Spellbound One Sky Blue Night

Based on artwork called "Spellbound on the Stairs"  by Catrin Weltz Stein

The night is a
surreal sky blue
A raven-hair maiden
sits at
          the top
of a garden stairway
Branches from bushes
that drip
            roses
                 of violet-blue hue
 flank           each           side
 of this   b   r   o   a   d    stairway

The young girl’s
      summer white gown
  of delicate lace
     d  r  a  p  e  s
  three of the seven
stairs 
          beneath her
   She is a swan -
 neck gracefully tilted
          down
  as she intently reads
    the large black 
    book on her lap

A moon both blue and white
      looms above her
        offering her
   a huge globe of light
        to read by
 Sprinkled in the magical sky
      are tiny twinkling orbs
  Are they  fairies
             come to life
  as she turns each page
  of her fascinating book?
   Spellbound is she;
        Fantasy perhaps
     has become
           her reality

She seemeth to read the black volume, yet methinks the volume is reading *her*—drawing her inward until moon, raven, rose, and starry orbs become not ornaments of her enchantment, but witnesses unto a reality her gaze hath summoned. Thy final question therefore lingers like a spell: perhaps fantasy hath not become her reality—perhaps reality hath discovered itself to be fantasy.🎉👏 ✨and where her page turns softly, the blue heavens seem to lean, as though the moon herself would read what stirs beneath her sight; for she who enters dreams may wake where dreams have ever been— and find the book she opened had been dreaming her to light.✨ MOHIT MITRA September 1, 2026 at 11:31 PM Dear Andrea, My mother hath oft told me that I learnt to sing and recite verses ere ever I learnt to speak. Yet my grandfather—a renowned dental surgeon, and, in his time, the father of the Association of Dental Surgeons—would have me become a physician; and so Literature remained beyond my formative years. 😢 Strange, is it not, how life setteth us upon one path whilst some ancient voice within us calleth from another? Yet old habits die hard—or, perchance, old callings harder still. If verse was in me ere speech, mayhap I was never meant to escape it.
