Best Teenagers Poems
To young lives full of sight promise,
I give glowing, gold dream spheres
And the belief that hope is honest
Because I am their sweet poetry years.
Youthful times of enchantment
bear longings rather than fears
in my stargaze encampment,
settled in my charmed poetry years.
I gift creativity, crafted unique,
to build teenage based frontiers.
I blend wonder with mystique
to bolster my awesome poetry years.
I have many charms to employ
upon young emotional pioneers
in hopes they retain all joy
found inside my selfless poetry years.
All who ever became an adult, full grown,
once handed me their trusting, young tears
to mix with faith’s infinite, soothing tone
while they camped here, in my poetry years.
Here, growth depth lifts a perspective tone
on all life hits that could lay a teenager prone.
I am the time aiding adolescence
and adulthood with coalescence.
I would bet a wager
That many can relate
For if they have teenagers
You may think you met your fate
Well let me tell you about mine
Sometimes they make me spin
Walk a really fine line
Cause most times i just cant win
Its not hard to put things away
You had no trouble taking it out
Clean it up i always say
i am sure you know what that's about
Its a death trap in there room
It doesnt bother them never the less
They just put that web cam on zoom
So all can see the mess
I try to make them see
That really cleaning isn't hard
And happier they would make me
But it slides over there head like lard
In the world of today girls feel the need to sexualize themselves.
Social validation is more important to them than personal values, family, and getting good grades.
Makeup and skincare can be found in their online shopping carts—
replacing Christmas wish lists
along with clothes that are two sizes too big or two sizes too small.
They get so anxious when they can’t find their makeup
that they hyperfixate on their hair and clothes and pray that their face wont receive as much attention.
Their crooked teeth and hairy legs start to feel like defects that are yet to be fixed.
They let their old interests sit in boxes and collect dust in the attic because they’ve been peer-pressured into believing that they’re childish and uncool—
just like they were convinced that food was bad
and teaming up with their own bodies to fatten them
and make them too big to fit in their own minds.
In the world of today, some cant afford to buy food.
And those who can often wish they didn't need it,
because they can also afford screens,
and they can afford to spend all the time they’re not working
getting addicted to the digital drugs we’ve convinced ourselves are not the problem.
Because nothing is ever a problem—
not to those with cool vacation pictures and straight A’s.
Nothing is ever a problem
for those whose perfect teeth and smile serve to display their picture-perfect lives.
In the world of today, life starts being difficult at age fourteen.
Ring ring I called to Jesus
He picked the phone and called my name
I have some questions I said
go ahead and ask, he said.
Why isn’t Christmas celebrated everyday?
Why can’t I get presents as often as possible?
Why did you choose December for such moment of bliss?
He answered with a gentle smile.
I have made you the never fading hope
the crown which you’ll glory in my presence
I’ve filled your heart with Joy and gladness
as often as you let me
my grace for you is abundant
which is renewed every morning
and my love for you is endless and never bounded by time
and yet you only celebrate me once in a year?
Oh lord forgive me- I weep
how can I celebrate you everyday?
He said- Purify your heart
and be clothed with a constantly renewed mind.
This is the perfect Gift I seek.
Oh Lord my God!
my heart is all yours now and forever more.
merry Christmas to me……………
merry Christmas to the world.
It’s eight, I’m waking up late
the aroma of mummy’s fry
gives me so much joy to cry
It’s nine, admiring my gifts so fine
counting the time to display
this, I’ve been hoping since may.
It’s ten; guess who’s here; Uncle Ben
can’t wait for his Biblical stories
as the Kitchen scents with currys
It’s eleven; I wished for this hour since seven
dancing through the city square
I’m so happy Life is fair.
Hurray! It’s Christmas
and I don’t want it to pass
so thank you Jesus, for this gift of Love!
Sleeps till noon or later every single day
communicates in shrugs, mime "talk"
grunts, facial expressions and sarcasm.
Disagreeable to any parental suggestions
Disagreeable to disagree with peach pie
and ice cream on a hot day in July
Disagreeable with hot chocolate in January's blizzard
January is here as expected
that makes me wary of the new year
but Jesus reminds me of His promises
Oh, February already!
Dad shows the burden he carries
but Jesus pats him with His word.
Here comes March
Mum becomes trouble’s new catch
but Jesus creates a way for us to overcome
April appears so fast
the moving year is becoming real
and Jesus convinces us to seek Him first.
May, may may
desertion by friends is underway
Jesus sits besides, never forsaking me.
Half a year in June
the year is now at noon
Jesus asks me never to worry about the night
Wonderful July so glorious
how time actually flies
Jesus Has carried me this far.
