Best Sky Blue Poems
When I take flight,
will it be by day or night?
Will you see me,
even if I am right in front of thee?
To fly like an angel I would be,
loving you and flying very free.
I would like to fly,
fly into the bright blue sky.
I will be there when you cry,
I will help to dry your tearful eye.
As an angel I would want to fly and flee,
loving you and flying with glee.
Then praying on one knee,
under the flowering pink spring tree.
I do not know if you can see me,
I will be with a big yellow bumble bee.
A firestorm of fleeing grace,
A holy aria from its base,
Its mem'ry will not be erased
From you.
The shifting shards of fate and chance,
The phosphorescent great expanse,
It all together seems to dance
For you.
A dream that stood a hundred years,
That, when it died appeared in tears,
And exiled all your joys and fears
Through you.
And when the dawn shrivels, subsides,
The queen of grievance stays your bride,
Though crying, all the dreaming tides,
They flew.
Augment your misery with gloom,
Let loneliness become your tomb,
Instead of watching flowers bloom
In you.
Now if you think you can and care,
That you will swear, that you will dare,
Then dream and it will take you there,
The mew.
You shall not ever justify,
The reasons we would all deny,
That in your life you'll never fly
It's true.
But love it smiles and beckons you
To strive and smile and linger too,
To bid the shame that flows through you
Adieu.
Who knew
That life could be so...
Sky blue!
Sudden Shower
by Michael R. Burch
The day’s eyes were blue
until you appeared
and they wept at your beauty.
This is a poem you’re welcome to share, if you like it, as long as you credit me as the author. It could be a nice “rainy day” poem, pardon the pun, for that special someone. “Why is it raining? Because the heavens saw your beauty and wept for joy!” The poem is similar in form to a haiku but that was accidental; it came to me in my sleep or as I was just waking up.
Some say I'm a daydreamer
Someday, I will get better; whatever weather...
Someday, I will be...with you forever
Some say never, but never say never
I've been drifting like a feather in the sky these days
I've been wandering in many ways…
I sway today, today
My wings go astray
What can I say?
I want you, I pray…
Hello to the sorrow in my soul, in my sad soul
Goodbye to tomorrow, for yesterday takes it toll
Strong feelings bury me alive and pile up in my bewildered brain
Lost my train of thought and I feel like I'm in so much pain
Made sense to me that you are gone
Who knew that you'd be moving on
You've given me a thousand reasons to give up all along
But, I'll give you a thousand more to prove you wrong
Some say I'm a hopeless singer, a lost believer
Someday, I'll bring you positivity, I'm sure
Someday, these hardships I will endure
Some say whatever, but I am a fighter
You've given me a thousand reasons
To float gaily like a feather in this freezing weather
You've given me a thousand seasons
To flourish like a fervent flower and be a butterfly aflutter
I sway today, today
My wings go astray
I've been drifting away
As you wait for me on the bay
As you find me before I go…I pray...
Before you go, can you go with me? Can I go with you?
I hope you know that, without you, I'm a beach sky-blue
Based on artwork called "Spellbound on the Stairs" by Catrin Weltz Stein
The night is a
surreal sky blue
A raven-hair maiden
sits at
the top
of a garden stairway
Branches from bushes
that drip
roses
of violet-blue hue
flank each side
of this b r o a d stairway
The young girl’s
summer white gown
of delicate lace
d r a p e s
three of the seven
stairs
beneath her
She is a swan -
neck gracefully tilted
down
as she intently reads
the large black
book on her lap
A moon both blue and white
looms above her
offering her
a huge globe of light
to read by
Sprinkled in the magical sky
are tiny twinkling orbs
Are they fairies
come to life
as she turns each page
of her fascinating book?
Spellbound is she;
Fantasy perhaps
has become
her reality
The sky is only blue,
to that of a closed minded individual.
But why is it that they see the sky to be blue?
Is it from the reflection of the ocean
mixing with the atmospheric light?
Or is it all just lack of perspective.
Is it just that they have never really looked.
I sure don't remember them proving,
the sky to be a color.
The sky to be an object.
Now ask a soul with an open mind.
Why is the sky blue?
And they will reply..
The sky is not blue!
I have never looked outside my window
only to see a color, nothing more.
The sky is the open, never ending imagination.
The sky is the passion that lives inside.
The sky is the inspiration that makes anything possible.
The sky smells like buttercups and tastes like tulips.
And the sky is only there,
to never slow us down.
But what ever it is that the sky may be.
We know one thing for sure.
The sky is not, never has, and will never be blue.
We shouldn't be concerned why
why is this sky so blue
I
haven't got a clue,
You make me feel uncertain why
shall I rejoice, in my sorrow
I trusted you, while you let me down
so now I face tomorrow sadden,
by our loss of mistrust, so I frown
not to smile, no smile, no smile,
for I am blue over you, whom blew it,
say, misery needs company, our sky
You,
Me Too
" Why is the sky blue? " , said the Baby Gnu. "
Why do the seasons start anew? " and " Why do they call this place Timbuktu? "
" I do not have a clue," said Papa Gnu. "
" But I believe it to be true,
that the answer is inside of you and when I am long gone,
I hope you have the view, that as you grew,
I did what was true,
tried my best to show you what to do
and keep you far, far away from that place called the zoo."
Oh, big ocean blue below just like the big blue sky above.
Many amazing shades of blues you can see from near to far.
With white fluffy foam on the water below and white fluffy clouds above.
The changing big ocean blue and the changing blue in the big sky from dawn to dusk.
May I always see and enjoy the many amazing shades of blues from near to far.
What a sight you both are to see from dawn to dusk.
Oh, big ocean blue below just like the big blue sky above.

"Deep Sea Sky Blue"
the contented life
rises and falls
bedded
the treasure chest
is touched briefly
inside a shell opens
constricted mind
of heart swallows
the bends,
it is found
wanting, so
releases
the fast,
changeling
embryo soul,
le enfant terrible
feeling the rips
like selkie
walls of skin
cool and warm
currents sucking
dark and light
kicking out
the within,
a transparent
circle rises
still life
perpetually
repeating
on carnate
incarnates
unstill
the unseen
surfaces
and surveys
the contented life
how it
rises and falls
bedded in shades
and shadows
of gently rising
and plunging
azure
outside
from within
deep sea
sky blue

the sky is listening--
sigh of the Magnolia
is making it cry
i look out the window
at the white winter world
she shows her clear sky
blue eyes frozen in pain
my mind cries
as people pass by
on sidewalks leaving
tracks in the snow
sky blue intense tone
sets the quintessential scene
to serene your mind

lofty altitudes
placate aching human views
in blue skies caress
we soar above earth grown feels
to idyllic emotions
A quiet storm made its way
Feelings strewn and blown astray
Enamored in one another were we
In turns a desperation to be free
Lost in each other, thus
A soft-focused portrait of us
Warm is the sea as the sun is swallowed
Pleading vacant hearts no longer hollowed
Silhouettes kiss in night’s moonlight
Tranquil bliss as our hearts reignite
All hindrances and snags we now transcend
At a shimmering prismed rainbow’s end
