You Won'T Tell Them How You Lied

[verse-1]
Tonight it feels like, the end of the world
Tonight you showed me, you were never my girl
I wonder do you know, what my heart is doing
Well girl it's breaking in two, since you've gone

[verse-2]
Go ahead tell those lies, to all your friends
Go ahead tell them, what a big fool i've been
I wonder will you tell them, you have a heart of stone
Or will you call them, and joke about me on the phone

[chorus]
Well be sure to tell them, how you broke my heart
And how funny it was, when I set down and cried
Tell them how, you tore my world apart
'Cause I know, you won't tell them how you lied

[verse-3]
You're gonna have to be careful, when you're drinking
You're gonna have to be sober, when you're bragging
You'll have to learn to shut your mouth, when your wasted
Or everyone will no your a liar, and how your mind is twisted

[chorus]
Well be sure you tell them, how you broke my heart
And how funny it was, when I set down and cried
And tell them how, you tore my world apart
'Cause girl I know, you won't tell them how you lied

Asleep To Dream

When you tremble and shake
it shakes my world apart.
When you cry, in my world,
it rains, it floods in here.
I'm lying here on the floor caressing your ghost
and before these memories loose there edge
I just wanted you to know that.

How long did I try to keep this all from falling apart?
I kept it all hidden while you carved your name in my heart.
Sleep is unnerving,
the dreams distorting your face.
Before the world changes I just wanted you to know that.

There's no place else I'd rather be, than inside here with you.
Please stay alive for me.
Don't close your eyes, don't fall asleep.

Don't fall asleep to dream tonight, You'll blur and fade.
These memories will close their doors and refuse to play for me.
Oh God how they played for me.
Now they fade away, please don't fade.

Dimash Song Lyric Translations

These are my English translations of songs sung by Dimash Kudaibergen.

This is my translation of one of my favorite Dimash Kudaibergen songs, the French song "S.O.S." ...

S.O.S.
by Michel Berger
loose translation/interpretation by Michael R. Burch

Why do I live, why do I die?
Why do I laugh, why do I cry?

Voicing the S.O.S.
of an earthling in distress ...

I have never felt at home on the ground.

I'd rather be a bird;
this skin feels weird.

I'd like to see the world turned upside down.

It ever was more beautiful
seen from up above,
seen from up above.

I've always confused life with cartoons,
wishing to transform.

I feel something that draws me,
that draws me,
that draws me
UP!

In the great lotto of the universe
I didn't draw the right numbers.
I feel unwell in my own skin,
I don't want to be a machine
eating, working, sleeping.

Why do I live, why do I die?
Why do I laugh, why do I cry?

I feel I'm catching waves from another world.
I've never had both feet on the ground.
This skin feels weird.
I'd like to see the world turned upside down.
I'd rather be a bird.

Sleep, child, sleep ...

"Late Autumn" aka "Autumn Strong"
loose translation/interpretation by Michael R. Burch
based on the version sung by Dimash Kudaibergen

Autumn ...

The feeling of late autumn ...

It feels like golden leaves falling
to those who are parting ...

A glass of wine
has stirred
so many emotions swirling in my mind ...

Such sad farewells ...

With the season's falling leaves,
so many sad farewells.

To see you so dispirited pains me more than I can say.

Holding your hands so tightly to my heart ...

... Remembering ...

I implore you to remember our unspoken vows ...

I dare bear this bitterness,
but not to see you broken-hearted!

All contentment vanishes like leaves in an autumn wind.

Meeting or parting, that's not up to me.
We can blame the wind for our destiny.

I do not fear my own despair
but your sorrow haunts me.

No one will know of our desolation.

Marbled by aquamarine depths
Under rolling moonlit waves
Bellow haunting sonar echoes
Heard for miles and miles
Melodiously broadcast
Wondrous and mystical
Their enchanting tales
Of travel and adventure
Encounters and synchronicities
Thru bottomless lengths of seas
Graceful magnificent giants
Majestic they roam free

My Crimes

How did I ever know
She'd feel that way
About a bullet streaking across the sky
Of green and black confounded,
Are you?...who is this?...

And when we'd go there
She'd take me where
I'd fall and lie for her
Crawl and die for her
With a gentle shove

You can't gun the whole world down
And hand out justice through your eyes
You can't take 'em where you've been
Or make 'em pay for your crimes

A simultaneous argument in my head
About what she meant and means to me
I feel a sense of inner dread
Why do I hang myself
right before I'm free?

I remember how the crows came
And throwing bread at his feet
I remember the Man in Black
Always a step ahead of me
I lift the jawbone in my hand
Through the Oracle I will see
What I've chased.... all this time

And one day, I'll be, standin' on that hill
On that day, a horn blast, will burn the still
We'll be there, together, to win the day
But I'll be, the only one, who ever rides away...

