A Suggestion For Future Mass Murderers

A Suggestion for Future Mass Murderers

By Elton Camp

A fiend has taken twisted action again
Later to be another, who knows when

At Sandy Hook, he had his awful way
Innocent little children wantonly to slay

The lowest of cowards he has to be
To go on such a vile shooting spree

The least humanity such man does lack
To gun down those who can’t fight back

There remain more such lurking out there
Who, for decency, haven’t the least care

Monster, before you go and do your worst
Do the world a favor--kill yourself first

Premium Member Open To Suggestion

Open to suggestion I’ve always been

Single gals were called as I sipped sloe gin

      Roses wilting in the heat

Why did they land at MY feet?

Catching the bridal bouquet did me in

The garter was tossed high into the air

A swarm of men scrambled, I eyed the stairs

I said, “Keep an open mind”

     The catcher was twenty-five!

Despite my age, he proposed then and there

He slid the garter quite far up my thigh

I didn’t realize; the booze made me high

Sloe gin I’ll ne’er touch again

‘Cause I forgot to say, “When!”

And now I’m still getting calls from this guy

True story – caught the bouquet at my nephew’s wedding. My nephew’s YOUNG friend
caught the garter and proposed while my family broke out into laughter. I later gave it back
to him and told him that although “I’m Open to Suggestion,” I thought he deserved a
younger bride.

A Contest Suggestion

Hello all!

OH HOW I WISH I WAS A PREMIUM MEMBER! AARGGG!!!

Ahem. Excuse me. ;)

It's just that I have a contest suggestion. I don't mind whoever picks it up... I'm not sure if
it's a topic that's already been done in the past, but I think a lot of interesting poems would
come up under it.

Topic : "Childhood Memories"

Anyone willing to hold the contest?

Suggestion

My father was killed in an aircraft accident on the Aircraft Carrier Intrepid CVA-11 which is now retired in the New York harbor. I was considered to be a 14 year old war orphan. I am a retired Veteran and Federal Civil Service Employee. I have completed over 500 poems on Poetry Soup with each one having an average of 12 lines
in iambic. Your August 16th Poem of the Day was mine about Robin Williams.
Two of my other poems have received an honorable mention from you. Other poets have thanked me for the support they received from me in the form of my poems. My poems have supported their efforts to write poems and stay on Poetry Soup. Based on this, I think that you have a great idea in giving me a Lifetime Membership in Poetry Soup. I think that it is a brilliant thought you have there. James Thesarious Hilarious Horn jthorn5656@gmail.com just like you. Keep a running total of poems for us to see would also be interesting. Anyone out there. Whatever I can do to encourage and motivate you to write poems and stay on Poetry Soup, I would be glad to do so.
More suggestions and ideas should be sent ot Poetry Soup.

Premium Member Suggestion Box Sonnet

Ever wonder what happens to suggestions
Dropped in your employers’ slotted box?
They are extracted and read with questions
Seldom answered is somewhat orthodox,
Proposals by the great, “unwashed” masses
Of underlings seeking more remuneration,
Gutsy enough to speak, these lower classes,
Indeed, to want a scheduled, paid vacation!

Imagine a thirty-minute lunch break, I laugh,
Extending the law-provided ten-minute take
Or double pay for overtime? Surely, they jest
For all the silly complaints they love to make.
More work, I say!--simply what you do best
With my feet on my desk, I’m taking a rest!

Hyper Suggestion

~~Hyper Suggestion~~
I went to the doctors just the other day
It was just for a check up, that’s all I can say
I sat in the waiting room waiting my turn
The magazines were still ten years old so nothing new to learn.

I looked at and started to read the notice board
I noticed the posters with diseases -and they struck a chord
Could you have bowel cancer the first one did query?
Is your poo loose or do you go more often, if so there’s a theory
You might have bowel cancer, check your poo for blood
How nice! I scanned another poster quickly while I could.

Obesity could this be you?
It causes heart disease, diabetes and cancer too.
My eyes scanned the board for something else to read
Ladies have you got ovarian cancer? These signs you must heed
Do you feel full after just a little food?
Do you feel bloated and not at all in the mood?

The bell went my turn had come, I walked through the door
Good morning said the doctor what are you here for?
Well I’ve come for my check up but just before you start
I’ve read all you posters and there may be something wrong with my heart
I turned up for my checkup but after reading twenty one symptoms-and there were more
I now find I’m in here and I have twenty four.

Suggestion

shoot me in another angle
no one should not see
don't ask me why
no one should not know

real is pain
no one should be sorry

The Suggestion

If i am in a position to hold the candle,

Then light the candle,

If the edge of chair no more romantic then,

A thriller then explain the foot work,
Time elapse then let be known I am have good time,

If the morning breaks and howl of the moon is,

Approaching what distance is the runner set it for home,

Rules among conquers words of relapse circle of comas,

like the ice age,

If learning is not free I say set sail to eastern hemisphere

Ask them the dawn question,

If freedom is the question and love is real,

Then what is the suggestion.

A Voting Suggestion

As a rule
of thumb
VOTE "NO."
Keep America
the way it was.
What we had in the 50's
is better
than what we'll get.

Premium Member Vacation Suggestion

I have a suggestion
  based on a question
Just how put out would you be?

If our great nation
  declared a media vacation
To let us relax, reload and be free

Four weeks would be fine
  five or six even better

A Simple Suggestion

I sit and wonder with the sway of my laugh,
‘How could I of’ or ‘why didn't I do that’?!
Inside these questions, I get carried away,
Taken someplace I'd rather not stay.
Here I sit, stuck in my head,
Stay too long, might as well be dead.

This is the place from which I seek refuge.
It's tall and it's deep, it's peculiar and rude.
I know with each bit of energy I give it,
It grows like there's no tomorrow, no end in sight to it.

Still, try as I may, I get stuck in here some days.
Impossible to unwind, my wing are tied, can’t fly away.
There, I remain tied up in a knot,
Trying to convince my devils to stop.
Unlock the doors and unwind the chains,
That hold me afraid and drive me insane.
To myself, I pray, "release me, self, give me a break.
"Throw me some rope, some hope, my heart aches".

If you are reading the words on this page,
You’re meant to help open the door to my cage.
Listen, believe, and together we can,
Rain on the drought I’ve brought to my land.
We poets share, a kindred despair, so
Each can relate to the hell I feel here.

With a breeze, pray, then a sigh of your breath
The disease, in the wind, and j u s t I am left.
No longer can I, I hate this way.
Send love and send peace, perhaps wisdom, at least.
And with a breeze, I’ll pray, a gentle sigh of my breath
Released to all those who need it the best.

Just a suggestion.
