Sunlight rains upon my face
Cascading memories cloaked in mystery
Kissing my eyelids
Ancient teardrops glide down my cheeks
Warmth illuminating my hungry soul

A sense of calm
A pulsating ellipse emerges before me
I dive into the magenta abyss
Releasing my wounded heart from its cage
Fear resides
Primal vibrations guide me

Becoming one with galaxies and starlight
My limbs relax
I flow ~ I undulate
I swim in the warmth of the universe
Time and space have become me and I them

Perched on a massive salt-stained boulder
Gazing towards the briny distance
Shades of White
A passionate brushstroke across the horizon
Sky and sea in a lover’s embrace

Caw .... caw ..... caw....

I feel you beckon me
Swallowing the sweet pit of truth
Nudged by a warm gust
I look down seeing the bundle
cradled in my arms

Your endless gaze speaks lifetimes of wisdom
Birth, struggle, bliss, challenge, and death
I watch you intently readying yourself
to pounce upon your unsuspecting prey

Riding this timeline of life
Together as one
Tick tock
Forward backward
Inward to the beating center of creation

Young one I see your sage reflection
In my gilded hand mirror
Me here and you there
Your smiling eyes
Tearing at my core

Come float with me
In sheer turquoise splendor
Adorned with seaweed crowns and abalone jewels
Rays of light penetrate the watery depths
Colonies of majestic stingrays hover nearby
Welcoming us to join their scared dance forevermore

A Tower of Giraffes galloping by,
while A Caravan of Camels migrate close at their side.
A Conspiracy of Lemurs,
A Court of Kangaroos,
A Harem of Chimpanzees,
A Nursery of Raccoons,
A Shiver of Sharks and A Fever of Stingrays
compete to survive beneath our oceans' waves.
A Pride of Lions,
A Prickle of Porcupines,
and that's today's lesson in animal group classifying.

Ocean of Sorrow

Since you left I seem to drift
Sorrow's current, very swift
Pulling me beyond yesterday's
Searing pain of velvet stingrays.

In this vast deceiving ocean
I drown in waves of emotion.
On the oily ocean floor of life
I try to dodge its knowing knife.

A tropical depression on my mind
In my fragile nakedness I find,
That memories are the true enemy
Deceiving fronds of the anemone.

In hungry oysters I plant the seed
On every sandy thought they feed.
Mother of pearl coating every care
I wear pearls of grief in my hair.

I explore this endangered coral reef
Your bright fishes touch my grief.
Memories in every detailed hue
Remembering the essence of you.

Are you even aware of the burning pain
Of yearning so much to see you again?
In the whirlpools of my mind
Will I ever sweet closure find?

Under rocks I find glistening tears
To keep as semi-precious souvenirs.
Timeless treasures to sustain tomorrow
As I dive into the ocean of sorrow.

**I am a nearly seventy year old mother, grandmother, and great grandmother..I enjoy going to the seashore for vacation..I have always enjoyed picking up seashells and wondered if they all had names..Well, there are over 15,000 different kind of sea creatures that live in those shells and some have not been named..

Into the Blue

paddling out
	in a stylised freezer container
sustainable propulsion
for a fossil fuel by-product boat

he floats into blue tranquillity
	watching the bottom slide by
as rocks weeds and shellfish
	give way to the unfathomable

he navigates his speck of flotsam
	into a world
where cormorants bathe
and stingrays bask in the sun

his cares
	stranded on a sandy beach
their urgency diminishing
in a shrinking line of importance

paddling into blue
	his thoughts ripple
like wind gusts
	stirring but brief

internally focussed
	waves rise like an epiphany
dragging him in
	to an uncharted future

Hull, City of Culture 2017

Hull is the great and unique city where I was born
Sitting on the Humber estuary...proud and all alone
Known for keeping Charles I and his army out through courage and bravery
Also the birthplace of William Wilberforce who helped abolish slavery
The most bombed city outside of London during the 2nd World War
This made a strong community stronger even more
With a long and colourful history in shipbuilding, fishing and trading
The old image of Hull is still there ...but it's fading
The docks have been redesigned as shopping centre's or parks
It has an amazing aquarium that's got jellyfish, stingrays and sharks
The music and arts scene in Hull holds its own against the rest
The 2 mile bridge that spans the river is rated amongst the best
There's many green spaces to chill or restaurants to drink and dine in
It's now not unusual for Hull City or FC to score or even get a win
Hull has been rewarded with the City of Culture 2017
The redevelopment of this great city is very welcome but totally unforeseen

The tides began to roll in,
around four a.m, all was silent.
as the stingrays gathered,
constantly, circulating the giant
snails, all the while the docks
shuttered and bounced behind,
the pier while morning shellers,
held on to straw hats, while grabbing
the daily news, from vendor stands,
bicycles lined estero entrance way,
the gallantly, glowing red sun, begin
to rise, the gulf of grandeur, comes clearly
into view, over looking the Caribbean Sea,
colors begin exploding, igniting painted
walk ways, swinging gates, through
brilliant chimes, creating tropical
melodies, where butterflies dances,
as reptiles wink, the pink flamingos,
dip their feathers into cool teal waters,
while sinking beaks into soft sands.

