Blood is thicker than water (farewell)
Burdened and scarred by DNA
Passed on to us without our say yet
Blood is thicker than water you say?
Characteristically speaking at least
Yes this much is true
Blood coagulates, dries up at such a rate
Impermanent - given certain conditions -
As flaking paint on the family portrait
Carries unknown diseases causing delicate hearts
Quite literally to break
Water the poor relation oh so giving
Life force indeed of all things living
Cleanses, refreshes, vitality brings
Enriches life prompting hale hearts
Passionately to sing
Crimson blood dripping oozing
Pure water flowing clear and soothing
I know now which is my choosing
Blood is thicker than water they say
This I will dispute
Till my last drop has bled away

My childhood friend, my blood brother
We did a lot of fun things together
Playing carom, table tennis and skating
You were the dull school boy
My eyes were always pained
To see you struggle through school
The painting on the wall of the little boy in tears
Always reminded me of you
And so I kept a close watch
To give your dull mind a spark
Now and then teaching you, stoking your inner fire
What a fine eagle you turned out
Life’s battle you have won
Whereas I have lost one and all
We have now parted ways
You are now wrapped up with another
And I in my lonely mansion with father and mother.

I noticed that You left me with nothing to lose
These scars bleed and I’m a dried-up seed
Heal my heartache and tear apart the bad news
Oh Lord, I’m sorry for being full of greed
Wintertime has swept against my skin…
I shutter…shocked by the coldness…
Please forgive me for that one wretched sin
Shaking uncontrollably…in distress…
1-2-3-4-5-6-7
7-6-5-4-3-2-1
Hmm…
Hmm…
Oh…
Oh…
So lost and speechless…
(CH) You’re my sweetheart night and day
Night and day
I need to have thicker skin these days or I’ll break out in tears
I’ll break out in tears
For years, I’ve been led astray I must say
I must say
I will not be furious and I will face my fears today…are you all ears?
Are you all ears?
I look up to You sometimes
I wish I could look up to You always
I look down, for I’m so afraid
I’m so ashamed…let the hopelessness fade
Quenched in quietude
Quenched in quietude
Don’t desert me or I’ll be forever lonely
Anxious because of our departure
Today is the day to surrender to the frozen desire
That scorches my soul
1-2-3-4-5-6-7
7-6-5-4-3-2-1
Hmm…
Hmm…
Oh…
Oh…
So lost and breathless…
(CH)
My shadow of sorrow chased me around the place
Isolated in my own home and scared of the dark
Don’t forget me and please do forgive me for not having Your grace
You didn’t leave me without a trace and I am as strong as Noah’s ark
I need you by my side
I have one more chance to tell you…with my might
That you have tried…
You have tried to shine bright tonight…this night…
Quenched in quietude
Quenched in quietude
1-2-3-4-5-6-7
7-6-5-4-3-2-1
Hmm…
Hmm…
Oh…
Oh…
So lost and courageous…
(CH) X2
Hand me your handkerchief,
For these tears fall down to the floor
Oh Lord, give me relief, not grief
You are the one I adore and you give me wings to soar
Pondering about you more and more…
I shouldn’t doubt you anymore…
But have faith that you are there…
There’s hope in store and there’s plenty to share
There’s hope in store and I’m dancing without a care
I’m dancing without a care
1-2-3-4-5-6-7
7-6-5-4-3-2-1
Hmm…
Hmm…
Oh…
Oh…
So lost and clueless

Lyric
THOUGHTS AND FEELINGS COME OUT TO PLAY
NONE In DISARRAY
WHEN FAMILY ABANDONS YOU
AFTER SOME TIME, IT BECOMES REAL, TRUE
SO MUCH PAIN BECAUSE BLOOD SHOULD BE THICKER THAN WATER
OH HOW I THANK GOD FOR MY WONDERFUL DAUGHTER
SO MUCH JEALOUSY FOR SACRIFICES I MADE
WHILE THEY ARE STUCK IN MUD AND WADE
I FINALLY LEARNT THE BIGGEST LESSON OF THEM ALL
IF THEY WANT, THEY CAN CALL
I'm NOT GOING TO WORRY ABOUT THEM ANY MORE
WHAT THE HELL FOR?

