Yet Know That For Truth, Such Simply Will Not Suffice

While you may want flowers spread across brightest room,
some write of death, darkness, usual daily doom.
Try not to judge us as hard, heartless and cruel
or a savage beast using a barbaric tool.
We too, often see and want feel good paradise
yet know that for truth, such simply will not suffice.

Tho' my heart oft sings, remembers love's sweet delights
my soul knows life is also about daily fights.
Judging me so harsh, thinking me a brutal beast
know evil fears me more and I have that at least.
I think to warn others, the young that do not know
life no bed of roses, oft is a horror show!

As I sling ink, I will not to pressure now bend
for I see clear, who is foe and who is my friend.
Saddened that heavy words must fall and thus be sent
if you have no tolerance, this for you is meant.
I've held my sword, refusing to use its sharp blade
now recent deceptions, have my spirit remade.

I take no hits, without sending like in return
respect I do not give, unless it is well earned.
If my principles and morals are deemed too low
keep your false heart and embrace the darkness you know.
My words, I shall not for anyone trash or burn
nor act as world is not bitter milk in a churn.

While you may want flowers spread across brightest room,
some write of death, darkness, usual daily doom.
Try not to judge us as hard, heartless and cruel
or a savage beast using a barbaric tool.
We too, often see and want feel good paradise
yet know that for truth, such simply will not suffice.

Robert J. Lindley, 5-05-2018

Note- Sad that recent actions by some have made clear to me that friends they never were but instead used such deception for nefarious deeds, etc...
I write my poetry to benefit others, not to lull the young into thinking that this world is a bed of roses. If my presenting that reality bothers some, then tough.
I'll not change a word of any of my poems due to disapproval from others that have no true poet's heart....

A Simple Hello Would Suffice

look around, look around closely
there are things in this world that are gold or just yellow
Choose what you like but to me
your name has a hidden symphony with mild or mellow
tonight I drink to grief
as my hands are tied if you can't whisper a simple hello.

Super Nova

The phenomenon, as it manifests itself over the course of a journey.
It turned me into an Orion in the form of rudimentary
When life’s trying to surpass me,
I suffice against suffrage and then I see

I strive for change, living in the Trans Lunar.
My body is here on Earth, but my mind is elsewhere.
Vigorous belief in the morning star
I ducked, crawled, and hid in things and behind.
I was laughed at, hated, and blind.

My heart is broken as a lost child,
but my intuition tells me not to give up.
It turned out to be ironic because
of where I was sitting. and I stand up.
I defy the prophecy of a wiry-breaking tongue.
in chaos for the poor child, Angels sang

I take my deterioration in appreciation.
From slavery, I built, in my own mind, a nation.
My eccentricity should not be dejected.
It's now a useless iron that can't be dedicated.

My time is now. I am in for an overwhelming delight.
The purpose of my life gave me strength for the fight.
Here I stand in front. I am the supernova.
It begins the story of my life. It’s not over

Premium Member Making Do

Enough I have,
but more, would make do, better still.
Sufficing without icing is a nice thing to do,
but ample sufficiency is defeat, a condescending deceit.
For we all want bigger apportioned portions.
Want more than our fair share of the hearty fare.
Making do is so hard to do, but so easy to see through.

Suffice To Say

How could you be
Anything other than everything
To me?

Suffice to say
You are loved, really loved, and you are
Each day.

In earnest, I'm
Beside myself; I hear our hearts strike inside
In time.

Suffice to say
I am yours, truly yours, and I am
Always.

It's Not Love But It Will Suffice

She says, “It’s not love, but it will suffice,
Happiness must be had for what it’s worth;
Let us embrace romance sealed with a kiss
And enjoy the time we have on this earth.”

I live this sensation called soul-searching,
When inspiration is torn from the heart;
Desperation creeps in mercilessly
And escape to her arms is the answer.

I long for comfort as she calms the din
And rejuvenates my exhausted brain;
Re-energized, I alight from within
And attempt to climb that mountain again.

I can’t complain in this our love affair;
Our needs are met by using each other.

