Best Soul Searching Poems
I walk deeper and deeper into my own mind, looking for something while completely blind.
Nights embrace only makes me travel deeper, with the road only getting steeper.
Not knowing who I am or what I need, I will continue my 1 man stampede.
Searching for myself has become my addiction, staring at my hollow reflection is my confliction.
I resort to pouring my heart out in the form of text, pondering upon what sign will start my next quest.
The quest to finally know why im here,
The path im headed down is so unclear.
Casting the veil over my face by day, and removing it in the comfort of night, I will continue soul searching, until my purpose is in sight.

Music, art of sound, pitch, rhythm
Meditation, art of disciplining mind, body in tandem
Music harmonises senses, eases tensed up muscles
Meditation calms mind freeing it from weed of entangles
Music, the way is from ears to senses through mind
Meditation, the way is from body to no-body, from mind to no-mind
Music is instrumental in mind and body harmonising
Meditation is dropping mind and body for soul searching

SOUL SEARCHING
Closing my eyes
shaking my head
tears reluctantly flow,
My Soul weeps
behind closed shutters
dumbfounded
Seeking solace,
peace, understanding,
mercy.
The shutters
must be opened
as blindness
heals naught
“My eyes -
the windows
of my soul” **
So do we walk,
eyes open
into life
searching
the open windows
of weeping souls.

Every morning, when I walk under my cherry trees,
There is soothing breeze which awakens my senses,
The flash back of life events roll before my eyes,
I am sent in soul searching and search for the meaning of life,
Long ago, I came to USA with a suitcase full of clothes,
A few dollars which government allowed, lasted only half a month,
Tearfully I had to take a loan, with lot of hesitation,
Loan office quipped, “If you are not in debt, you are not an American”.
Years passed, took many loans, paid many,
Worked hard, made some money,
Family flourished, till all moved,
Now I am in an empty nest.
Now I get kissed daily by,
The passing breeze of awakening,
What good is life if it does not help anyone,
Needy need food, money to educate, keep them healthy.
When I sponsor few needy students to go thru college,
I am not helping just one, but generations to come,
When hungry get food, they become strong and get ready to work,
When sick gets better, their whole life sees wonderful future.
As for awakening, I am moving away from selfish life,
Wrapping up my earthly belongings,
Readying my one suitcase,
Never know when the call comes to leave the world.
I meandered through the muddy Mekong
Searched in sultry sexy Saigon
Ravished in the Cat Thien Rain forest
Yet I still could not find you
I found myself haunted in Hong Kong
Caught up in the cacophony of China
Trailed my way thoughts to Taiwan
And still I could not find you
I jostled and jaunted through Japan
Hoping Kyoto would hold my Karma
It only got me caught up in Korea
And still I could not find you
So I backtracked and got tormented in Thailand
Which had me pondering Penang
Hoping you would be caught in Kuala Lampur
Yet still I could not find you
I searched for you in the East
Hoping to calm my inner beast
Believing my inner mind to be true
That maybe one day - I'll find you...
There is the light in your soul
Something deep, deep inside
That you want to hide
Because its your precious guide
People are curious and cruel
They want to reveal
The treasure they will steal
And you will never heal
The part of you will be gone
You will never be whole
If you let them unroll
The valuable secrets of your soul
I am one to believe,
That if only people could see,
What’s really, truly me…
…That one day this world would understand.
I am very different.
Yet, common to the eye.
But what’s inside the heart,
Proves that the outside is just a lie.
On average, if you should know.
Based off of the world’s expectations.
That I would be a girl,
With senior salutations.
To make up the perfect woman,
Many elements of normality are involved.
But I am more like a puzzle…
…With important pieces missing.
Therefore, I am close to impossible of being solved.
Beauty, yes I am.
I know I have the smarts.
But the reasons for my insecurities,
I cannot figure out.
I am stuck inside of a shell.
A dungeon that I call my home.
I want to break free…
…Escaping from all of this.
But I cannot escape by being alone.
Yes, there are people by my side.
But ONE cannot escape the wrath…
…Of a Mental Tsunami Tide.
So what do I do for peace?
I observe those of innocence.
Stop.
Think.
And listen.
Then all over, I reminisce.
What do I evoke?
What thoughts do I recollect?
I muse over the teachings that I received from the inexperienced.
I tend to allow myself to believe,
That if I studied another’s ways,
That I would be able to flee,
From OUR past.
The crippling days.
So why am I so self-doubting?
So quick to be pessimistic?
If only I had the answers,
Would be how quickly I could end it.
No, I am not JEALOUS!
I understand half of what I am worth.
The other half will come along,
With self values and soul search.
I don’t mean any harm,
To those that I offend.
Personality is key.
And not a heart.
But a character is what I have to mend.
So on this journey of security,
And transforming into a woman of hope and faith.
Please allow me to be myself,
So that I can notice the traits that I have to change.
And once I have improved myself.
Certainly I will see.
Things that are worth my time…
….And the things that are not worth me.
Please be patient with me,
For we are on this journey simultaneously.
Trees like fingers
pointing towards stars
what is hiding out there!
clouds spatter
waters the element
earth bent
fire bled
gravitys balance
The narrow ledge
Led down from the ridge
Taking the steep side
Each step piloting
This descent into the heart song
Abiding deep within our longing spirit
Pivoting beams of sun flash
Through the soft flowing blanket of trees
Below to the far woodland floor
It's light cascading to stream
Between the real and imagined
Binding the present truth to Evermore
This searcher of beauty
This pathfinder of eternal love
Comes to rest from this journey
To find one's self deep within
Where the forest grows silent and lush
Where the soul finds peace
Holding to this enchanted secret
Encompassed in this timeless place
Deep within the well
Of something that always was
And has been the gap
Between the connection of our souls
And the ingredients of our map
I seek lyrical justice from my conscious thought
My fate seems undefined
Tired of what is not
I keep searching for peace of mind
My decisions have come at a cost for me
I feel the need to vent
Not all the worse things in life are free
Like the freedom from my own judgment
What I have done is not who I am
The bones in my closet could fill a casket
Even if I have enjoyed the sham
I am going to hell in a basket
I wish to hold experience in high regard,
But life’s lessons have left me taunted
My road has left me scarred
My dreams remain haunted
It's okay to say No
If you're not ready for something new
If you're questioning and confused
If you are unsure or if you hesitate
It's okay to say No
While you're moving forward
If you have to take a step back and pause
Or wrestle
Or revisit
It's okay to say No
If your feelings are causing you to contemplate
And you need to clarify your intentions
Check in with your conscience
Re-evaluate or reconsider
It's okay to say No
If your heart is craving excitement, but yet you feel torn
And alarm bells are going off in your head
No matter how quiet
It's OK to say No

