They know how to press those buttons,
With just a familiar chosen word or two,
How to enrage one's spirit with a tone,
A glance sharp enough to pierce the skin.
A will that screams, I am better than you,
Stronger, louder...how they deftly dominate.

Sometimes a controlled backfire is needed
To control the intensity of growing flames.
A tempest tipped to dissipate, to drown itself
In blending the cold air with welcome warmth
As atmospheres of milder temperatures prevail,
Mildly melding together, creating a balmy breeze.

Note:
Those couples who argue and make up will relate to the metaphors
used in this poem. A definition of *backfire is for those from other countries.

NORTH AMERICAN
*backfire: a fire set intentionally to arrest the progress of an approaching fire by creating a burned area in its path, thus depriving the fire of fuel.

Gentle, the soul of one
not fearful
connection, with beast and the mild
to tame, it has been done
yes, mindful
of its hunger, call of the wild

Tender, heart of the free
still amazed
at respect given, by large beast
tame, the roar instantly
well behaved
not at all frightened, in the least

Patient, one in control
spellbinding
this companionship of the King
tame, a beautiful soul
so caring
calms the sea, one that is willing

The possibilities are endless
With every new scientific discovery.
There is inspiration to invent devices
That improve quality of life
And save lives in the process.

Spin with the wave and slow it down
With drones and electromagnetism.
Entropy and vacuums.
Spin with the wave, then slow it down
With science and ingenuity.

Catch the wind and spin, hook in
The eye of the storm is calm
Harness the power of the gods
Right there in our palms

Think of the all the lives you'll save
All the kids that won't meet Oz
If only we could stop
Take time to ponder the devastating
Disastrous whirlwinds of the gods

Drop a probe down the eye
Let it spin, let it fly
Revolutionize the times
With the greatest challenge of all
Saving lives, having fun with everything resolved.

TO TAME A SHREW

Tunke Tunke Tunke
I dragged her along and into the trunk
Clunk clunk clunk,
I hear some screaming from the Tunke

I drove away, in my brand new Lex
Avoiding both grammar and spelling checks
Safely away, I saved the day
Off I am to the road by the bay

Tunke Tunke Tunke
Her crass verse I too stuffed in the trunk
Drunk drunk drunk
How else does one explain a skunk in the trunk?

So by the bay, I opened me trunk
Someone is gonna be going for a dunk
I unloaded the cargo chapter and verse
At the bottom of the lake let’s see her converse

Premium Member Stallion

Stallion

Mighty, was his look,
rendering tall, as he provokes.

The attraction that he emanates drawing to its taming,
which we sought.

A stallion as he stands,
the silhouette is what we have seen.

It was that of a wild horse
waiting for his taming to prevail!

The stallion's tone took when the animal did near,
wanting to be the tamed horse, captured, he is safe.

A depth that can take,
when there's something to be profound in, it's deep!

Alas, we come to an end;
there comes a disruption in this snare.

It's what he felt from the enclosed corral,
though he hurls out from the gate, did he escape?

The stallion gave flare from his stance,
which the tamed horse,
a leading role of the animal, he did ride.

Premium Member Tame the Unicorn

Dawn enveloped in teal veil gown
Divided the woods of chatter
Rainbow light through pinnacle crown
First echoes of early laughter

Nesting lieu for flocks stood apart
Flowers nodded and seemed to smile
Whispers of song in every heart
Unicorn met maiden awhile

She braids his golden mane above
The evening fell the sun went down
Gaze spark of grace and tender love
A sphere of flames amongst the ground

Moon raised and spied from the night sky
Trembled the stares a lullaby

Tame Spiders

she had a mind like a brushfire
ate the testicles of men at a glance
and knew how to foreplay
my weaknesses like loaded dice
I was in a state of moral exhaustion
seeking the counsel of voodoo princesses
in an emaciated Assyrian odyssey
laced into the spokes of her chariot
people who are honest are always in trouble
I know she won't always have
the sickle moon ass she has now
but I needed her help to get out on parole
having been caught collaborating
with the lead in my pencil
handwriting analysis gave me up
darkness blends with truth
confessing under a hot comb
to nothing but having looked at the stars
you can't put a fence around it
being the only ethical conclusion
I tried a last ditch gambit
but she liked living with a gun to my head
much more than I did
because it amuses me is no answer
gimme your brains cowboy
or I'll blow them across the room
she had already cut out my heart
blew it up like a rubber balloon
my prayers did absolutely nothing
and I go shopping for an online exorcist
as it jets about the room
upsetting the cat shocking the monkey
and giving the turtle a manic episode
which for him was an entire historic epoch
answering the age old question
where do we hide the body
but in plain sight so here I am
I amused her and we married
even a sociopath will enlist
after an ass kicking by the Gods
we're all hungry for a new day after all
don't kill your TV
give it to someone
who knows how to use it
to read trail sign

Tame the Lady

Tame the Lady Society.
Make her hand out moments of goodness for Heaven's scoreboard.
She gives a chance for all to see their shining moments come to pass.
When looking to a distant shore her real love can never be ignored.

