Best Seething Poems
Minutes creep, Hours sweep
Sleepless nights
the shackles become too tight
Bounded by you day and night
One,two,three…..
Here comes the Shattering foe , a seething woe
I don, as I walk a heavy load
A precise weight: Ten thousand yoke!
It holds for me a heavy score
For I “Fall upon the thorns of life I bleed’
Phantoms of my sleep
Countless and boundless they stretch upon a shrouded course
The burden of long past ordeals I carry, I bear
Like the very scarlet letter, I stand here, I wear
The hearts of many, with bare hands I tear
A fleeting goodness, a howling soul
Darkness engulfs….
The past wounds of countless souls,
is what I! Me! The Misanthropic wore….

Lyric
The only thing I hate more than unintelligence
Is a bold-faced liar that thinks they blend amongst friends
Using weakenesses as weapons falsely condescending contention
Crashing house of cards paper tiger denys a correction
Even knowing that they face something beyond profound
This game they play only works on what is gained and not found
So when real life hits it leaves them with a lie to undo
But I saw you even though it ceased I just can't let it be true
Nothing personal but you deny that we are both foes
In battle fought with intellect you can't deny I won't lose
And this certainty it scares you to the core you recluse
Like a coward you back out acting as if nothing ensued
But we both know your true face lacks a backbone to stand it
And that something is why I prevail locking door sealing in madness
Coping mechanism feeds demons that just hand over rope
Slithered navigating life upon fissure ridden slippery slope
Had it coming you just didn't know it came with account
Now you're seeing and believing left without not a doubt

feeding on its own fire,
it rages from within itself,
ablaze with the vilest ire
under the veneer of civility,
with spiteful vengeance,
it smolders smokeless
'neath the mask of generosity,
with murderous intent,
it burns flameless
behind the facade of sincerity,
with insatiable wrath,
it explodes noiseless
in a friendly smile embedded,
a cold, seething ember - -
white-hot hatred.

Tail-rhyme
Foam whitely seethed, stirred up by surf
While sun beat down upon hot sand
And there, a way’s, a couple lounged
In folding chairs set side-by-side,
Umbrella flapped, it cast its shade,
When up the strand two ladies trekked,
Bikinis bright and teeny, tight,
Man’s face, alert,
With eyes joined them:
From where she sat,
Rebuked woman,
Hand tugged his chin,
Imploring stop!
His finger rose,
Her chair, she left
To point their way.
“So what?” he shrugged,
Both feet he found,
Her back, she turned,
His arms went cross
And head leaned in,
The shifting breeze
With anger filled—
She stooped and grabbed her canvas tote
And swiftly marched past swaying grass,
Retreating well behind the dune;
Umbrella sagging, chairs turned flat,
The jilted man, he struggled, stormed:
He made the dune and plodded on
While surf roared in, and foam seethed white.

Inflamed by Earth's deadly sins
Bolt lightning claps

Prose
The still water of the northern swamp
shone like anthracite coal
lending a rainbow hue to the
mirrored reflections of maiden hair fern
and skunk cabbage.
Strangely grotesque maples
rooted wearily beneath in the hidden depths
of blue-blackness.
The summer sky above hang topsey turvey
Its sunlight sparkling
like fireflies upon the still water.
The leaden air caskets the first layer
of rampant growth,
misting moss, masking mushrooms,
where slick green frogs hide
beneath pink pond lilies.
The heat bakes the red clay bank
cracks gape like the toothless open mouth of a baby.
Layers of hot air create mirages of fright
as the swamp seethes in delight.

My entire being is seething sore now, set ablaze.
Nothing can abate the anger, it's fury erase.
Rage flows ferocious in every artery and vein.
My fists clenched, do tremble, my muscles strained, ache in pain.
How did you think I would react when you dropped your bombshell?
That I'd sigh, take a deep breath, and pretend all is well?
Forgive, forget the hurt and pain you knew it would bring?
Assuming seething would be a fleeting feeble sting?
No, I cannot forgive, forget this seething feeling.
As I'm burnt out, ashes charred to dirt and dust grieving.

SEETHING
I'm bleeding
And I'm seething.
To the top of my lungs,
I am screaming.
I weary of your incessant
Scheming.
My heart splinters into a million, razor sharp
Shards.
I'm just now realizing that life's always this hard.
This betrayal is nearly driving me insane!
All joy in my soul has begun to
Drain
Out of my pores without refrain.
My crystalline tears I've shed
Have turned from clear into red.
All due to the lies and the gossip
You've spewed and you've spread.
I won't hear even one more lie.
For this is my final, farewell, goodbye.
To escape from you
So, I'll always be free.
I'll no longer belong to you.
I'll finally belong to me.