I lost everyone who ever stood at my side....

                               And still they stay....

You can't run the whole world down
And hand out justice through your cries
You can't take 'em where you've sinned
Or make 'em pay for your crimes

Ecstasy of Emotion

Here we are, the time is now,
Looking in your eyes flashes all the memories somehow.
Its just you and me alone in the crowd,
In our own world with no intruders allowed.

We should leave, walk away,
Coz my words have nothing more to say.
Holding your hand the time holds its motion,
Like a timeless orb flowing with an ecstasy of emotion.

It is getting harder to desert myself from you,
My broken and lifeless world consists of nothing new.
Yet I hope to give it all in your hand,
Fetch a diamond for you from my world of barren land.

I cannot walk away and leave you there,
But I don't belong with you or anywhere.

Afternoon Delight!
Lookin’ forward to a little afternoon delight

	Turn! Turn! Turn!
There is a season turn, turn, turn
A time to every purpose under heaven

A time for neck rub, a time for kiss, a time to unfold 70’s clock radio music
        Peter, Paul and Mary
        88.7
        Bob Dylan, Donovan, Neil Young

A time to borrow propane tank next door
A time to swim in ocean of stars
A time to Yale at Jose – the gardener
A time to country
two left feet who never promise a rose garden

A time for Chopin piano concerto along with a time for COVID models
A time for Mahjong and Gin rummy
	Without winning or losing

Whopping Leap of faith: A time of homemade haircut

A time for Prosecco and strawberries; a time for Instacart
A time to Mystic Hills; a time to Top of the World
        Oh, my beloved lemon thief

A time to dream –
grateful dreams – tasty dreams – To Have and Have Not dreams

        Today and always
The greatest radio station in the world!!

Livin' In Sin

I'm livin' in sin
Where do I begin?
With the way in which I've lived my life

Trying my way
Where I can say
That my will has caused all my strife

Knowing the path
Yet seeking wrath
Of this world and all who belong

Show me your love
Sent only from above
And forever I will abolish the wrong

Chorus:
I seek the path and the truth, which only you can give
Knowing this way can sometimes be so hard to live
Perservere through the darkness/ Open your eyes to the light
Livin' in sin is my way/ But there's only one way that's right

Tomorrow comes even quicker
With people getting sicker
In self-desecrating immodesty

Lies are ones fortune
With all of this corruption
Where did we forget honesty?

Sickness and oppression
Lust with depression
A forbidden cocktail to your demise

Strength and mercy
Kindness or cursing?
Who can really deciper all these lies?
Repeat ChorusX1

Truth be told
I won't be sold
To these lies in which I believed

If tomorrow isn't there
Will this world even care
About who they're going to receive?

Make your choice
Lift your voice
Let the heavens hear your cry

Live in sin
Or live with him
Death or Paradise?

(way of the World) My Train of Thought At 21

visualizing moments from my past
i had friends that were too fast
and now they're pushing up grass

some pulled triggers to prove they were'nt punks
got sent to prison to spend their lives on jail bunks
in this world of wicked people
its seems like um walking a tightrope between good and evil

shedding tears for my peers who passed away
but we cant go back to yesterday
and this world is hard as steel
one foot in the grave and the other on a banana peel
so if i slip I'm outta here
I can't cope and since I don't smoke dope I drank a lotta beer

but I can't go to the store and drink a quart of brew
without running into the can I have a quarter crew
it seems they beg so much
their hands look like cups
enough is enough
it's back to doing stickup

killers busts caps
so I bust back
plus these crakheads are birthing little maniac rugrats

I'm changing much like the seasons do
everybody praise the power of the trigger so im squeezing too
if i negotiate they think I'm soft
I guess they can only understand the sound of pistols going off

so if its me or him picture that cat as good as popped
I'd rather lie behind some iron bars than in a wooden box
so send him flowers and bring me ciggarettes
not for a rep but Im going to choose life over death
i guess thats the way of the world and sense I cant change it
then how I feel is how I will bring it.

