Premium Member - Ice Cold Champagne -

Do you remember old aunt Julie
In a hurry she opened all the windows
Even in the middle of the winter,
rain or storm
She suddenly needed to have fresh air
Breathed like a whale
The face changed color
Her cheek, ear and throat became deep red
Talked louder than normal
She was a comic figure

We were just young children
did not understand
The years go by ...
we are there ourselves
Hormonal hot flashes
I'm smiling by the old memories
Aunt Julie's advice was;
No estrogen supplements or pills ... but ...
...... Ice cold champagne ......

Premium Member Pride Be Hubris Run Amok

41.
        Resist I Must

Pride is hubris run amok
To rot the soul within.
It rises from the depths of hell...
The deadliest of sins.

It is the snake that slithers so
To pervert both bold and brave.
It may appear the luminous rainbow
But at its end... a pauper's grave.

Resist I must... if resist i can
To this bastard's sad decree.
Knowing counted among the fallen...
Are far better men then me.

               The End

                   42.
       Sorrow on the Vine

My thoughts were sorrow on the
Vine... my brain in some distress.
I carried on, as best I could
With an effort to suppress.
But malcontent was soon to be
As despondency quickly grew.
I will go to bed... to sleep the night...
And tomorrow start anew.

                The End

                     43.
              The Wretch

A wretch upon the gallows stood...
Devoid of any plan... while
Life was weathered astride the door
And Death cackled near at hand.

The Angels sang as Angels do
When one answers Heaven's bell.
But judge not those about the gallows...
Lest you be judged as well.

                 The End

                     44.
        The Clock is Ticking

If you cling incessantly,
Counting down your final breath...
Consuming supplements and vitamins
To cheat the Reaper of a death.

But the clock is ticking... ever ticking..
And when you meet a timely end...
Embrace Death in all its glory
And make of it a friend.

Fear not the specter of Life's decay...
But if such a thing should be.
Let Church bells ring and Angels
Sing... as you shed mortality.

                  The End

                       45.
          A Thought Was Had

A thought was had, and had it was...
To a point beyond dispute.
I surprised myself, I did, I did...
It seemed to bear some fruit.
I bandied it with knitted gloves
Concerned for it to break.
I crept about the boarding house
To rouse my friends to wake.
We gathered round the bellied stove
To hear my thought defined... but by
Then, the thought I had, I thought I had...
Completely slipped my mind.

                The End

Eppur Si Muove

(As Galileo left the session of the Inquisition
at which he had been forced to deny his own
discovery that the earth orbited the sun, and
had to "admit" that the earth was static, he
murmured, "eppur si muove" ("but it moves").

It's hard to live in Lilliput, I find.
I have to cross my fingers, play their game.
Their billing, filling, drilling daily grind

sits ill with me. They all trot out the same
tired cliches. Passing a painting, never fail
to comment on the squareness of the frame.

Unprofitable, weary, flat and stale.
You can't earn prizes here. These fools prize earning.
No sweets to eat. It's one long dreary tale

of condemnation, disapproval, spurning.
The Sunday supplements determine taste,
all tearing down, forbidding, banning, burning.

They're sealed in heavy metal, concrete-cased
austerity. They put the "die" in "diet".
What will survive of them is nuclear waste.

Denounce, detract, dismiss it and deny it.
Don't look for clover - look for cloven hooves.
Excoriate it, flay it, vilify it.

They'd love to let life lurch along in grooves,
the gauche, perverse, unruly human mind
trapped tidily in aspic. But it moves.

Premium Member Man I Am exhausted

So much effort
goes into feeling well...Man,
I’m exhausted! There’s nausea
from supplements, the squeak
and throb, Just One More Rep!~ exercising…
Man, I’m exhausted!
                       As much effort
going into relaxation – rush to get
things done (always a backup of
things); shuffle schedules, get sitters
for the animals – Man, I’m exhausted!

Even love, the chores, the cards,
the gifts, the emotional lifts...honey-does
seeming to have endless reserves,
never running short on pantries of
exhaustion.
             Someday, probably, I’ll
wake-up, unpleasantly surprised
and find myself either stoking furnaces,
fluffing angel wings while polishing
the backside of clouds – Man, give me
a break!

Ouch!~ finally something I asked for….

Premium Member Evaluating Limits On Carbs

Very low carb diet is any diet requires less than 50 grams of carbohydrate per day
Eating a healthy diet on this level of carbohydrate restriction is impossible
If you tried
You’d be eliminating too many foods rich in vitamins
Minerals
Fiber and cancer fighters
Getting essential nutrients from foods is always better than getting it from supplements

Moderately low-carbohydrate diet
Such as this one
Includes 100 to 150 grams of carbohydrate per day
The minimum level to prevent loss of clean tissue from muscles
Organs

A high carb diet
Includes more than 250 grams of carbohydrate each day
This is appropriate for active people who are at a healthy weight
No matter how many grams of carbs you eat everyday
Fruits
Vegetables
Whole grains
Legumes and pasta
Should be the main food sources of carbohydrates
With added sugar sources kept to a minimum

Premature Ejaculation

Electric shock.
And so were those
Winter days.

Hysterical, practical
And our supplements
To fight daily
Loneliness.

Mustard in her
Nails made shooting
in the Street far worse.

A cylindrical whirlwind
of your suitcase
as you're weight lifting
And I'm drinking and
So you are you and
We're passing out now.

I spilled my wine on
the bar. On purpose.

And I wished my father
Was there.

Divergence

No divesture of this, the soul's remind
the will of intervention supplements
with watching's wrest, the citizenry not bind
to sameness value, while the truth is blind!

