Best Serf Poems
Apparently Soup finds the Latin word for ‘Human’ offensive;
about as ‘P.C. gone wrong’ as it’s possible to get. I have had to
include completely superfluous hyphens in order to get the word
accepted.

Our home in the stars so often ransacked
Homo-destructus had forced us to act
So quick to breed
Killed - not to feed
Our ancient ancestors counter-attacked
All rounded up for a new rebirth
Transported far to a fertile Earth
A gauntlet they ran -
- Neanderthal man
Homo-destructus; victor or serf?
That was a million Earth years ago
Call us inquisitive, we need to know
A long stellar trek
In order to check
What occurs when you let primitives go
Five light years travelled to view their progress
Earth is an angry and war tangled mess
Our crew now lay savaged
Our ship also ravaged
Homo-destructus sees no welcome guest
That primeval race that we once left to swarm
With clubs and flint axes their weaponry norm
Strangely ironic
They’re now atomic
And Homo-destructus remains true to form

OH NAKED MAN IN HARMONIA
TELL ME WHAT IS LOVE
Love is when a sensitive child
Happens on a flowering hillside and
Cries out with joy
In the blazing eyes of a cat
The eyes only
Be it live
Or photograph
Love’s power is
That it has no secrets
Will allow none
Love will settle on a countenance
And strip it bare
For all the world to see
An old old man
Given up struggle
Given up thought
Helpless before his maker
Love has no earthly intelligence
But chooses fool
Or Saint alike
Some say love is complexity
But I say that love is simplicity
And draws its power
From contrast with complex things
So simple love
That it brings tears
Of disbelief
If love is fine
Where love is serf
Just think how great
Where love is king
On this side they call it love
What needs no name
In its kingdom
Love is not a God
It is a helpless thing
Without a power to persuade
Love needs no thought.
Those who think they love
Do not love at all
Think of every worldly set of situations
Thought about and then
Declare that love is none of these
None of these are love

Is this world made only for males?
Even History talks about 'His' Story only,
But I am the creator,
The creator should rule her creations,
I am the Master of this magnificent world,
Not a slave or serf to the feudal men,
Power never goes with gender,
Your prowess lies only in your cognizance,
Facing Dictators for years and years,
I have learnt to write my own fate,
This domination and suppression for ages,
Has sculptured my thoughts sharp,
Though manist needles stitched my mouth,
And tied my tongue with despotic credo,
Nothing can stop my hubristic thoughts,
Never the dry winds can swallow the mighty ocean,
Denial of self respect is denial of life,
Why confine me to a scullery?
When you can eat why not cook?
When you can wear why not wash?
When you can force why not follow?
This celestial sphere is boundless,
Immense and unfathomable,
My dreams are same,
Measureless and undefined
Your arbitrary chains can never pull my aspirations,
When you curtail, an inch grows more,
Discrimination for generations,
Pricked by Rape, Dowry and Adultery,
Wounds and sores all over burn,
But never the heads of male chauvinists turn
From time immemorial I was ruined,
Female foeticide and infanticide always rule,
Tradition and custom hinders my way,
Antiquated and rusted walls erected all around,
My cry for freedom hardly touches the blind ears,
But the gravel hearted men always begrudges,
Disparages and denigrates me,
Am I so inferior in your eyes?
With my muliebrity I brought you to this world,
With my muscularity I can bring this world under me,
Who are you to reserve my rights?
Now I Emancipate myself from your clutches
My wings are wide and extensive,
They are not to flap and fan your royal slumber,
I wanna fly high,
Across the boundaries,
Reach those alluring skies,
And shout “ I am the most powerful creation of all”
I am The Women.

Limerick: Once step-Father gave daughter away
Once step-Father gave daughter away
But first exercised his rights of sway
Droit de cuissage decree*
Gave to Wife repartee:
Doubled their joy now in every way!
* In European feudal societies during the Middle Ages and thereafter
in succeeding centuries, it is thought that
the Lord of the Manor or Seigneur of the Serfdom arrogated for himself
the Droit de cuissage, i.e. the right to sleep with the bride of a serf on
the wedding night.

