Blood Is Thicker Than Water

Blood is thicker than water, So the saying goes, But sometimes blood can be, The source of our woes. Family ties run deep, Bound by love and history, We laugh and we weep, And share in each other's victories. But blood can also bring pain, When family turns against their own, Betrayal and anger reign, And trust is shattered and thrown. Blood may flow through our veins, But love and loyalty must be earned, For true family is built, On more than simply being related by birth. So remember, blood may be thick, But it is the heart that truly matters, And those who stand by us in life, Are the ones who truly are our brothers and sisters.