I then must separate from that ensuing kind
that regulate on vestige, inheritance assigned,
my courage has one merit, yet options are sublime
to change the course of wrongness, others leave so behind!

It is this costly virtue, no gain, no riches mined
but everlasting oneness, with those whose crowns were lined
with scars from no assuming goodness was just consigned
to those who blandish glory from past renowned refined!

It is the price of freedom, continuous ~ divine
that scourges not resumption, but "freshens" from confined!

Premium Member Observations

Morning light shimmers
Floating dust welcome;
Excited salutation

World awakes
Noisy traffic;
Rush of work day

Knock on the door
Peephole lookout;
Real estate agent

Morning cuppa
Fortified supplements;
Health insurance

Bamboo trees
Walkway sentinels;
Windy voices hum

Old plumeria tree
Speaks in vivid colours;
Reds, yellows, whites bloom

Lift alarm screaming
Fire drill or short circuit;
Irritating noise

Balcony view
Ant-people far below;
Busy antics ply

Temple oracle
Praying on a wish;
Curious bystanders

Church petitions
Man keeps busy asking;
Attendance compulsory

Despite our faiths
Man remains unchanged;
Unsure and insecure

Voice of dawn
Hurling new songs;
Rapture unnoticed

Bold ideas fashion
New collections;
Recycle old orbits

Day after day
Same old, same old;
What's new pussycat

Hymn and prayer
Endless petitions;
Too much noise

Go deeply now
Linger right here;
Discern afresh

When, where and how
Who, why and what;
Unanswered questions

Weary and tired
Dreary world swirls;
Awaiting salvation

Look beyond reason
To fit new rhymes;
Seasonal permutations

Looking out
Peeping in;
Who cares

Lost in the crowd
I search for something;
I don't know why

Rules are rules
Useful as tools;
Transcend and discard

Once in a while
A sincere smile;
Cynics fling piles

Go beyond terms
Let feelings style;
Spontaneous voice

Seek then the light
Beyond meaning;
Seize true rapture

When the soul awakes
Magic and mystic
Charm with bold say

Words once empty
Pregnant with rapture;
Creation sings

In a clear vessel
The empty space:
Is most valuable

Go beyond form
Beyond norm;
Flirt with impulse

Words are devices
Language crude formats;
Soul sublimates

Sense a sure gap
Between said and done;
Herein possibilities field

Coffee and skimmed milk
Fortifying supplements gulped;
Morning hit parade

Fragrant scented dawn
Plumeria flower burst;
Yellow and pink and white wows!

Melancholic me
Stripping sad self;
Indulging irks I...

By and by
We get to then;
Cremated ashes

Be nothing
Do nothing;
Love something

Sensorial rapture
One flinging moment;
The fatal finale

Skyscraper plot ratio
Builders in cahoots;
Pricey real estate

And in the end
Death rewards all;
Beyond insignificance

Truth is bitter
Gall to the body;
Phoenix to the soul

Moments offer
Magic and mystery;
Do you believe

Timeless
Rapture;
Sublime now

Of Pain, Glucosamine and Chondroitin

Of Pain, Glucosamine And Chondroitin

Osteoarthritis and pain, a bane to sports and the elderly people...
All too often sufferers are spotted by the knee guards worn on their persons...
The doctors, they diagnose all possibilities for the pain and discomfort ....
And for pain relief and treatment, they will recommend various measures....
Possibly relief measures hinting at costly surgical procedures....
Now, here's a most interesting article for the sufferer who read....

Costly surgical procedures and treatment, there's no need...
Foremost of all, strength training is one crucial measure...
Strengthening your quadriceps will work wonders...
As surely as Tai Chi improves the mobility of all its practitioners....
Of glucosamine and chondroitin the popular oral supplements ....
Looks like it is more hype and marketing than actual improvements...

All this info and more, they are in an article found in Readers Digest October 2009....
Headlined Advances in Osteoathritis, it quoted findings from GAIT, a large arthritis study...
Which released scant evidence of the healing effects of the two supplements...
Now the question for all these patients is, who or what they should believe in....

Hohoho...

Pizza delivery
Dominos attends;
Party of four here

Subtle kaleidoscope;
Happy flinging joy

Early rising moots
Drowsy awareness;

Morning repast
Instant milk with coffee;
Food supplements extra

Just the other day
Old friend died;
Kind chat from beyond

As youth surrenders
Old age brings insights:
Wise old bones aching

With passing years
I learn to discern:
Talk without words

Simple economy
Spend when necessary;
Purge all vanity

A touching moment
Hero's journey ends;
Inevitable death descends

Time for goodbye
Fare you well my friend;
Let all things go

Birth's crying arrival
Lifelong struggle;
Exit with crying departure

God has a great sense
Of humour -- you see
He made man

Little by little
Becomes a plot;
Empty seems a lot

Let's Walk

Let’s talk about different ways people walk -
They walk with God
They walk in, they walk out
They walk up, they walk down
They walk too fast, they walk too slow
They walk around
They walk away
They walk on by
They walk gracefully
They walk the runway
They walk by faith
They walk in deliverance…

Let’s talk about how it sounds when people complain about walking -
I don’t feel like walking
Why we gotta walk?
That’s too far to walk
You always wanna walk
I’m tired of walking
Don’t be walking in front of me
You better watch where you walking
You be walking too fast
Why we gotta walk everywhere?
It’s too hot to be walking
It’s too late to be walking
Don’t walk that way, that’s the long way…

Please stop complaining and be careful of the words you speak, because there are some people who wish they could walk. There are people born with no legs, people who have had their leg amputated, people who suffer with arthritis in their legs and people in wheelchairs who wish they could walk.
Walking supplements your income, so be grateful and don’t take God’s grace for granted. Just saying…
