Best Seen The Light Poems

Truth be told
truth behold,
This I see
is how all unfolds

In plain sight
not in darkness
like here tonight
I see the sky
ask myself why
there’s no reply,
No mothership
to take a trip

And… oh my god
I’m overwhelmed!
by majesty …
constellations
partnerships
A crescent moon
beckoning me
imploring me
to look harder,
The answer’s here
before my eyes
not in disguise

(Moon)

I’m here for you
at this moment
let’s synchronise,
Be here for me too
we are the same
you have a mind
I reflect the flame

The big guy
is below horizons
elsewhere rising,
draped in plasma
I follow his lead
unerringly accede

We made you
and you make us
by being here
conscious aware,
we overlook
you undertook
to question why
But there is no lie

The truth’s blinding
the truth’s binding
so let it be
Not always pretty
Not always loving
Not always giving
Not always taking
never faking
open and bare
Raw and gaping

Man gives us reason
we bring him seasons
his path seems tough
and never enough
So thank you
for looking up
come what may
we shared a reflection

Go now brother
we’ve seen the light,
Others did too tonight
just not as bright

Premium Member Hanging By a Thread

I’m on the verge of losing everything
as lashing tears are thrashing ‘gainst the night
and mournful notes of black rose petals sing
from wells so deep they’ve never seen the light.

My come to Jesus moment on my knees,
I’m at your mercy in my darkest hour.
In desperation hear my praise and pleas,
the moody gloom surrounding me is dour.

These thorny thoughts of you won’t let me loose
and breathing is a fight I might not win.
High hopes and dreams in broken promise noose
from rope of human nature and of sin.

In woeful rhythm beaten heart does beat ~
my blood does sing the blues of your deceit.

Premium Member List of Shame

You'd think by now companies would have seen the light
And stopped trading in Russia and doing what is right
But many big companies are still there, raking it in
Indirectly funding that war mongerer Vladimar Putin.

See the list of companies above and remember a name
How the hell do they sleep at night, have they no shame ?
Their profits are being payed with Ukrainian blood
Bodies of innocent people lying dead, in snow and mud.

Russians are cowards, man to man they won't fight
And fire missiles indiscriminately at everything in sight
A sign of sheer desperation by an evil Russian despot
But Ukraine is fighting back with everything they've got.

The Truth About My Mother

I would love to start of my poem about my mom, using words that refer to us having a bond,
However, words like embarrassment, hurt and definitely other words come to mind that are not so fond,

These are the words that come to mind when I tell about the woman who raised me,
As I continue to explain about her, you will see why I always wanted to flee.

She was the type of mom that always made me feel ugly inside and out,
She did not enjoy seeing me happy but preferred seeing me cry and pout.

I was humiliated, screamed at, hit, belittled and more,
I even had my stuff in my bedroom thrown to the floor.

She told me everything was my fault and that I did nothing right,
I hated to wake up in the morning and see the daylight.

We watched my father grow ill and I prayed she would change,
Instead it made her more cruel and more deranged.

My father was ill for many years and I knew why he was afraid to say goodbye,
All he worried about was my mother and this made me cry.

My husband decided it was time to let him pass the right way,
By making a promise we would take care of mom, sadly he passed away the next day.

We are now doing the right thing by upholding our words we said,
Even though deep inside the pain causes me to cry to sleep in bed.

My mother has humbled, maybe she has seen the light,
Or maybe knowing our sacrifices is always in her sight.

We will be building an upstairs for her to live, her own entrance she will need,
My promise to my dad I will fulfill, I say he'll be proud of me, in God's Speed.

I pray at night to give me faith because I hope my mom will be better,
I want to be able to share it with everyone in a poem or a, letter.

If she does not change and continues to remain the same,
I still say I did the right thing and there is no one to blame.

Premium Member You Are Not Defined By- Another's Perception

You once told that I was beautiful
Later on,after kids and weight gain
Your perception of me began to alter
You didn't look at me with loving eyes
I had changed in your eyes…….
You said I had repulsed you
For years I put up with your abuse
Your vicious words had hurt me deeply
I believed your every word, I loved you so
I fell into a deep dark world of depression
But one day I had somehow seen the light
I realized that beauty comes from within
You had put me in a prison of abuse
You were a warden of pain and insult
I am no longer your prisoner
Your perception of me doesn't matter
Only mines and mines alone does
Your hurtful words can not and will not
Define me because I am now totally free

Back To That Beauty, In World's Dear Blue Sky

I exist, despite world's dark, angry scowls
In my dreams as a panther on the prowl
In tune with Nature, hunted by mankind
Living as a beast, of another kind
Absent, the deep darkness once within me
Fearlessly tread path, setting my soul free!

I exist, truth is I do not know why
I see such gleaming beauty in blue sky
And black rage festering within mankind
Racing into oblivion so blind!

I exist, world's powers oft I deny
When alone, 'tis true often tears I cry
In future happiness upward I fly
Back to that beauty, in world's dear blue sky!

( Wherein Briefly, A Heart And Soul Can Clearly See )

Note:
A dear poet friend asked me yesterday to post something not so dark.
Maybe write a new more beautiful and optimistic poem.
Well, I tried but my mood would not allow one to come that I felt measured up. So, I searched in my chest of old poems that had never yet seen the light of day and found this one. Present it, hoping that it measures up to meet the request. I was a very young 23 years old when I composed it--" many ages ago it now so seems".. Presented now with no edits.