"Thicker Than Water"
by: Eric L. Boddie
Once again, we are here
Regardless of the place, Love remains sincere
I can't think of another group I'd rather be near
Just being close to you all gives me reason to cheer
Because in my heart, it is oh so clear
That each of your faces always appear
At the front, the middle and even in the rear
And each position, to me, is oh so dear
Because each of you is so much more than a peer
Since the Love we share is more than just mere
You all are the reason I have nothing to fear
Because the strength of our bond conquers my every tear

Tend those sad blue eyes
To cry drops but of honey
Tears flow much slower
Down her soft caramel neck
Queen bees silently agree

Blood is thicker than water,
So the saying goes,
But sometimes blood can be,
The source of our woes.
Family ties run deep,
Bound by love and history,
We laugh and we weep,
And share in each other's victories.
But blood can also bring pain,
When family turns against their own,
Betrayal and anger reign,
And trust is shattered and thrown.
Blood may flow through our veins,
But love and loyalty must be earned,
For true family is built,
On more than simply being related by birth.
So remember, blood may be thick,
But it is the heart that truly matters,
And those who stand by us in life,
Are the ones who truly are our brothers and sisters.

Bio
I thought blood was no longer thiker than water.
But that's not the matter.
Even that who calls you honey,
Will run away when you have no money.
Listen to me yee!
Not in anyway will I mislead thee.
Build a rapport.
Your kins need your report.
Let your mother be your accomplice.
She always know how to accomplish.
You can always use her as an alibi.
Remember tha time she sang you lullaby.
You have those you call comrade.
But I tell you they'll come and raid.
That day when you'll go.
They'll come eat as they go.
They'll praise you during the requim mass.
But those will be the words of the mass.
Your kins will sing the dirges.
As your gang act as your judges.
Do not be a city boy.
You life will be a bouy.
Go back to the village.
Do not cry much about the milage.
Your village people needs you.
Once you go to the village you'll get a ewe.
But I tell you, you need them more.
One day you grave will need a mow.
Heed to the words of an erudite sage.
Do not judge by looking at the age.
I put this message in words.
Take this to the entire world.
Tha Formidable Cheru.

My nurse got in touch
I did not expect much
from my medical results she had seen,
but on one thing I failed,
Cholesterol off the scale
which was bad news for little old me.
She just sat there quiet,
I reeled off my diet,
red meat, lots of eggs, dairy stuff,
not much veg in the range
she demanded a change,
though not keen
lots more greens,
fair enough.
I can't overstate it,
you name it, I ate it,
as long as it grew from the ground,
my mood became petulant,
gut rather flatulent,
but gradually lost a few pounds.
One more round of blood letting,
nurse no longer fretting,
the numbers down, now she was pleased,
I'm one happy fellah,
so I ( please don't tell her)
celebrated with a burger and cheese.

Threw thick and thin
Threw right and wrong
Threw the rain and the storm
Threw the years
You held me down
You always have my back
You lend your ear’s to listen
The voice of good advice
The arm’s that in brace
When time’s are hard in need of a hug
You come with open arm’s
With sisterly love
We hold our ground
No greater bond but that of love
No tow a like one soft spoken
The other out spoken
Together bonded by blood
Yet near our far we always
Have each others interests at heart
When one tends to fall
Is good to know you have someone
You can trust to pick you up
And I have that with my sister
For blood is thicker then water
Hand in hand we swim
Till we reach the top

I pushed at the open door, no sound
just darkness inside. Dust filtered my
nostrils, a mustiness of lost years
inhabited my senses. A loose floorboard
creaked in the stairwell, the aroma
of her Chanel provoked memories of my
living hell. A tear of self-pity congealed
in the dirt at my feet.I switched on the light,
"Hello son I knew you'd be back; He's gone..."
NOTE this is a repost of my original prose, to illustrate there is only two real differences between prose and poetry.Visual presentation and the fact that poetry is written to read aloud.

Dramatic Monologue
How does it feel to succumb to the pain I've endured?
Your blood runs thicker than the dirtiest water.
This hate for you cannot be cured.
No one can save you, not even Our God, your true father.
How does it feel to fall onto the same blade you sunk deep in my back?
And now,
here I stand over you.
Twisting that same blade, I give you no slack.
As you confess to things I never knew.
I just want you to fall onto your knees and apologise.
But you don't.
I just want you to say something wise.
But you won't.
So know here we both stand.
Screaming you no longer bother.
Not quite falling to my plan.
Your blood runs thicker than the dirtiest water.

Dramatic Monologue
We went through
The strength of things
The worst of things
Best friends
A team
You had my back
I had yours
Secrets and stories
So much fun
Back in the day
Bikes and "the black"
Manhunt and boys
And now
Years later
Children and families
Gains and loses
We live far apart
But we're still the same
You are still my bestie
My sister, my cousin, my friend
My ride or die to the end