Life Woud Suffice

Vividly I recall,
The first days of the year.
Praying, fasting & planning for all,
For to meander I fear.
Engulfed by sheer courage I invested.
In cloud of belief I worked.
In anger by former uncompleted goals,
I hustled tirelessly in a stoic.
Now at the bottom,
But still hurdles cling to me
Like a hawk waiting to swoop its prey,
I hover ready to quest
What plea to God would suffice New Year?
A whisper into my ear, ‘’life would suffice.”

Life Would Suffice

Vividly I recall,
The first days of the year
Planning, praying and fasting for all,
For to meander I fear
Engulfed by sheer courage I invested,
In cloud of belief I worked
In anger by former uncompleted goals,
I hustled tirelessly in a stoic
Now at the bottom
But hurdle still cling to me
As I still stroll perplexicaly
With a quest for a clue, a plea to God
To suffice New Year
A whisper into my ear "life would suffice."

Slice To Suffice

Slice To Suffice

No matter how it is cut or you want to slice,
There was never enough that would suffice;
We can wait,
Then motivate,
So created many more ways that will entice.

A perpetuity is an annuity that
has no end, or a stream of cash
payments that continues forever.

None Suffice

He holds out his hands unto me
to lead me into the secrets of his love.
I hold on unto his arms
and feel the warmth of his love.

Still all is darkness
only faith lights the dim night
My soul in a thousand struggles
soars to the heights.

Darker and colder grows the night
strange and incomprehensible forms
obstruct my flight.
I seek to understand.
I look around...
and find myself in bleak aloneness.

I shudder and moan
reach out to the stars
They are too far.
Their distance swallows up their light,
they thaw not the coldness and emptiness,

I turn to the flowers of the meadows...
stare at children's innocent eyes.
Yes, beauty I can find but none suffice.

Love's pain is sharp, intense and consuming.
Who can bear it?
I do not seek to understand this cross...
ask not to be relieved of its pain and agonies.
My only plea is for strength to bear it.

He says: "Believe in us."
I do!
My soul is parched.
Yet I must love on in the dark
till I be lost in the infinite furnace of this new love
and burn on unto its delight.

A few will suffice

"A single rose can be my garden... a single friend, my world." - Leo Buscaglia
I need not many friends in this my life~
A few will suffice, if they do wonders,
As caring and kind as a loyal wife,
Their presence resounds like distant thunders.

More beauty is found in a single rose
Than in weeds that overrun a garden.
Their sheer numbers often bring many throes,
And for their wrongs, they offer no pardon.

Flee far from my life in your vast number,
Find a place to rest, lost in your slumber.

Advice Shall Suffice and Entice

My Haiku About Daily Events

need some nice advice
write a poem which should suffice
enlighten and entice

Seahawks Versus Bronchos
Football Game Overseas

more money must make
long trip we will have to take
went across wide lake

Results of Hearing News

suffered such a strain
did like driving us insane
had been a big pain

did have a delay
they never knew time of day
with minds like to play

would lie and procraste
on them pulled something fast
now am an outcaste

O' That Our Sad And Vain Glories Wouldst Suffice

O' that our sad and vain glories wouldst suffice
to soothe our nightmare moods, their poisoned queries
angry shadows that prowl long and empty corridors
seeking joy at any precious costs
Alas! Sweet promise that sets its hidden traps
eager for the follies of man-made schemes
steeped within weakness and failed hopes, darkness of flesh and bones
and fated to stagger in blindness of lust and deep decay!

O' that heart and soul could once truly join
to walk upright in radiance of truth and light
dance under moon's warmth giving rays
sing to its cheerful gifting arc
and praise its glory that shines for us all.

O' that darkness lost its deceiving powers
turning to ash from fires long since smothered
in the rise of mortal reach and wisdom beyond,
beyond mere existence and vanity compounded by Fate's hand
thus scale to soaring heights once given to Olympic Gods
devoid of tempestuous failing's, they all too sadly embraced.

Trump May Have To Suffice

Trump Should Suffice

Moron Trump he may have to suffice,
Who is now President and never nice;
Had contemplated,
Being ill fated,
And other woman wants to entice.