Limerick
William the First was our last king to come uninvited
though invincible armadas have sometimes been sighted.
Foreign kings were imported in cases of doubt.
Native kings had the habit of getting thrown out.
In the War of the Roses none tipped the scales
till the fray was joined by young Richmond from Wales.
A house like the Tudors for to bring to an end
on virgin queens you may safely depend.
Then came the Stuarts, who in Scotland had root,
but being too tactless, they were given the boot.
Though of Orange the house was not without fame,
some Irishmen spit when they hear Billy’s name.
George the First from Hanover as in matters English ill versed;
for affairs of state a state of affairs by no means the worst.
George the Third, however, spoke English quite well,
so Yanks up in arms told the Liberty Bell.
Thus Frenchmen and Dutchmen, Germans and Danes
have made their subjects rack their poor brains.
But the history of monarchs whose accents were poor
holds even today many lessons in store.
At the hustings all parties will promise us aught,
but after elections some memories are short.
“A kink is a man, no less and no more,”
said a very wise king as he sat on the shore.
“Let each of you here, thane or serf, be astute.
Don’t expect me to do what I plainly canute.

Homage to Catalonia?
Policeman wielding batons or shedding a welled up tear,
Flag waving populace or staying home in fear,
State defence of self, or defending an historic lie,
Should we pay homage, or should we just weep and cry?
Turning out to vote, or disobedient serf,
Democratic abuser or defending right of birth,
Violent state repression or debating reasons why,
Should we pay homage, or should we just weep and cry?
Hurried lines drawn on maps or quite beyond the pale,
Land up for rental or permanently for sale,
Freedom of expression or state to look and pry,
Should we pay homage, or should we just weep and cry?
Part of bigger state, or standing on your own,
Wired in kit at home, or mobile telephone,
Going with a third, or vote not home and dry,
Should we pay homage, or should we just weep and cry?

Couplet
Fourteen-thousand years ago, a devil played a game
In his garden with an angel whom I shall not name.
The angel won or so he thought, “Now you must pay what’s due”
I’ll take your mirr’, your favorite one, and break the thing in two.
The mirror was a magic one of evil dark and black
“The beauty of a perfect world, now what’s the fun in that?
This one’s far better, it twist, it pulls it shrinks before my eyes.
Instead of showing true reflections, this one shows me lies”
“I’ll tell you what, you won it fair, it’s yours but let’s do more;
I’ll help you break it here and now and it will be no more.”
The angel smashed it into two, his hammer in his hand.
“But why stop there?”, the devil said and smashed it into sand
The Devil grinned, “Good work my friend. See, I don’t even care”
He scooped a handful of the dust and blew it in the air.
Among the people of the earth, the grains of mirror blew.
The angel warned them “Close your eyes!” and blew his trumpet too
“What gift is this?” some people thought, Eve’s lesson was not learned.
and soon awoke with crusty eyes that itched and teared and burned.
“I see it now!” the faithless said “I am no longer blind!”
“Don’t be cross” the devil said, "Their eyes see now like mine".
Some were seized with a panicked fear, “The enemy is nigh!”,
and with cruel rocks marched on their neighbors and sentenced them to die.
Others were charmed by shiny stones “Supplies are running out!”
The simple gifts that God had given were left to lay about.
Some saw themselves with grandeur high “I’ll wear this mighty crown”,
I’ll be the King, you be the serf, and bow when I’m around.
The other ones yoked to the plow, “These types aren’t men at all”.
I’ll tolerate your presence if you're at my beck-and -call.
Of arrogance and fear and greed the mighty nations grew.
And men would starve and wars would rage for these unfaithful few.
So hear me now you righteous ones whom the devils would refuse:
In the game of life Good always wins, but bad will never lose.

Ballad
Oppressed is he, a coward in his house,
A cringing serf, to the despotic spouse!
Without a voice unless she's not adverse;
His meagre wealth kept deep inside her purse;
When friends advise she will demand to know;
He fears her tongue more than a Stygian foe!
By misfortune were she to be my wife,
I'd quell her temper, stop her wanton life;
Then tempt her with the buckle on my shoe,
Kiss her soubrettes, then flog the wayward shrew.
The Tyrant Wife. By the poet Robert Burns
Curs'd be the man, the poorest wretch in life,
The crouching vassal to the tyrant wife!
Who has no will but by her high permission;
Who has not sixpence but in her possession;
Who must to her his dear friend's secret tell;
Who dreads a curtain lecture worse than hell!
Were such the wife had fallen to my part,
I'd break her spirit, or i'd break her heart:
I'd charm her with the magic of a switch,
I'd kiss her maids, and kick the perverse *****.

Limerick : Once ***** Duke insisted on Serf Thigh rights
Once ***** Duke insisted on Serf Thigh rights*
So bridegrooms replaced brides on first nights:
Droit de cuissage* then free
Duchess claimed repartee –
Since newly-weds rush to castle in tights!