August, the summer’s border
a new season will soon be our guest
He’s always the same, every season, every year.
The familiar months begin with September
difficulties are almost over
You see, I told you! Says the Lord
It’s October
And I’m still under his cover
b’cos He loves me more than anyone else.
November, the 11th month
counting down to the special event
yet His goodness is countless and bountiful
The grand Finale in December
family and friends in the mood of Christmas
even though His love
Has been shielding us right from January.

Poetry form: Alliteration - Each poem in my Alliterative Alphabet Series describes conversations between two or more people while only using words that start with or sound like the first letter of the title of the poem. I’m publishing the poems as I write them on Wattpad.com, not necessarily in alphabetical order. My goal is to write at least 26 poems to cover each letter of the alphabet. I hope you find the concept interesting, maybe even clever. Most of all I hope you enjoy them :)

The youth of today becomes
The future of tommorrow.
All hope is placed upon the
Shoulders of this generation.
To carry on the world, make it a
Better place, achieve greatness.
The expectation is given, no
Input is required from those whom it
Is given to. We are given a final
Destination, the path being left to
Wherever we decide to go. Little
Does this generation know we are
Prey for the hawks. Every move we
Make sets off an alarm, bound to
Earn a scolding from society. They
Are quick to notify us of our
Underperformance, our failure, and
Our lacking ability to complete their
Desired task. We are now labeled the
Poisons of society. All in an attempt
To please, but that isn't seen.
I go to school, but not everyday.
My parents said i should, if i wish to get a nice pay.
But i get so distracted, from the thought of school
We've been told from a young age, to enjoy school is deemed uncool.
But schools a short, important step in life.
Like finding a stable job and a supporting wife.
I do hope my attitude towards school does change, for my attendance and attitude i only have myself to blame.
Maybe it's the bad groups i hang around with, thinking slinging drugs and flashing knives are slick.
The thoughts these people have are far beyond sick.
when i get the motivation to go to school, they'll surely say "don't go to school, hang with us, don't be gay"
Being called gay, is a small price to pay. knowing i'll have a bright future, i think my thoughts on school shall stay.
I think that's what i'll do, i'll avoid them and attend school
Getting called gay by a person who considers himself a mate,
all because i wish to enter a gate and stay for the day?
Well, who needs friends like that anyway. When i have school, a future, motorbikes, and an xbox to play.
I’m so happy
B’cos I enjoy your love I do not deserve
I’m so chosen
B’cos I’m part of a royal priesthood
I’m so loved
B’cos you’ve given unto me a wonderful family
I’m so special
For you to die just because of me and my friends
I’m so confident
You’ve prepared a place for me in our father’s house
I’m so fulfilled
B’cos you’ve proclaimed “this is my beloved child, with whom I am well pleased”
I’m so pleased
To share to everyone your wondrous love and say “Merry Christmas”
You know what daddy got for me?
A dress so long and colorful with a father’s note so meaningful
You know what mummy got for me?
A huge tasty candy so yellow with a promise, I’ll always follow.
You know what uncle got for me?
A new pair of lovely sneakers with fairy-ropes like whiskers
You know what aunty got for me?
My favourite Disney figure. Lord! I’m so standing on polished floor.
Santaclaus! Santaclaus!
He got me a book filled with pictures
Love and happiness in abundant mixtures
But I’m most loved above all these, b’cos Jesus gave His life for me
Such Love is uniquely above all others
Merry Christmas! Merry Christmas!
Joy to the world the king has come
The ground his feet set upon becomes holy and mighty
Peace to the world his hands make the waters still
And his words, calm the wildest storms
Hope to the world, death is no more the final boundary
The curtain is torn for all and the oppress now have a refuge
Love to the world, friends can smile and hold hands
Families can dine and merry,
We the children can sing and dance, for the King is here with us.
Dad, dad, dad
What is making me so glad?
Mum, mum, mum
I’ll scream till I’m numb
Brother oh brother
My mood is from the weather
Sister oh sister
Dancing makes me lighter
Aunt, aunt, aunt
My new dress, I flaunt
Uncle, oh uncle
You complete the family circle
Me, me, me
Long ago…………….
Someone has paid my fee
With gladness and screaming
Shouting and dancing
I say merry christmas!
Smile oh ye people smile
It’s time to merry and not to worry
Laugh, all you living, laugh
Please………honour the prince of peace
Dance oh ye Angels, dance
Worship and acknowledge His lordship
Love oh ye Christians, love
Alas! It’s the reason for Christmas.
