The Staircase

Tuesday pounced on Monday’s back
They rolled then tumbled through a crack
Wednesday came to sweep the floor
Thursday chased them out the door
Friday shook his weary head
Saturday went straight to bed
Sunday sought his peace in prayers
While Monday waited, by the stairs..

Reminds me ever so much of a 'Cure' track: "Friday I'm in Love". Enjoyed! :) john

Thank you, John:) I think it had been the cracks in the upstairs pine floor that had prompted this write. Best wishes to you, John :)

I think this is the fifth or sixth poem of yours I've read tonight. I've genuinely enjoyed every single one of them. You are so talented! You really should consider putting together a collection of children's poems.

Thanks :) I had thought at one point that I'd love to do a children's book. Then I thought of publishing a book of poetry. Sad for me, my computer got hacked into so some of the poetry was taken. Some I've retrieved, so I'm posting them. Crazy, huh?

I don't believe it's a sin, but it might be a song? :)

Did I say the last time - children would love this poem, so full of imagination. You are a regular Mother Goose, Mikki. Love, daver
