Into the Blue

paddling out in a stylised freezer container sustainable propulsion for a fossil fuel by-product boat he floats into blue tranquillity watching the bottom slide by as rocks weeds and shellfish give way to the unfathomable he navigates his speck of flotsam into a world where cormorants bathe and stingrays bask in the sun his cares stranded on a sandy beach their urgency diminishing in a shrinking line of importance paddling into blue his thoughts ripple like wind gusts stirring but brief internally focussed waves rise like an epiphany dragging him in to an uncharted future

Seems you are a deep thinker. Love the way you brought your thoughts together into the depth of the blue ocean. Probably where you were writing! Thank you for your work.

Hello Scott. As an admirer of the ocean blue your entry glided and sang in my eyes. You brought out excitement and anticipation as the reader reads your words. Well done and presented

Wow Scott, this is poetry a poet can sink his teeth into and chew slowly until digested....savoring each bite! Very impressive!....a poet's kind of poetry. Bravo! If in the contest, I hope to see it on top! : ) 7

This is a positively lovely bit of work you've mastered Scott. I loved 'give way to the unfathomable.' It took me back to scuba diving in the Caymans where I hovered at 100'--above the 25,000 foot deep trench of grayness below me.

Is the last stanza a metaphor for life and its mysteries? Stimulating! Peace & Love Matthew Anish

I was thrown by 'stylised freezer container', couldn't imagine where you were going after that, yet there was a sense of freedom rushing through your sails.

It sounds to me like he became one with the waves and when this happens you share a moment of bliss. An evocative, pensive piece I enjoyed very much Scott. ; ) 7
