was and more
A kind man

Only when you remove a tree from the garden
Do you realize
The tree was the garden
The flowers bloomed for the tree
The people sought shade and comfort

Quietly, I weep
For him
For his family
For life

If all great leaders followed his path
What a beautiful world we would have
He inspired
He smiled
Corey, you are missed

Notes: Dedicated to my friend Corey Fazel who just recently passed away before his time. Corey, you will be missed by many many people. It is you with your friendly pertinence that got me to swim, and that alone has changed my life, I will remember the many evenings and dinners we talked about all things under the sun.

MSA is Multiple System Atrophy, a terrible and debilitating disease that attacks the nervous system. It has many of the symptoms of Parkinson, however from onset one has very few years of life left.

Premium Member The Mythology of Pegasus

Born from the neck of his beheaded mother,
as her blood soaked the ground,
he rose and soared from the gore,
a beautiful winged stallion
most wondrous and divine among all horses.
White – completely white -
his wings were that of an angel,
and this amazing creature,
by soaring to the heavens,
transcended the mundane
by setting free his mother’s tortured soul.

Through history he flew
with his name synonymous
with wisdom, strength and courage.
Creator of Mount Helicon’s four sacred springs,
from whence nine water nymphs
sprang forth to bless the world,
Pegasus unleashed with the stamping of his hooves
melodious beauty gushing forth from fountains
when his friends the muses sang
and poetry came flowing from the heavens down to earth.

Pegasus resides now in the heavens.
Listen when it thunders.
Could those be his stamping hooves you hear?
Poetry is flowing to this very day,
for Pegasus lives on forevermore
shining brightly in the starry skies.

Premium Member Adam and Eve

Adam, I haven't a care in the world
eating apples or drinking, so absurd

The devil it seems, was his best mate
I laughed when they kicked his butt out the gate

Its Eve that makes me stay up at night
Her kindness, always, like a bright light

Worry I do that she is well and ok
All of humanity has a stake in Eves day

Forever quiet, never one for attention
Yet when angels sang she was there for redemption

She has transcended time and lore till now
I know, for she is the sweetest frau

Her paintings lift up any sad heart
Musings written, all a la carte!

She is one of the greats in the arts
Softly with sweetness, knowledge imparts

She never gave Adam a second thought
For her, ol sonny was all a heart ever sought

Now Cain and Abel had another brother
yet they hated the other, to each they would smother

The other brother is not found in the books
he was too busy writing poetry, down by the brook

The moral of this story is any and none
I just wanted Eve, to smile some!

Transcendence

A tent of brightly coloured wool
Along an effervescent pool
Filled with deliciously cool streams
This would last a week and I would surely weep
For in my sorrows, I made haste

Beneath a bleak sky adorned with clouds of thought
Menacing a downpour of grief
I left the bosom of my camp
And could not recall my steps
The fierce winds of the desert deleted my trail
As the winds of time would delete my memory from all that ever beheld me

The clouds of thought once again embraced my mind and etched on the bleak skies a certain name
A name sweeter than sweetness itself
With a velvety texture surpassing that of silk
A name that transcended the barren plains dancing around on the tongues of angels
And stretched to the bitter and sweet seas

It is a name unlike which any man has ever beheld
For though many share it
None could wear it with her grace, borne of the musk of paradise itself
A name that evokes images of beautiful pearls
One that sends shivers down my spine
When I envision her delicate visage
A name that spreads warmth from the core of my soul
Which slowly percolates through my being to the tip of my nose

This name can only be the perfectly sculpted form of -????? whose true beauty transcends that of meaningless words
A mellifluous name when uttered in any tone
It shimmers and shines and radiates brilliantly
Even upon the twisted tongue of the vilest crone

I remember the day when the winds of authority blew on our firm grasp
And whisked her away on the cursed back of an evil black horse
And it is with this heaviness that I thus sink
Into a pitiless lake of anguish

Premium Member A Heaven For Musicians

There has to be a heaven for musicians
A place for old singers to go
Their music still touches our lives
As they did years ago
Ray Charles transcended music type
From country to rock to blues
Ritchie Valens was only seventeen
When his death hit the morning news
Jim Croce sang about Leroy Brown
While Nillson would croon Without You
Janis Joplin would make you rock
And Stevie Ray would make you blue
I still watch old Ozzie and Harriet shows
Just to hear Ricky Nelson sing
Harry Chapin took his last Taxi ride
And Elvis is still the king
John sang of peace and love
While George's guitar would gently weep
Conway's music wasn't Make Believe
I hear their music in my sleep
John Denver's in the Rocky Mountains High
And Del Shannon seeks his Runaway
Rainy Days and Mondays made Karen sigh
While Otis sat On the Dock of the Bay
Jimi Hendrix played the meanest guitar
Roy's voice couldn't get any higher
Bobby Darin searched Beyond the Sea
And Jim Morrison said Light My Fire
There has to be a Heaven for musicians
For all those who have paid their dues
Where the music will live forever
From rock n' roll to rhythm and blues.