People tend to judge
What they do not get.
As I lay here on my couch
I pack my bowl
And don’t regret.
I don’t regret The places that I've been.
Or
The people that I’ve met.
I’ve traveled Here and there
And back again
And yet I haven’t left.
I’ve seen the stars explode
Inside my soul.
And ashes sprout to life
When they mingle,
My mind tingles,
As the fire loses light.
So
Don't stop breathing,
Keep on dreaming,
Keep that fire
Burning bright.
Because this high
The only reason that-
I know I’m
Alive.
Incubation was not
complete. The thirst of
thoughts will find a
convoluted shell-
wrapping up the kernel.
Throw a stone on the
sinner. This was on
me. I will accept the
rocks to open up-
a fountain.
There was a silver screen
for the lovers. You will
not regret for the raw
emotions. A sperm whale
in the sea will spew-
a streams of profanities.

What do I know of soul?
Nothing but its close conspiracy with death
As the soul disconnects and flies when we die.
The world's soul can be seen in the clouds,
And death looms and hovers high
Over this tumbling clod of earth.
I also see the wind in the clouds
And hear the floating truth the wind conveys.
The world is a Barnum and Bailey hoax,
An elaborate deception.
Does not the earth look flat?
Does not the sun appear to rise and set?
We are but a mere handful of dust
Thrown into the face of the wind.
That may or may not be soul,
But it sifts us along, anyway,
Like the silt of destinies.
No one is accountable for the accident of his birth,
Although he may be for the untimeliness of his death.
Life is a great chaotic secret,
And we are merely ignorant
Searching souls in constant cosmic disarray.
Author's note: We are all ordinary. What is extraordinary is that so many of us ignore what few strengths lie within us as we try to live with and around our flaws. "Soul" is an imprecise term, or so it seems to me. "Mystery", perhaps, has the advantage of a more precise application.
