I saw you across the room
You were with my best friend
Dancing to a slow song -Harvest Moon
You held her tightly in your arms
Then planted a passionate kiss
Oh Its My Party and i will cry if I want to
Cry if I want to and I did

I was deeply hurt and shocked
If You Could Read My Mind
You would know my hurtful thoughts
Oh my heart aches so badly
So your friend came up to me
He spoke calmly softly
He called me Blue Angel
Said he would never leave me
Feelings he had for me was strongBlue Bayyou

Strong feelings for me
He said "Together we would go
to the BlueBayou where the
sailboats go a float int Blue Bayou

Premium Member Seaside Serenade

Wind and sea and waves and sun
sand in toes as day is done
Seagulls glide, sandpipers run
young dad splashes with his son

Breakers rise, translucent teal
   lifeguards poised as youngsters squeal
Seniors search for shells - they feel
twelve again as sun rays heal

Sky on fire towards the west
   clouds in lustrous fashion dressed
Cosmic artistry - I'm blessed
songs of peace swirl through my chest

Violins waft quietly
  over swelling timpani
Saxophone soars soulfully
bidding hearts to be set free

Blushing scarlet, clouds advance
  smell of salty foam enchants
Palm trees sway as in a trance
recalls young love's first slow dance

Couples stroll, fingers entwined
share a kiss if so inclined
Rising moon smiles as designed:
gives the anxious peace of mind

Waves still warm from midday blaze
  surfers dance in sea-mist haze
Sailboats flee from stress-filled days
  springtime struts; summer sashays

Sunrise On the Beach

Shades of pink paint the sky
gentle waves kiss my feet
return again to the sea
seagulls cry

Sun rises to bring the day
the dampness of the night
fading away
a new day

On the horizon specks of white
sailboats passing by
dolphins run alongside
unafraid

footprints in the sand
I am not alone
a kindred spirit
passed this way

seashells appear
driftwood too
remnants of the sea
treasures for me.

Pale red now the sky
the sun
peeks through the trees
bringing to life the beach

seabirds scurry around
there next meal to find
between each wave
is where their bounty lies

little diamonds dancing
sunlight on the sea
the beauty of it all
here for you and me.

Summer

He saunters in with a slow steady gait
gathering all of nature in his warm embrace.

The whimsical artist splashes colors to sky;
miniature airplanes and exotic shaped kites.

Vocal chords of moon beams strummed by crickets and toads;
a serenade through open windows of our humble abodes.

So light on his feet; ocean's glass dance floor;
leading sailboats to sea and lovers to shore.

His breath on your neck puts you under his spell;
caught up in his love, as romances swell.

His pulse beats hot through sun ray veins,
then he showers us with gifts of cool, fresh rain.

We lounge with him in fields and meadows,
and miss him as Fall nudges him deep in the shadows.

Summer Dreams

Golden goddess up above,
shine down on me rays of love.
Summer dreams, they come to me,
bright white sands on the beach.
Rays of sun that warm my skin,
waves of blue come crashing in.
Sailboats sailing in,
summer breezes, summer wind.
Sandcastles along the shore,
summer rains, they always pour.
Summer dreams they come to me,
children playing on the beach.
Rays of sun that warm the sand,
couples walking, holding hands.
Baby blue summer sky,
summer dreams of you and I.

Premium Member Ode To Summer

Farewell, au revoir, goodbye, convivial summer.
The day is late now, and the breeze is warmer.
A vacant ocean-side barricaded motel.
Wild geese are soon flying in lines as well.

Vacation homes drop their literate barricades.
This rich sweeping green tone will soon fade.
In this season, buds and fruits are abundant.
Melons and garden load are ardent.

Tanned skin, sailboats, and folded linen suits.
When the world is more positive than disputes,
Pollen irritates the sinuses of sensitive patients.
Now they've fled to the farm, the coast nascent.

Stop their passing endeavor at escape.
The Ferris wheel in LEGOLAND is agape.
The Cape no longer trades in quirkiness.
A glum family descends from the murkiness.

To welcome their offspring back from camp.
Mature year, scarlet maple boughs, raised scamp.
Sunburned shoulders disappear at summer's end.
Goodbye to the peasant's headband.

Goodbye storms and dirty white shoes.
Goodbye summer friends, pants, shorts, and cruse.
Farewell, tennis peculiar desire to be difficult.
Farewell picnics, ice tea, and plane trips, munificent.

Premium Member The Girl On the Boardwalk

                  ~Echoes of Yesterday~

          Walking on the Boardwalk
on a hot, steamy, summer day.
In a two piece rose bathing suit, twas decades ago!
I was only seven and seeing the Atlantic,
          for the very first time.
I loved the waves, oh !

I bought a dear bracelet that I still own.
With silver circular disks and sailboats in
          each glistening so!
The salt water taffy was like manna from heaven.
To this French-braided young girl, only of seven.

Nobody dressed as oddballs or freaks I see today!
Not one person, a walking crayon nor a billboard
          proudly,displaying a shirt with hate.
Kindness ,good manners, respect were forever in play.
And, tragically, I can't say the same for today.