Love Remains Alive In Death - Collaboration With Silent One

A Collaboration w/Silent One

Flowers you placed on the window
now wilt, crumbling in my palm
Their scent seems to have transcended,
accompanying you to the heavens

Your fragrance still lingers,
sometimes I hear you whispering my name
Shadows in the garden appear ... and disappear,
maybe hiding in an overgrown, decaying garden

Dusty photos filled with memories,
show happy faces full of love
Now this face is engraved with fatigue;
lost in realms of profound sadness,
as constant misery poisons these veins,
disabling the mind into a sombre retreat

Unsweetened taste grace my lips
in the land of the living,
bitter regrets darkly shadow my mind
Feeling your loss deeply,
as the pain gains more barren ground

In this accursed place of perpetual sadness,
I dwell alone in a house of desolate walls
Though they talk sometimes ...
I hear you whispering my name at night:
You say come to bed soon,
put your sorrow away
and lay beside me, my love

Map of Your Face

To never see your face again
To lose the map of your body
To misplace memory itself

For example
Today I lost your nose
I couldn't remember which nostril
Was bigger

Last month it was your facial hair
How it felt against my flesh
I still hold on to your aftershave smile

But the hair on your forearm
is still vivid
Brown red and black
An earthly pallet
Like ivy climbing up you arms

You hated your bodily hair
You shaved it every month
I begged you to save it and love yourself

I recall diving my face
Unto your chest hair
It got warmer
The deeper I dove

those lazy afternoons
How the fog transcended us both
I took naps on your stomach
As the cats watched us

Remember when you punched that guy
And he tried to strangle you
I clawed his face
His wife pulled my hair
That was our honey moon

You called the police
I called my mom
And cried
You visited me in the hospital
With guilt dripping from your eyes

Words flew like poisoned darts
Others wanted us apart
But we stuck
Each carrying their cross

Were we ever Heroes?
Doubtful
We were the fools
Laughed at by the children
we never birthed

I wanted to say goodbye
But I was too angry to realize
That goodbyes are a formality
 When your soul suddenly dies

We will never have Paris
We hated it
Instead, We will each cry
In a separate house

Until one day
Not far
My face becomes elusive
Your face turn muddled

What is left
This emotional leftovers
Is the essence of what once was

Lift your gaze upwards daughter of the sun,
Feel its enveloping warmth upon your ivory skin,
Allow the melting star shine to wash over thee,
And be at one with the mornings dawning.
Enlightenment’s sister arise, inhale the evergreen
Fragrances of nature in all its raw wonderment, for you live
Within the circle of life, and are among the spiritual
Kindred known as humanity.
Oh gentle spirit hush, listening to the splendor of
Loving, remember the touch of the golden moments,
And cherish them within your silvery locks of age.
Precious is this treasure box, held deeply within our
Fragile human hearts, tender angel of light you are
The delicate rose frozen in a timeless repose,
Leaving petals of friendship in your shadow footprints
Behind thee.
Softly thy tears of the spring rain of sorrow falls upon
The roof tops of pain, emotions thunderstorms of summer
Rush against your shield of endurance, yet you will prevail,
For with every challenge of the seasons makes us stronger,
Even in our age of winter.
Life’s waltz plays in tune with the ticking of time, spread forth
Your gown of beauty, let thy shifts blow wild and freely,
Enjoy the rheum’s spell cast, for we are the spiritual kindred
Of the heavenly transcended, unique, individual, a muse unto
The angels of God’s kingdom beyond these our earthly bonds.
Come the day that thee shall sway in the cradle of the universe
Once more, I’ll morn for thee, and yet celebrate thy testament of
Your life always.
Alone we enter unto a cold world, nurtured by the guiding hands
Of our loved ones, a child grows bundled in love and warmth,
Strong a lady now stands holding others hands within hers,
Yielding all that makes her human unto the generations of loving.
Lift your gaze upwards daughter of the sun,
Feel its enveloping warmth upon your ivory skin,
Allow the melting star shine to wash over thee,
And be at one with the mornings dawning.

