The Wind and Sea
The mighty wind unleashed its gusty song
across the tranquil, undulating sea,
and stirred her body with his breath-filled kiss.
Set out to resurrect the dormant wave,
with ever-gaining speed, began to ride
her surface till it formed the throbbing swell.
She came alive with joy from wind's strong kiss,
and quivered to the music of his song
to join as one...the wanton wind and sea.
Vibrating life into the waking swell,
as higher climbed the ever-mounting wave,
the wind pursued its frantic, urgent ride.
In rapturous communion, wind, and sea,
succumbing to the magic of their song,
together formed the wave with passioned kiss,
and reached the grand finale of their ride;
with great dynamic thrust, exploding swell,
at last attained their thrill, the highest wave.
Wind's lusty song has left the tranquil sea;
its breathless kiss has bid farewell the wave
to end its ride, and put to rest the swell.

===========================================
The Tritina form is a mini version of a Sestina but there are three Tercets
of three lines and a final line which uses all three words; 10 lines total.
The three Tercet's use the same three ending words in a pattern.
I intermingled two Tritina using six ending words in the required
pattern with the last tercet using all six ending words from both of them.
1st Tercet: 1 2 3 song sea kiss
2nd Tercet: 4 5 6 wave ride swell
3rd Tercet: 3 1 2 kiss song sea
4th Tercet: 6 4 5 swell wave ride
5th Tercet: 2 3 1 sea kiss song
6th Tercet: 5 6 4 ride swell wave
7th Tercet: 1 2 3 4 5 6 song sea kiss wave ride swell
As I walked on a lonely beach,
I thought I spied a Mermaid--
But no, it couldn't be, I thought.
Yet, drawing near, I saw it was
a Mermaid sunning on a rock.
Her back, I saw, and fins.
as I looked on in shock.
She couldn't see me as I crept forward,
hid and watched
Her hair, like spun gold, blew gently
in Summer's breeze.
Her skin, an opalescent green--
by that, I mean
there were mingled hues
of peridot and opal
creating a soft sea green.
and, when she moved,
created opal's fire
amid her sheen
Her hands were webbed but versatile
and I could only stare
as she braided sunbeams
in her hair.
She began to hum
which soon became a song she sang
the music haunting,
yet nestled deep
were sounds of waves
kissing shore--
music I longed to keep.
Her song reached a crescendo
as sea waves crashed.
A moment only, I turned
and glanced at the sea.
When I looked back,
she had disappeared...
into a memory.
I found a pebble she had left
of iridescent green--a gift.
All along, she knew
I watched.
Often, at dusk,
I walk the lonely sands
and search for her.
I listen for her song...
but she has gone.
On the sea of time I sail with you
The sea is calm and the sky is blue
We are sailing for sweet dreamland
We must hurry give me a hand
Take a look at those merry dolphins
It’s a sign. Do you know what it means?
I can see through my telescope
An island full of dream and hope
Take a look at those flying seagulls
I am so excited check my pulse
O my sweetie my near and dear
Be patient we are almost there
I once wrote of lovely mermaid's song,
many years ago, yet still I long
to hear her haunting voice once again,
music of waves never reaching end.
Days I walk a lonely beach once more
searching for her on a distant shore.
Perhaps you're given only one chance
to capture a mermaid in your glance.
She was so lovely, I could but stare
as she braided sunbeams in her hair.
A gentle song she sang to the waves.
Perhaps they too had become her slaves.
Her vassal I could most proudly be
but, alas, she has no need of me.
I feel it useless, yet still I long
for a single note of mermaid's song.
Fables are spun of creatures like she
an enigma dwelling in the sea.
You may think my tale impossible,
truthfully, it's mythological!

Ships at sea the moonlight gray,
As I ponder and I pray.
Three lost souls forever gone,
As I weap so very very long.
Show my sorrow to the dead,
As I join them in my head.
Though the holy prey for me,
As I cry and as I bleed.
Ships at sea the moonlight gray,
As I perch upon my grave.
