Boy With Multicolored Eyes

crouched...
     ready
     attack or flee?
he hides
     exposing not even
     the speckled ambiguity
     of social foliage.
watching...
     hunger reaches
     out to feed
     where fear springs back-
this quiver
     held between
     is snapping snarling pain.
He's not afraid of me
     but that he'll tame!
     Oh, wild intensity
How can he trust
     me just to touch
     undo the trap
     and set him free?

I'll have to be careful here. You always read between the lines! Well spotted! E.

Here's an interesting two-way 'trap:' What 'traps' him, once released -- may trap he/she who frees... :) gw