THE BLUE MOON

Shimmer does it not this inspirational ivory opal,
Lightly dinted with a thin sheen of aquatic blue,
Illuminations elliptical transparent veil, a drapery
Suspended by heavens orbiting web called gravity!
Shingles tacked in by star nails, fastened against
The back drop of a vast blackened universe of mystery,
A mystical painting ever changing, a masterpiece
Created by the divine everlasting, the mood ring
Of inspirational thoughts glittering in the timeless
Sea of space!
Melting frozen ice jewels collide against the fire Rudy
Of the inner suns blaze, as the showering solar dust
Bursts forth falling into the cup of the big dippers crystal
Alignment, amongst the opulent elegance shown in the
Brilliance of the blue moon!
Let tranquilitY's cooling pools runith over in softness
Peace of serenity, I’ll bath within its optical illusions
Of beauty, a transcended spirit seeking freedoms
Dream escape beyond mine own earthly foot hold
Of reality!
A spinning cosmonaut existing in a lunar environment,
Dangling in a spiritual orbit of the heightened experience,
Destinies castaway swaying within the universal pull of
Brilliance, a mystical rose captured within a comets
Tail end of discovery!
Hail that man in the moon, for I wish to be consumed
Within this elliptical titan for which he lives upon,
So close almost to be able to touch by mine own
Mortal imagination, yet by reason the distance
Is just too great, I’m unable to bridge this vastness!
Inspirations muse this prisoner of the earth bound,
Let the shades of illusions not past me by this night
Of elliptical excellence, merging this transcend
Beneath the waves of light, to flex and bend
Unto space itself, drowning within the depth
Abyss beyond!
Oh to become one drop of polar frozen ice,
Floating within this bio-sphere of elliptical beauty,
A tears silent frail hush, to fall against the face of the blue moons
Passionate shine of night, in this single moment of liberation
I’ve found
The true peace of tranquility at last.

“The sounds of Earth is the music of my soul”

I remember the valley rolled with thunder
A section of tenors echoed from above
The sky was shredded, by forked lightning
           Somehow that moment transcended love

Static electric rose up through the cloisters
The organist played like a demon inspired
            Rooftop gargoyles overflowed with water
And eyes welled up, as if nature conspired

Rivers were swollen, the lake was heavy
A boy soprano, almost pierced the dome
Landslides rumbled away in the distance
High on ambivalence, I thought about Rome

The conductor was whipped into a frenzy
Fitfully pointing his wand in the air
As the tempest outside reached crescendo
Defiant altos, sang a hymnal prayer

Beyond the west window, storms fell silent
Shafts of light, shone through from space
Together the choir reached out in emotion
As they swayed stoically, to Amazing Grace

Life greeted Death
with an epoch
from the depths of dusk
with a dawn,

the sun rose lucid
with it's soft spotted infant rose
now awake,
hanging heavily harnessed
in the steaming swaying sky,

the sun's aura
lit the sands of the silent Sahara
liked an aged ocean of butterscotch beauty,
and the starch strung clouds
maneuvored like vanilla lace
avalanching outward
kissing the hips of the woven horizon,

my sight probed to ponder
the powdered blue glow
of the desperate distance,
where the shadows
of the dune's palms
insult the posture
of the ivory sanctuary
that sat balanced for sake of Bethlahem,

I sat megerly meditating,
watching the subtle creases
in the Meditterraniean Sea absorb the sliced brass shingles
that weave the waters wealthy,

as the morning properly transcended Westward
manipulating nature's maturity
by rambling roughly to the seas
for wandering waves of bolted blooms of blue
for the twinkle of a jewel
which sits on a stool as a star
as far as North,
soon the violet velocity of night
approached the set,
electrifying the ending day,
and the Sister of the Sun
landed on the sky's chest
like a sheild on a knight,

as I listened lightly
the Moon politely announced, that evening is back to stack
the black symphony -

Two Hearts

Two Hearts

Two hearts set forth upon the road one day
Braving the perilous plights of life's path
And by cleaving together onward, they
Transcended and eclipsed the laws of math
For what good is a wing without its pair?
Alone it weeps and never hopes to fly
But when met with another, both can dare
And blaze uncharted trails across the sky
So, too, the heart is meant for something more
Enclosed within, yet still designed for flight
Together two can make the spirit soar
And set the tinderbox of love alight
As the flames fly, it cannot be undone
When it comes to love, one and one makes one.

Cosmic Peace

Cosmic Peace

I have been wondering
Ever since you left us,
What were your thoughts
That early morn?
You were silent
While you lay quietly on bed.

For the past few months
You had learned to
Resign to your fate.
Your wounds were healing
Yet tired was your spirit
As you gave in to dependency
On others for your basic needs.
Much did you despise
Calling out to mother and child
To give you a helping hand
For necessities that you wished
To do yourself.
Shame and embarrassment
Was slowly overtaken by
I Have No Choice!

That morn you were to walk
Once again.
Mother and child freshened you
And you sipped your tea
Without a sound, without a word.
You were a little tired
As you lay back to rest,
Never to wake up again.

What thoughts crossed
Your mind that day?
We thought you were looking forward
To your first footsteps that day.
Or did you think
My first footsteps were with my mother
The second time would be crazily challenging?
Or is it that granny said
Don't fret, don't exhaust,
I'll take you now on a heavenly journey?
Did you see the divine light
That forewarned you
Your hour has come?
Did god whisper a sweet welcome to you?
Were you happy or sad to leave mother and child?
Dad, did I come for once in your thoughts
Or did I remain in the periphery
With the earthly transactions
As you transcended into the cosmic peace?

I remain burdened with the bond of love.
I miss your warmth
As you enveloped me saying
The doors of my house are always open.