Limerick
Although I'm young am tired you see
from all the scheduled laborious activities
stepmother decided to step out momentarily
with stepsisters going on a ball shopping spree,
With me home alone to do arduous tasks
such as making candles from the bees wax
washing the dishes, sweeping and making the beds
making all the meals which I fear they will dread,
Growing and cultivating the vegetable garden
milking the cows out in the barn pen
basically waiting on the step family hand and foot
cleaning out the fireplace with all of the soot,
Gossip lately about going to the prince's ball
always ridiculing me like I'm just a serf rag doll
saying I'm not good enough to go with them
to stay home and sweep and look after the pets,
So as I take a break from all of the housework
I enjoy the peace and quiet for all that it's worth
sitting here in my chair with my broom by my side
daydreaming of one day becoming the prince's bride.

The morning sun showers its rays,
Standing between two mountain's way,
The valley of flowers opens its eyes,
And washes its face with melting ice,
The yellow glow slowly surrounds,
Like a majestic king's glittering gold crown.
The shinning dew drops down,
To kiss the scented lemon grass ground,
The raising enemy melts them out
But the green lady never worries about,
She is in high demand every night,
And the virgin dew never get a first night.
The cuddling Cock feels so warm,
Unfurl its wings and crows nature's alarm,
The longing sunflower raises its head,
To see her lover and plead for a wed
The pine and spruce frozen in cold,
Shakes its head and opens it's fold
The lazy river deeply snores,
Beneath the blanket of frigid ice floor,
Awakes from sleep and flows with elated joy,
And announces the summer to the tardy school boys.
It carries the logs on its back
To help the suffering Lumberjacks
The serf warm winds blows across,
And clear the snow on the uncovered cars,
The tiny droplets stick to the panes,
On which the naughty kids write their names,
It mobs the roads clean and bright,
For the frozen ice flakes to turn it white.
The moving sun stands at top,
Shadows falling on the afternoon back drop,
Sober nature alerts its friends,
To work for their living before the day ends,
Flora and fauna like fleet – footed bees
Hurries to gather the Vitamin D
The evening princess Golden Crown,
Wanna kiss the hottest Day light's Sun,
The nature's beauty blushes for million eyes,
Waiting to see the romantic skies,
She drops the night screen to make her hide,
Behind which two lovers peptide.
Murkiness fills the cosmos space,
And the dancing clouds falls into place
The resting time for the Sun,
The crescent night lamp glows with fun,
The sentinel stars shield the gate
And the Gorgeous universe hibernate,

Great lion who once ruled the land,
you are a serf to your lord.
Gone is your kingdom where you reigned.
You now serve new masters these days.
You fell from your once proud throne.
Your home is now humble and plain.
Among those who serve, you’re not alone.

The blind, jaundiced eagle falls from the sky.
Falling free, it's the death of liberty.
No need for autopsy to figure why.
Is it freedom we want, or all things free?
We’ll protect you from life so hazardous.
We know how to fix it when you’re hurting.
Blame those other guys, with laser focus,
All hail the figure behind the curtain!
It will be paradise on Earth, you’ll see!
Even if it’s run by a psychopath.
Endless holiday, serf-ing safari
Even if it seems like we can’t do math.
Enslavement by vote coming to your town!
Just don’t let those other guys get you down.

Everything was property of the state
life of a serf didn't even rate
tyranny from Lords,Dukes and Barons
production of goods,they weren't sharin'....
Coxcomb magistrate castle seneschal
internal scheming took alot of gall
court intrigue was their special interest
todays politics aren't that different....
A new portal behind every door
a gambit of play being explored
every encounter a game of chance, but,
what do you bear, the cross or the lance?
Crucified was understanding and peace
self improvement were messages laced
drawing together opposing views
in hope that the scattered may be imbued...
But,the North didn't like that ideo
divide and conquer their modeled credo
superior force their specialty
as divided bands are managed easily...
Plantation,indian reservation...
one produces,the other reduces,
civilization,or planned domestication,
one infuses the other defuses,
West Bank,the Gaza Strip
others kept in seperation
docile,servile,beware becoming sterile,
the active mind to waste away
the fallen... entropy to atrophy,
human spirit refuses degradation
treading deliberate indoctrination...
The taming of the animal nature
still engrossed in pain and pleasure,
law required to maintain civility
until we can achieve a true humanity...
Peace is still the want of many
when will humanity be truly ready
we make the choice of what we covet
true soul'diers serve minute by minute...
A new portal behind every door
a gambit of play being explored
every encounter a game of chance, but,
what do you bear...the Cross or the Lance?
( the cross and the lance are symbols
of the old kingdom beliefs of ruling,
with either mildness and severity or
the olive branch and the sword )