Voices from deep within,
Voices from my recesses,
Two worlds in my chambers,
War within my members.
There’s an interference of thoughts,
They also see-saw,
I strive to permute them,
I stand amid crashing waves.
Oh! The billows within me,
My belief is tried in a fiery furnace,
I'm caught in a web of complexities,
I’m shaken vehemently to the foundation.
I know who I believe,
I know to whom I pledge my allegiance,
My hands hold firmly to my shield,
To ward off encroaching assailants.

Staring at the hospital bed
At Anne, my mum, lying motionless
I shook my head
Wondering, speechless
Why this precious soul, assailed by a severe stroke
Should bear an unfair burden
Between a hard life and a granite rock by the clock
I felt my heart harden
Asking God why such a lot
Anne should stare
Was it a plot
Anne could wear everywhere
Seventy five years, twenty four seven and counting
I asked
Anger in my bosom mounting
My mind tasked
To wonder, wonder and wonder
If pilgrimage on Earth could reduce my dotting mum
To an incapacitated invalid yonder
My capacity to grow glum and numb
In circumstances that rendered me helpless
Unable to offer succor in her hospital harbour
Beyond pleading, beseeching God for less
Trauma bereft of rancor
I knelt down and prayed
For Anne who forty eight hours earlier asked for John
As on that loveless bed, Anne, lay dismayed, disarrayed, frayed
Knowing not how I dissolved in my zone in my every bone.

Dreaming up bloody battles night after night.
Sleep on a bed of thorns turned over light.
This is how we return to the rude guests.
The worst possible scenario was the best.
The heart and mind joined together.
Lady with a passion for stormy weather.
Yes, even with my eyes squeezing shut.
At night, beauty is seen at the door of your hut.
Think of your existence as a nightmare.
And you'll never wake up, don't you care?
The moon tracked me as I tried to breathe.
Death in the sun, the towns seethe.
Sun drips on my head to provide peace.
The first breaths of the vivid truth ceased.

Sonnet
Caught in the middle of the adult fight.
Leverage is gained or taken depending upon if I look left or right.
The shouting and screaming becomes numb to my mind.
The sneering and seething; why does it have to be every single night?
The detachment of the object of me from their eyes. They don’t seem to see or realise that they’re dimming the light in my eyes. That my young mind can see straight through their hate driven tears and lies.
The cold feeling in the air though so, so warm it is outside.
The same words flying through the air amongst the alcohol fuelled foul mouthed cries.
Blamed because they put me here; here to ruin their lives.

Nostrils flared every so slightly
Jaw tightened, strangling a smile,
Teeth clenched were locked in traffic jam, seized up
Eyes narrowed to piercing dagger points leering with malice
On the face and brow, the wrinkles erupted tight, highlighted
Complexion inflected flushed ruddy ruby red with rage
Breaths were short, sharp, shallow and puffy.
Clearly this was a seen-seething opening scene.
Despite attempts to stall and hide the curtain roll,
behind the grimace of lips vice-gripped,
and teeth clenched into a feeble, forced and fake smile,
was the seething scene that didn't fool anyone in the room!

Her husband’s angry words were like shrapnel,
They exploded in her brain.
Forgiveness was not easy.
He thought it was over.
The words kept popping up in her head though.
She never fully forgot them.
She heard these words every December,
She heard them whenever she saw a Santa Claus
For he had been dressed as Santa at the time
he spit these words at her like maiming bullets.
She remembered his mother had been in the room,
and somehow that had made it worse.
Her husband had no idea the words were still ricocheting
Forty six years later, but they were there
Because they were being relived every Christmas.
Often times the fierceness of the words relived was worse than the original.
She divorced him forty-seven years after they were uttered
Because it was Christmas and she could not let them go.

Why did he do that???
White lines
Speeding past into black
This night
Mind’s firing to crack
Fear
Hell beckons down this track
Anger
The needles not turning back
Red line
Engine screams into the dark
Sharp blade
Sink onto the knife
Red eyes
Heart’s beating so wild!
Murder
Blood all over black tar
Screaming
Did I just do that?
Silence
I’m here all alone
Crying
Mum, what have I done?
Body
Please, please, I just don’t know?
Sirens
Please come with us
Small cell
Life’s over, life’s lost.
