Best Staircase Poems
Sometimes in the sky
Showing puffy clouds
Smiling in the summer
Staircase in shaped clouds
A staircase going only upward

you shan't win
not this day my furry friend
watch me run
head start - yeah!
close to end he leaps down ledge
watch him fly
staircase race
wins and rubs it in my face
prissy proud prance

Kept calling to him
As he climbed the grand staircase
Never knew he'd died
I climbed but could never reach him
Papa turned, smiled, waved good bye

The enclosed porch framed a weather-beaten door.
The door was slightly opened when I knocked on it.
I slowly set foot inside the musty dark drawing room;
little light shown through from the stained-glass window.
I reach and slowly move my fingers over the flower rosette
carved into the old elegant red oak staircase railing.
I do walk up the stairs to see the same as on the door frames.
Passing through in the nostalgic silence of the empty house
I could hear the echo whispers of life of its past.

Walk out to ocean, this stony pathway,
Folk story declare, twas a snakes byway.
Climbed from sea, wormed onto the hidden cave,
Men explored and commune, the knowledge crave,
This legend lives on, even to this day!
Along the horizon, dawn caught away,
Rides in with glory, it's mystic gateway.
Morning shines hope on, the soul of each brave,
Walk out to ocean.
Mist rises, the ocean hides the door way,
Relish the cold evening, welcome skies grey,
The lava flow stairway, the surf well lave,
Presents a view, foretell of gifts we save.
The moon radiates rich, dream day can't stay,
Walk out to ocean!

Approaching the weathered staircase to climb the porch of this forgotten house, the sunlight streaks through the holes in the roof to highlight the once regal ferns and the overgrown garden. Peering through cracked window of the front door I see the elegant rosette that once invited guests into this home. I close my eyes and the wind whispers of days gone by filled with love, laughter and the losses of the families that lived here. Sadly, I am reminded of what a grand home it was.

Tuesday pounced on Monday’s back
They rolled then tumbled through a crack
Wednesday came to sweep the floor
Thursday chased them out the door
Friday shook his weary head
Saturday went straight to bed
Sunday sought his peace in prayers
While Monday waited, by the stairs..

The spiral staircase of life well defines
if hair is red and eyes are colored gray.
It is a twisted lattice we can’t climb,
the mystery of cells called DNA.
Each rung within the spiral carries data,
so important to the chromosomal cell
a roadmap to the now and then the later.
A microscopic story it will tell.
A double helix work of godly art
composed of molecules and acids,
genetic program for the mind and heart
alongside proteins and lipids.
It truly is the spiral of all spirals
in that without it, we’d have no life at all.
It is proof we are walking, living miracles
and our DNA has histories to recall.

I dreamt of a staircase that hung in the air. The landscape below was vacant and bare.
The sky up above was pretty and blue and the birds were all soaring like that’s all they knew. The staircase had no beginning or end, no place in which to ascend or descend. The voices were calling from above and below, speaking languages that nobody knows. Most suddenly the light began to fade and the stars began to show themselves like glittering jade. The birds were replaced with fluttering bats and the ground was filled with thousands of rats. I climbed ever higher to escape all these frights, higher and higher to the edge of night. A heavenly gate did so appear but was just an illusion and worsened my fear. The higher I climbed with no end in sight, ever higher struggling with all my might. Just when all hope had escaped from my grasp I fell to my knees hands tightly clasped. Oh Lord lead me From this horrible place and at that same moment I felt the Lords grace. As I awoke lying safely in bed, I Knew my Lord was true to what he had said.
