The Sower

Arnold gazed eastward,
squinting.
His callused hands hung
by thumbs hooked to
his belt. He had beaten
the rooster by at least
an hour, and his hands
lit a pipe in
celebration.
A cool breeze
passed through, teasing
the plowed field,
the chimes,
and his arms.
The barn stood sturdy,
ready for the season.
Seasoned tools hung on the
new walls. The screen door
behind him swung and
she stood next to
him on the porch, his
hand stroked her back.
She looked at him, he
peered eastward, a subtle
smile concealing a laugh,
“It’s going to be a good year.”

	The Sower *
	Written; By Tom Wright
	7/28/00

Behold, there went forth a sower
he sowed through mid day heat.
Some seed fell by the wayside,
which the fowls of the air did eat.

He saw some fall on stony ground
where was no depth of earth.
At sun up they withered and scorched
having no root to sustain their birth.

Still other fell among the thorns,
and soon choked, giving forth no yield.
	The thorns allowed no fruit
from this place in the sower's field.

But other fell on good ground
Bringing forth thirty, sixty, and hundred fold
Which kind of seed have you been?
For our Lord have you been bold?

The Sower and the Reaper

You’re digging up the garden of you in my head
and taking out the stained sheets for the bed.
I fear the weeds that you could plant again
the thorn that may prick and leave a new stain.
How can I sleep in the bed where you buried sin,
yours and mine, in that game I couldn’t win?
You’re ripping up the bushes or roses and thyme
their sweet aroma of what once I called mine.
I had hoped in this a place that I could put you to rest
but you come with spades to dig up graves once blessed.
You seek the coffins that I hid away in my heart
to redefine magic that you made a dark art.
So you look through the drawers to find the sheet
where you played out the last of your deceit
like a puppet show with shadows, so softly it played
then you left everything here and slowly it decayed.
It took me years to let something new start to grow
to remove those sheets from the bed and hide them below.
And all I have tried to sow, you have moved in to reap
digging up things that are not yours to keep.

The Sower

She gathered her seeds
Her seeds of good deeds
It was time to plant again
The season for sowing
She scouted around for good land
Seeds in her hand
She walked in love
In search of good soil
Not too much toil
Very little sweat
She found her land
Good, fertile soil
She planted the seeds
The seeds of kindness
Seeds of good deeds
She watered them with love
Selfless love
Pure love
Soil wet
She watched them grow
Beautiful trees so tall and strong
Spring green leaves
Sweet and juicy fruits
What a great harvest!
She filled her bags
And strolled off in joy
Some she kept

Some she gave

Some she sowed

With great joy, she sowed again
With great joy, she harvested
The story of the sower
The sower of good deeds

Spirit Sower

I am a star seeder…
Emotional healer of heart bleeders…
Value, unity and concentration I teach…
Assisting my dear ones with inner minds thought speech…
Observation, imagination and manifestation done from love’s truth…
Catapults one consciousness beyond feared sleuths…
Master emotion making reason based decisions…
Focusing will on your life’s grandest visions…
Knowing your self is meeting your savior…
Naturally we will display goodness behavior…
I am a star seeder…

Parable of the Sower

I ask what’s the purpose
For a writing with no reason
A hundred thousand words together
Has definition but no meaning
The expenditure of ink is the
Mouth running off for no reason
But what I write is what I reap
So I write and sow in Season

Because it is the sowing season
The ground is ready for planting seed
Some may grow tall and strong
Some will be swallowed up by weeds
Some will be picked off
Some will die in scorching heat
Wether or not fruit is produced
the difference between triumph and defeat

The rockier the soil
The less the roots and foundations
Will grow to be deep
The seed that falls to the wayside
Becomes the violence in the streets
The seed that gets picked off
Is the one that is led astray
The seed that dies in scorching heat
Is the one that did not withstand the day
The seed that became swallowed up is the one that lost its way

The seed that grew to flourish
And produced its fruit within its season
Is the seed that overcame
And was planted well with sight and reason.