My alegence is pledged to one who blows in the wind We are blessed to be in the Republic for which it stands

One nation, under God always, as our flag blows in the wind I have this treasured piece, folded and neatly tucked away

I must keep it secure, assuring that it never goes astray Since I have owned it, never has it seen the light of day

Perhaps someday, I shall set it free to blow in the wind I'd love to see it flap its wings, but I don't know when

This prized possession of mine has thirteen stripes Seven stripes are clothed in the hardiness of red

Six of the stripes are beautifully arrayed in purity white I must secure a flag pole and watch it blow in the wind

I am the grateful and the proud holder of my 48 state flag May God wrap us all in the blue color of vigilance, perseverance, and justice.

Premium Member The Veil

I dreamt
I lifted the veil
And seen the light
And everything was alright

The secret was no longer hidden
As a girl, I played by the sea
The seven seas were open to me
And I beheld the wonders of the world

In my older years, I dreamt
I saw the silence of the final hour
Then I felt it drifting away from me
A place where we all will pass someday

Premium Member Enter My Dream Smiling

Enter my dream smiling, never pausing to ponder why
Whispering gently to me, exploring the phrases I write
Listening to cadence of heart composing ardent reply

Questions linger unanswered poking pain in teary eye
Answers blunder aimlessly unresponsive to life's plight
Enter my dream smiling, never pausing to ponder why

I'll bring you comfort, discerning sigh, hearing your cry
Witness the rhythm of passion scintillating in my sight
Listening to cadence of heart composing ardent reply

Not easy to share my feelings when love has yet to try
Come prepared to lose yourself wandering in my night
Enter my dream smiling, never pausing to ponder why

Decipher romantic call, reveling in joy, lifting you high
Hold my affection, embracing love, to shed your fright
Listening to cadence of heart composing ardent reply

Having discerned text of minds you have seen the light
Surrender to sensual feelings , snuggling love just right
Enter my dream smiling, never pausing to ponder why
Listening to cadence of heart composing ardent reply

Dream about tomorrow
But live for today
Count all your blessings
Like children count the stars

Finding ways to make wishes
And dreams come true for you
Reminding you to keep believing
In brigher days and in yourself too

To give you Hope that is
As certain as the sun
May you always have an Angel by your side
Helping you through all

When we're born, we begin to die
When we die, we begin to live
I've seen the Light that shines
through God's Divine Love for all to see.

Premium Member Have You Seen the Light

Have you seen the light of Him that shines brighter then the
Aludra star of heaven's lair, and have you seen the rays that
Veer towards you when you pray, my brother have you
Ever known more peace then when you bow your head in prayer

Yoked to your heart He is your everlasting soulmate and your friend
On the wings of faith you can soar towards Him night and day
Unearth your fears and find the comfort that you need

Sacred Father, Abba, Patriarch and Archer of all that is good in you
Every action of yours is guided by His Holy subservient angels
Experience Him in your journey of love and know that you are
Noteworthy of His protection. Sister of life on earth plant a seed

The creator will water it and make it grow like a rose in the dessert
Hide it from the enemy let it prosper in His vineyard. You the
Elect who is never left in the dark, is a child of the Beloved,

Love with all your heart as he has loved you, built an alter and
Invite Him to your table dear friend, He is the candle that burns bright
Goodness and peace will follow you if you make
Him your confessor and your constant companion .
Trust in Him who created you to His image, know you are loved.

Sick of Sorrow: I Will Make It

Buried alive by your goodbyes
Airborne dead by your senseless lies
Overcoming feelings of hurt,
Seeking first His comfort

Drenched in silence
While the waters rinses away
The dread from my head
The squalid grief left me
Breathless for only a moment,
Then it disappears instead

So sick of the sorrow
So, I’m high up in the clouds
Let me live till tomorrow
Let me avoid the endless crowds

I won't wear my usual frown
While I swim in waters of blue
And trek on grounds of brown
I am sipping the liquids of morning dew

Succumb to courageousness
I won't ascend with sadness
Repugnant rage drifts away so fast
My happiness from above is so vast

Buried alive by your goodbyes
Airborne dead by your senseless lies
Overcoming feelings of hurt,
Seeking first His comfort

I'm the prey of mere procrastination
I'm falling victim to foolish sensation
Need effulgence and a sense of relief
From this rather squalid, despicable grief

Being sorrowful is extremely pitiful
This brief grief will disappear
And become something so beautiful,
So fear not, my doubtful dear

Relieve me
Release me
Release the demons from my mind
I'm a stranger in danger from long ago,
Simply left behind…left oh so blind
I'm a loner, all alone, trying to go with the flow

Everyday, I wish
I could soar away
The bottomless anguish
Maybe it’ll be today…

It’s been far too long…way too long…
Since I've seen the light (I'll make it tonight)
Since I've knew right from wrong
I will try with my might (I'll make it alright)

Guilt

No other place so wretched
Has ever seen the light
Its treachery ever hidden
By the darkness of the night

A prison of forgotten promises
A tomb of shattered dreams
The silence ever broken
By the sounds of hollow screams

Death here has no meaning
For we all just wait to die
Beckoning, though we might
It will only pass us by

Trapped here in this prison
Where no one will ever find
My thoughts now hold me hostage
Inside my infected mind

Poisoned, by my trangressions
And the broken trust I've built
I suffer in this shameful place
A place that I call Guilt

Darkness and Light

Where there's darkness
know that there's light
We only know it's dark
because we've seen the light

Light guides us
through the dark
But darkness shows us
who we are

Without the Dark We Wouldn'T See the Stars

The skies light up with hope and joy tonight.
Past dues are paid with pieces of my heart.
I've tunneled through and finally seen the light.
This love delights me with a brand new start.

Without the dark we wouldn't see the stars.
And starlight led you to my broken door.
Erasing pain and healing all my scars.
I know now what this heart is beating for.

The music of your kiss is all I sing.
A paradise on earth is where I live.
Fragments of the moon are what you bring.
Peace deep in my soul is what you give.