So forgive me, if I truly don't understand this God hating,
          negative, lost world.
My mind hungers for the once present sanity,
the love, the humanity and the lost sweetness.
Of a salt water taffy world.

Premium Member Reverie in Tranquility

I drown myself in reverie and retrospection,
when on calm tranquil mornings,
chirping birds entertain my eager senses,
and flowers serenade me away with their ambrosial fragrance...
My mind gets fully occupied with the mysteries of the universe,
which I will never be able to comprehend!

Birds twitter gleefully to each other,
squirrels scurry in their grey coats,
The world moves slowly, in a lulling pace.
clouds float languidly in the azure sky,
sailboats cruising on the emerald ocean,
anchor not in sight!
Nature in eternity - blissful, picturesque, serene!

I wonder about the eventual truths in life...This is a journey to unfamiliar, uncertain...in ultimate scheme of things, we are all pawns in the chessboard of an unknown skilled magician, who smiles at our arrogance, blesses all his children unaware of the profound truth of life and Death!

We all are on our odyssey…Only at a temporary harbour we pause,
Steer through blissful moments,
Sorrows and misery,
Heartbreak and despair,
We smile, we bleed, we mourn!
We feel elation in the tangerine trifles of a voyage...
The journey makes the difference in a life well-lived,
Not the desired end!

I Breathe Lies

Betwixt our deceptive connection
Lies told, to always end in
I’ll never have a profound perspective
As my skepticism results in your grin

When our paths crossed
Like two sailboats in a panoramic sea
I believed you were mannerly
Though, sprouted unexpectedly was your immorality

My standpoint was already set
My conception was that you’d abet
To all the curves, bumps, and facets of me
Though you’d never devote to me
You’d only break me to debris

Every word transmitted from your “soul”
Carried no true sentimental worth
Yet I believed you, over my mind you had control
Desiring for your concealed lies to rebirth

Lies and gas-lighting were brought upon me
Despite your affectionate expressions
I thought truth be told, that I was free
But I’m now trapped under your early impressions

Doubting and doubting your false affection
Perhaps you don’t know how to express emotion?
But deep inside, I know that’s untrue
That I’m just someone to be used, at least to you

Though acceptance is quite challenging for me
I’m unsure of why I still trust you
As you treat me like nobody
Though these lies will forever pursue.

Premium Member Sea Angel

My church is a crystal ribbon of healing sand.
Where land ends -there nests a sky-blue lighthouse.
The turquoise ribbons cooling down the sun splashed land.
Seagulls reciting their verse, pipers sprint about.

Whispers that a child was swallowed by the hag.
Outside the breakers the sailboats dip their bows.
Strangers linking hearts, forming a throbbing chain.
A sea angel was born that day, but I never went back again.

my gifts are those unhindered birds
spreading wings in the tangerine sky,
my gifts are those ruby-red roses
                        spreading hues touching saddened hearts.
my gifts are crimson dawn, amber clouds,
floating sailboats in ocean's blue bosom,
                        whispering raindrops, blossoming buds,.
                        swaying leaves and mauve twilight.
my gifts are those pure, unblemished
smiles of children ~ innocent eyes lighten up.

with all these divine gifts in my world,
I have more than enough to be
                        sailing through life!

If my life is like a river,
dreams float soft in emerald thoughts,

                                amaranth swaying in brisk wind,
                                  budding flowers glistening on
                                     branches, elated, euphoric ~

If my life is a sapphire sky,
                             dreams wander like rainbow sailboats,
                                some day they imagined reaching
                                  shores, now gliding gloriously

Premium Member Journey At the Beach

I hear the ocean’s surf in the music, I am listening to
Calming as it is, while it takes me on a journey away
To places I have been before and places I dream to go
With the soothing sound of the water in my footsteps
I can hear the seabirds calling and I can smell the salt air
I imagine looking for pretty shells, buried in the sand
And watching the sailboats go by in the distance
Until the beautiful sun sets a blazing conclusion
	      - To my journey at the beach -

Premium Member Shining Like Brass

With salt in the air beyond sandy grass
Ocean waves crash on the rocky shore
Under golden sun, shining like brass

Beyond the dunes I could want no more
Where seagulls dive and the sailboats ride
Ocean waves crash on the rocky shore

Seashells float into the caves to hide
Everything rolls in the changing tide
Where seagulls dive and the sailboats ride

The horizon like arms open wide
There lies opportunities to see
Everything rolls in the changing tide

I am beginning to feel so free
There is always new hope to be found
There lies opportunities to see

I laugh with seagulls swirling around
With salt in the air beyond sandy grass
There is always new hope to be found
Under golden sun shining like brass

Premium Member A Farmer's Field

There is a farmfield stretches outward
A red barn with some evergreen trees
Behind the barn a river is flowing
Sometimes sailboats passes and
       row boats
The water is clear blue calm

In the grassy field are cows and buffalo
They come to fill their stomach with grass
Then stay out all morning and noon
Enjoying their time outdoors
While the farmer does his chores
Then work that needs to be done
inside the barn