Sower of Joy

Sower of joy
is love
nourishing hearts
sprouting
green in arid
healing minds
wiping tears
from eyes
guiding blind
opening ears
to catch
tears or smile
giving fallen
hope
wings to fly
for truth
and justice
fighting
energy marvel
one against
thousands
whence
the power?
Can the finite
purchase
infinite?
More valuable
than all earthly
goods that
perish
God’s breath
in heart of flash
coin in light
etched
love self
on the one side
love neighbor
on the other
God's love
in between
energizing
both sides
ticket pass
to faith ignited
jet
fueled by hope
to life's eternal
rest
love unity
joy endless
infinite happiness.

Sower of Love

I left, I went to the street
even though I knew i wasn't the sun!
But as it was day, I shone...
I lit people and things...
I took away the cold that was in them...
I do this almost normally!
Then I came back to reality
penetrating the magical night,
even though I knew I wasn't
  actually light!

Ideas

Fly one way
Like a fugitive seeking asylum
Knock the door
See if the house owner is home,
ready and willing.

Fly another way
Like a refugee in urgent need
Knock the door
See if the house owner is home,
ready and willing.
Fly many ways
Like seeds scattered by the sower
Knock many doors
See if house owners are home,
ready and willing.

Dwell a day
Nay, many days
When such hearts, you find
Willing and welcoming

Fly away, fly away
Fly away, fly away
As so and as much as you please
When no such, you find

Parable 14: the Sower

A sower went out his seed to sow.
Some of it fell on the path and so
     exposed on the ground
     by birds it was found.
Other seed over the rocks did blow

so without much soil when the sun arose
growth to the scorching heat was exposed
     and so withered away.
     Yet more seed did stray
among thorns where its growth was foreclosed.

But for seed that fell in soil that was good
it thrived and grew to yield grain that would
     increase a hundred fold.
As when the word is told
much will be lost but some understood.

Wherever you broadcast the Word
some may listen but think it absurd.
     While some will neglect it
     and others forget it,
some with joy will share what they've heard.

The Glad Sower

you might have heard of my brother?
the flip side of the coin
he's the misery that comes after years of misspent joy
he comes with a black cloak and a sickle...
i come wearing vibrant colors and bring tantalizing toys
he wears a frown i wear a smile...because the seeds of sin must be planted
your view of the world must be sideways and slanted
you need clarity?...i bring a sea of static
like a game show host...fake,artificial,and plastic
you live in a mansion...i live in your attic
sending evil thoughts on fearful frequencies
like a subliminal criminal i'm invading everything
thoughts and dreams get covered and camoflauged
you think it's your idea...i'm your mad mind mirage
need a masage? need one million hands of hate to seal up your fate?
you quake and quiver as reality sets in and comes to dinner...too late sinner
my brothers knocking on your door and you're the next winner
soul sold... time to send you to your owner
shake hands with the grim reaper as your days of darkness get longer...
remember my name...the glad sower

Premium Member Lessons from the Sower

Seeds do not always yield a crop
when from the sower’s hand they drop.
If on the walking path they drop,
the birds will come and eat them up.

When seeds drop on some rocky soil,
on which the sower failed to toil
the plants that grow up on such soil
sun’s searing heat will scorch and broil.

Seeds that fall on soil with weeds
will sprout and grow like all good seeds,
but lacking all the food they need
will sure grow up, but then recede.

The seeds planted in fertile soil,
on which the sower’s servants toiled,
will sprout and grow, then yield a crop
that far exceeds the seeds that dropped.

Ask God above, to tend your heart,
so that His words, life will impart,
making you wise and truly smart
then let His words your life course chart.

Sower

In this world to be a wanderer,
in space be a navigator
Traveling is not a hindrance.
If we live to sow love...

The Sower and the Tree

O thee, the sower,
who’s sowing but not reaping;
cut the tree? Why not
tend it, nor, cultivate it
near the crystal stream of love?

...that I may bear you,
the sower, who’s sowing but
not reaping, next spring
the sweet fruits, of you and me,
for the world to see---our arts.