Sage & Thorn

From a Cowboy heart is born
Poets of the sage & thorn
We speak so all the world might see
The cowboy life, our legacy
Whether in the city raised
Or with the cattle as they grazed
You're transported swiftly back in time
When gathered to hear a cowboy rhyme
To wild & western days now past
Slowing a world which moves so fast
We offer our memories as a gift
hoping that your spirits lift
We are all Cowboy bred & born
Poets of the sage & thorn

Question Marks

I am a child of this broken generation.
An era where the leaders are the main concentration focused upon all of these
negative allegations.
I speak on behalf of the youth of our nation when I say that we the people, are the
on creation.
The one race that's the continuous face of the repetitive disgrace the keeps building
on the path of destruction.
The path of corruption fueled by child abduction, negative seduction, poverty, greed,
complete chaos.
A world where the desperate bleed.
A famous man said he had a dream.
Made the biggest change the world has ever seen.
And how do we repay?
We were supposed to be heading a good way.
Why has the world become so dark?
Why have we as the people become the dot under a question mark.
I just want to know, why?
Everywhere, everyday, every other hour,
we question such things as the beauty of a flower.
Why do issues in life try to keep us in the dark?
I ask, can we have a new start?
Or do we continue living in this world full of terror, hatred, preparing for a cataclysm
that we created.
Where is the love? Why is there hate?
Going at this rate, do you think its too late?
Can we make a change that will range from one age to the next?
A change that will correct hundreds of years of disrespect?
Look at life from a different aspect.
But I just want to know, how?
How were kept in the dark.
Stuck inside our mind is the power of a question mark.
Listen: I rate this "R" for Real.
Real for people who have no meals.
Real for people who can't see clear.
Real for those who are no longer here.
Listen to the real that's in this art.
Give this praise, hope for those in the dark.
May this become the spark that saves us from this world ran by question marks.

Don'T Blame Me

It wasn't my decision
I didn't have a say,
When the world became an ugly place
Night by night, and Day by day.

I was always busy
And had to work real hard,
I thought I'd left it up
To the so called ones in charge.

No it wasn't my fault
No one could ever blame me,
That our world is falling all apart,
And my main concern is me.

I did all I could do
Without causing myself pain,
I stayed within familiar walls
Watched it happen....rarely complained.

I never tried to make a stand
As long as I was free,
So put the guilt on someone else,
No way can you blame me.

Premium Member Little Clock

for Gertrud Widmayer, my landlady at Heidelberg

Why in pensive ticking, silent thoughts
   You wile your time away
When all around huge swelling bells
   Toll the days away!

Every hour that announced may go
   Your silent hands take hold
And though the ages chimed in ears
   Yours they never behold.

If all the clocks the world had known
Had struck one strong big note,
They would never still your plodding tone
Nor the working hearth you alert.

Do you wonder, wonder, little clock
   What makes the grandfather tick!
Or his aching belly in the depth of sorrow
Cries to the world it's sick!

Thirty million years and Pleistocene dark,
They are one split second short!
And whimpering suns that rise and flop
Have scarce stolen your tick or thought!

So, my little clock, my faithful clock
When I hear the tall town bell,
I'll shrug my shoulders, one tiny moment
And know that all is well.

Into the Flame

Summer passed with the smell of sweet perfume
And Autumn broke the soft the cocoon.
To avoid the winter freeze, flying next to beautiful wings.
Why can't I have any of these things?
At least a Moth can pretend.

Oh the cold it makes you shiver.
Abandon gold and all the silver.
All around and all in one place,
Connect the patches on my face.
Could it be rugged is my only friend.

Fly, fly right into the flame.
Next season you'll be born again.
So fly, fly right into the flame.
Don't you worry it's to early you'll be back again
And all the world you thought you left behind
Is already in front of your distant eyes.

He said "You have heart kid remember that.
I never want to see you where I'm at.
This I hope you never know, believe because I told you so".
I wish that you could let it go; cry for me if you can.
Shedding a tear won't make you less a man.

We drank as laughed of better days,
All while holding cups in fists if rage.
We know that life's this way, but oh why can't it change.
In a lot of ways we took the blame, so far apart, yet the same.
So cry for me if you can.

Fly, fly right into the flame.
Next season you'll be born again.
So fly, fly right into the flame.
Don't you worry it's to early you'll be back again
And all the world you thought you left behind
Is already in front of your distant eyes.

Summer passed with the smell of sweet perfume.
The northern winds came all to soon.
I don't recall what was the case, but their wings they couldn't lend.
At least a Moth can still pretend.

It Serves You Right

I came home,
And you were gone.
You left a letter,
Said you were movin on.

Said you didn't,
Have time to explain.
You were headin to boston,
To catch the next train.

Now you'r back,
Knockin on my door.
Lookin for the love,
That don't love you anymore.

It serves you right,
To be as lonely as you are.
It serves you right,
You torn my world apart.
So go back to the one,
Who took you from me.
I dont need you no more,
Now that i can see.

Now I am sittin here,
Soakin up the sun.
Thinkin of you,
And what you have done.

Feelin no more pain,
And healin my heart,
It serves you right,
To be as lonely as you are.

It serves you right,
To be as lonely as you are.
It serves you right,
You torn my world apart.
So go back to the one,
who took you from me.
I don't need you no more,
Now that I can see.

I don't need you no more,
I'm soakin up the sun in miami.