When the Sea Is Angry

When the sea is angry
 Waves, like knives, penetrate deeply
Secrets are revealed

Stingrays uncovered, at risk
 Burrow deep
When the sea is angry

Shells buried for time unknown
 Surface in brilliant majesty
Secrets are revealed

The coral braces, mortality guaranteed
 Death and destruction inevitable
When the sea is angry

Sand scattered, settles again
 History buried, rears its head
Secrets are revealed

What is exposed, covered again
 Nothing left for man
When the sea is angry

An explosion born of fury
Brings forth, then takes away again
When the sea is angry
Secrets are revealed

Beneath the Ocean Blue

The sea is where you’ll find me,
Beneath the ocean blue.
Where dolphins swim with glee,
and fish wish to see the sun,
beneath the ocean blue.
As seaweed sways,
crabs dance upon the ocean bays.
Beneath the ocean blue,
stingrays lurk
and whales perk at the sight of krill,
beneath the ocean blue.
The sea is where you’ll find me,
beneath the ocean blue.

Premium Member Poisons and Venoms

On our globe of life
Animal and plant
Protection for them
To us they grant

Venom's and poisons
To defend and deter
Whether scaled
Leafed or fur

Reactions can be
Ultimate and pain
As each delivers
To protect their name

The slow loris
Amazes us all
Poison and venom
In something so small

Bee's, nettles
Stingrays tail
Deterrents to us
Only humans assail

Incredible weapons
Gifted to them
Imagine if they
Were in the hands of men

Would we use them
For the human race
Or against each other
Once again lose face

On the leaf of the nettle
And the body of the bee
To the tail on the stingray
Is where they'll always be

Night of the Full Moon

Night of the full moon

Whale fish are most adept at swimming around in a shot glass but glass goblets are preferred by dolphins whose long dorsal fin opts for wide open rimmed spaces. Stingrays desire to be seen in the most finest crystal glasses but the flat fish is only ever seen in a tumbler. Often tumbling. And giggling with pure delight. But what of ambition from all these creatures. Would they not want to swap? Are they ever content with their locations? Omnipresent octopi often offer octagonal orifices. The vertical verb of a naughty little variegated platy can vary a variant victoriously. How rather marvellous that is isn't it?
Instinct ink can inform. But ink that is mislaid, misinformed and generally mundane is confused and confusion can offer creations canopies of catastrophic chasms. Mingle in a mangle then. Up and down the threads. Obviously a straight ironed trousers. Hemmed. Could see straight through 27 pairs of skirts in rows and point out the pin marks.
Awkward antelope answering apostle ants? How quite amazing! Well it is isn't it? And the gathering of the buds upon the washing line can hang out in all weathers. Thus ensuring an even radius of elements to dry, wet then dry again. Broad shoulders of a bean. Big bloated buffalo's beating banging bongo's. Baboon laughs and laughs and laughs and lingers on leaves no more for the beat is too amazing to place himself in such a confined positional place but heated propositions from a piglet often sway the breezes. And the backwards running tap always laughs at the dandelion in flight. Because it is very very very funny indeed!
WOW
Running ruining radii ravish radishes ridiculing realities. Such reduction in a nylon beaded glove. And gloves of a geranium are often glowing and glowering at the same time. Such a simultaneous display of floral fragrant feats.
WOW
Fiddle fathoms fish fetching forks finely.

The Joys of Nature

He painted the ocean
in fifty shades of green and blue
with his mighty paintbrush of perfection!

He sculpted a garden of coral reefs
and barrier reefs for us to see
with his powerful chisel of praise!

He sketched the outlines
of slithering bonefish and Nassau Groupers,
and sneaky Spiny Lobsters and humpback whales
with his graphite pencil of glory!

He shaded the colors of gliding dolphins
drifting sea lions and green turtles
and soaring stingrays
with his pastel sticks of righteousness!

He crafted a collage
of magical starfish, sand dollars, seahorses
conch shells, oysters, clams and seaweed
with his scissors, glue
and construction paper of greatness!

Premium Member The Booth In the Back Please

after the dance we opened the doors
dampness surrounded this place maroon drapes
paisley patterns blinded my emotions license plates
of james dean covered the pine paneling only in the back

funny how a pair of levi's could bring about
such lonliness but there was james standing there
leaning up against his motorcycle flickering that cigarette
i had dreamed of life away from a smoked filled room

however i was being forced fed macho manner
by mere bruts tyrants wearing tightly fitted pinky rings
shuffling their feet quickly my only thought was that of
the stingrays sharp shooters how their eyes are morbidly

unseen right before they strike their prey i wouldn't even
speak of away from tropical shirts and the pelicans beak
an yet after the dance we had entered this think tank
of sea urchants mere leaches all reaching for small time

scores the same old crabs in the same old bucket
one by one pulling the one closet to the top back down
to scurry sideways with the bottom feeders night crawlers
here i am again your place their place our place i wondered

if they noticed me at all or was i just a cold curvy bottle
of coke a cola to be placed on a red and white canvas
in front of knitted covered candles or was i just a manikin
leaning against that timeless old seeburg continuing to drag

the needle slowly across the nylon fibers of my favorite record
over and over again like filing my broken nail or fussing over
another run in my stocking who needs stocking why i was simply
this forgotten mermaid among a school of green eyed hungry sharks

but then there was james a mere mirage gazing down route 66 in land
catering to the backside of those levi's oh wait here he comes again
he's going to ask me to dance what will i say oh my feet hurt or just
say no shoes tonight shall we swim out of here my mind tossed to and froe
i just couldn't bare to waste a perfectly good pair of fins don't you know
