Poisons and Venoms

On our globe of life Animal and plant Protection for them To us they grant Venom's and poisons To defend and deter Whether scaled Leafed or fur Reactions can be Ultimate and pain As each delivers To protect their name The slow loris Amazes us all Poison and venom In something so small Bee's, nettles Stingrays tail Deterrents to us Only humans assail Incredible weapons Gifted to them Imagine if they Were in the hands of men Would we use them For the human race Or against each other Once again lose face On the leaf of the nettle And the body of the bee To the tail on the stingray Is where they'll always be

Congratulations James, on having your insightful poem featured this week. It was an enjoyable to read. Note: Stinging nettle is a good guard plant .. (don't give up the dog, though lol) for under windows... if you live in the woods and it's a native flower... This was fun! Thanks for sharing. Lovingly, Dane

There is much wisdom in your beautifully penned words, James. Yes, God knew what he has doing. With uman nature being what it is, many would choose to use these means of protection and survival for offense. Another well deserving piece going on to the finals! Love and best wishes always, Robin

Nature certainly does enjoy her defense mechanisms, humans certainly enjoy mimicking nature. But we don't defend huh, only attack. a detachable bee stinger made of metal and fueled by explosive gun powder, man certainly has imagination. Congradts on the win James. Well deserved.

Sin is a mysterious force ... and war is broken out in all of nature ... every thing has a defence system ... except the heart in love with poetry. Bravo.

James, you have written a very insightful poem. You taught me something new today. I found the cutest picture of a loris. I had no clue what they were.. Darling creatures they are. Perhaps I'm a bit cynical, James, but I fear that if the animals' weapons were in human hands we would surely use them "against each other." A very thought-provoking and powerful write! Love, Carolyn