The Creature Never Tamed -James 3:8-

This poem was inspired by James 3:8, enjoy!

Two wise men
Decide to gather round
A fire in a kin
When one's mouth makes a hissing sound

He bragged about his fame
In the land where he was from
For every creature is tamed
Wherever he shall come

"I have tamed a fish before;
When I went out to sea
Now I can change the ocean floor
So it now belongs to me

I have tamed a diving hawk
Who, like my mind, is of great speed
I have made the parrot talk
Now the air belongs to me

And I have tamed the beastly lion
Who conquers all around
Every creature shall be spied on
Now that I'm the king of ground"

"Your feats do take away my breath--
But I know a creature that controls more
It can cause both life and death
It can rock the universe's core

But only I know it's name;
It's of neither north nor south

I'm afraid you'll never tame
What's called the demon in your mouth"

The Sea We Will Not Tame

Wondering upon our almost forgotten smiles
and twinkling eyes hidden,
we have spun this world
in smoke and mirrors,
reflecting light in curving waves.

We have wandering
into the misty fog
as it marched
out of clear air
on a perfect night
to become rooted
in the moss upon which we dream,
seizing that ethereal ground like honey
under winter's veil.

Perhaps it explains why
that which spins in you
is foreign to me,
sometimes,
and yet somehow
a thread of it loops around my heart
and tugs,
as familiar as kin,
or friends too long apart.

And I realize how deeply
you reflect the same light
that I've known uncounted
for a thousand years
times a thousand more.

I feel the stretch of this flaxen fulfillment
and hear its golden tone humming
as it lengthens.
Sometimes too loose to vibrate
the membranes
of our soup-can telephones.
So that even though we both speak
in muted carefully hesitant tones,
our words slip away into space
and only the stars know the songs we sing.
Bellowed out like whales in an empty sea,
only by chance refracted into a hearing ear,
that begins to understand
and then lapses into slumber again.
Even as magnificently we harmonize
beyond the dark face of the hidden moon at midnight,
we hear not each others callings,
and even less often see them dancing.
Except perhaps
in the limelight of our hearts sweet glow
where I know we live.

So it is odd to feel
this familiar twist
of an old theme
of distant overtures not really knowing
what note should follow
the one that follows
the one that is yet unwritten.
It just floats there unresolved,
sometimes aching for nothing at all,
other than the illusion of being.
Yet sometimes aching for the grace
to say softly, the love that floats here
in my heart for you,
without trying to enchant an echo.

Just to freely blow that kiss
into free space knowing
that is enough to be received
by the one that is.
And given by that one too,
to itself.

And so I reflect upon that flow
I have named you,
and wish it good journey,
knowing we are both leaf and river.
Masters of the helm
we sometimes do not steer
and only at the mercy
of the sea we will not tame.

crouched...
     ready
     attack or flee?
he hides
     exposing not even
     the speckled ambiguity
     of social foliage.
watching...
     hunger reaches
     out to feed
     where fear springs back-
this quiver
     held between
     is snapping snarling pain.
He's not afraid of me
     but that he'll tame!
     Oh, wild intensity
How can he trust
     me just to touch
     undo the trap
     and set him free?

Tame

Perfect ILLUSION
Of life
Emerges with doubt
Tame the INEVITIBALE rage
Return once again
Your soul

Prime the feast
Alabaster to rouge
Liken the INFUSION
Akin to the essence that
CREATIVITY will always
EVENTUALLY satiate

Tame the Heart

A call is going out into all the nation
 purity, morality & values
We have closed are eyes from reality
 Instead have chosen gross decency

 hands, heart, eyes & feet
Shelter lies dormant amidst it's beckoning call
a challenge to be free is a question of time
 Sublime

Sullen hearts with a great gulf fix
we are suddenly getting lost in the mix
A loser is just another quitter but gets up and gives it one last try
we have fallen short of the glory that is expected

Getting lost in the sauce with a whole host of duration
we may need a break on a long awaited vacation
Become a beacon of light to a hurting world in need
they just want to see you bleed

One hand to hold a heart will mend
who are you to put your trust in & depend
There are lines being drawn in the sand
Give us a heart saturated with truth

Love should be the true essence of are existence
 faces, traces & mistakes made
A hollow box yet tempered in the fire
Love should be are full proof blown in desire

They proclaim love yet it's only hate in disguise
Don't try to fall for any of there twisted lies
we are all in for a rude awakening & surprise
the human heart is an opened door just ready to be explored
